I was just thinking, there are a lot of names in FFVIII that I’m not sure how to pronounce. How do you say:

-Quistis Trepe (I’m pretty sure I pronounce Quistis correctly. (what kind of name is that?!) But I have no idea about Trepe. I’ve been saying it like it rhymes with "tape".)

-Seifer (Safer? Seffer?)

-Dincht (Dinkt?)

-Edea (I’ve been saying it like the Spanish word "idea." Ee-DEY-uh. But I’m not really sure.)

-Irvine (like the name Irving?)

-Ultimecia (not sure where to put the accent)

I’m probably forgetting some names. Anyway, anyone know if I’m saying them right?

Deus, then how do you pronounce "Trepie"?

Rinoa, I pronounce your name "Rih (short "i" sound)-NO-ah." And your pronounciation of Squall has to be correct, because that’s how you pronounce the real word "squall."

I still don’t know where the stress goes in "Ultimecia." UltiMEcia? UltimeCIa?

On the subject of names, does the posse have last names? I was looking for a Fujin pic to use as an avatar in another forum (for some reason, this forum says the pic I ended up choosing isn’t "a valid jpg or gif"), and I noticed a lot of people call her "Fujin Kazeno." They call Raijin "Raijin Hefty." When did they say their full names in FFVIII?

And why do so many people spell my name… err, I mean her name, "Fuujin"?

I pronounce everything just about like every1 else ‘cept i pronounce Seifer See-fur. And all my friends who have have played FF8 pronounce Ultimecia Ult-i-mess-ia, which sounds veeery strange to me.
