The Final Fantasy "Tekken" Tournament

Ever debated over whether it’s Sephiroth or Kuja who’s the top evil guy of the FF series? Ever argued that Cloud was a much better hero than Squall?? Fought over which of Aeris or Tifa would’ve ended up in Cloud’s arms??? Well here is your chance to settle scores, to decide who is the best character from FF6 through to 9. The first Final Fantasy "Tekken" Tournament!!!

RULES:-

(This is all in good fun, and the eventual winner is just an opinion. It doesn’t really mean that that character would win in "real" life. ***Spoiler*** Some characters contained in this tournament aren’t named until in the latter stages of some of the games. Oh, and I haven’t played Final Fantasy 6, only 7, 8, and 9, so some of the characters may be a little on the strange side, I just copied them from the FFShrine’s character list.)

64 characters from Final Fantasy 6 through to Final Fantasy 9 have been selected and drawn into one on one encounters much like Tekken and other beat-em-ups. The draw is written below, and what you do is choose the character who you’d think would be most likely to win for each match. I’ll keep the post going for a set time each round (probably 24 hours,) and then count up the votes for each match. The winner is the one with the most votes at the end of the time period, and goes on to the next round.

ANYONE can post who they wish to win at ANY time. If you don’t post in the first round, you are more than free to post in any future round. Oh, and I won’t be allowed to post who I’d wish to win (to try and keep it unbiased.)

It’s kind of unfair that Locke has to fight Squall on the first round. Personally, I think that Locke would win easily with his paladin shield since Squall won’t be able to hit him at all. Oh, well, Locke will always be the best in my opinion. Who cares what the rest of the world thinks.><

tell that to the approximite 150,000 damage that duel has done in 12 seconds. All sephiroth does is a mass of status changes and 9998 damage in a 2 minute summon.

yo rocky yea true zell has dual but just look at the storyline of ff7sep is something too powerfull for just any person to beat like zell and they couldnt give sep a really strong attack in the battles like dual becuase then it would be impossable to beat him so in the game storyline sep should win but would lose in the 1v1 fight because square had to hold back sep i mean if i boss did 15000 dmg in one hit when you can only have 9999 life it would be kinjda hard to win ^^

THE FINAL BATTLE:-

The three competitors enter the squared circle, armed ready and all for the win.

First, from Final Fantasy VIII’s Balamb Town and the surprise of the tournament, master of the fists, Zell Dincht!

The second entrant comes from Final Fantasy VIII’s Balamb Garden originally, before moving to Galbadia Garden, the master of the Gunblade, Seifer Almassy!

And last, from Final Fantasy VII’s Nibelheim and sporting one of the largest swords in existence, Cloud Strife!

The fight begins. Zell and Seifer share an intense hatred, and lock up first. Cloud stands back and watch, taking this opportunity to equip his materia and to build up his limit meter. Seifer notes Cloud’s poise, and beckons to Zell. The two Final Fantasy VIII members begin to double team on Cloud.

Unable to hold back the onslaught for too long, Cloud’s limit break hits full, but before he can deal the death blow, Zell hits him with Duel and Cloud is down! Zell turns to celebrate with Seifer, but gets called a chickenwuss and then dismantled by the gunblade expert.

Meanwhile, Cloud’s earlier work with his materia comes to fruition. The final attack – life combination brings him back to his feet. Seifer turns and begins to strike him from a distance with his gunblade. Cloud parries the blows, waiting once again for the limit to build up. Finally, Cloud strikes.

Seifer is hit fifteen times with Cloud’s sword as the Final Fantasy VII hero unleashes the full power of Omnislash. The last blow sees Cloud glaring down at Seifer, before the sword nearly decapitates him in two. Seifer staggers back for a second, looking at Cloud with the intent to strike back, before finally falling flat on the floor.

FINAL RESULT:-

Cloud (FF7) defeats Seifer (FF8) and Zell (FF8) by 6 votes to 0 to 0.

And the winner, and FINAL FANTASY "TEKKEN" CHAMPION! CLOUD STRIFE!
