Do you know what the problem is?
Maybe your PS2 is dirty(full of dust)….so, try to clean it.Also, put the console on a higher place like a table or something like that.
-LuluRikku
Is it possible that you have the Dreamcast to PS2 conversion? Because that seems to be the problem with PS2 games played on Dreamcast.
Is there really such a thing as a DC to PS2 Conversion? If there was one… well first it must be one of those stuff made from deep within China (aka, it’s a cheap piece of cowpie) and the quality would be ULTRA cheep (DC vs PS2… well, PS2 has more processing power…). Eh, whatever…
Anyways, I found out a problem… and the answer might not be something you would like…
From what I heard, some PS2s work with CDs for awhile… then they would suddenly won’t read it at all. The DVDs still work fine (since it’s optimized for DVDs) but the CDs won’t work for jack…
The only thing I heard to fix this is to get a new one… or replace it. Hopefully your PS2 is still in warranty =P
Well, thats my answer… I’m not saying that might be THE answer…
There’s an attachment sold (illegally?) to fit on a Dreamcast that allows you to play Playstation2 games on the Dreamcast (since Dreamcast is extinct and you can’t do anything with it anyway). BUT – there seems to be a problem with the blue dics.
It’s a cheaper alternative, you can get a Dreamcast for like $80 and the attachment is $20 (?) (I’m guessing), so people who really want a PS2 but can’t afford $300 will get a $100 alternative.
I personally don’t think it’s such a bargain, because you can’t watch DVD’s, you don’t get the same quality of graphics (because of the conversion)
Personally, I like my PS2. I just hooked it up to a Sony surround sound system. It kicks ass!!!!!
-LuluRikku
I can’t imagine why people would want to play PS2 in super slo-mo.
The dreamcast has the amazing ability to continue to play all of the games that were made for it previously and is, therefore, not useless.
Is PS2 better? YES.
…and in my opinion – Sega Dreamcast is a failed venture, I think it’s a crime that they sell them at full price, when they aren’t making any more Dreamcasts OR games for it anymore. Totally useless.
-LuluRikku
but there wouldn’t be anything illegal about playing a PS2 game on the Dreamcast. not anything wrong with it anyways. As long as they’re still buying the games they play. if they want to play FFX on the DC, I can just laugh at them. It must be a 200 hour game on that system. The code doesn’t change, so it should be running in super slo-mo, which is why I’m convinced you’re lying(ignoring all the whole idea of DVDs in a GD player)
but I’ll head over to lik-sang and gamechoice club myself and see.
They don’t sell DCs at full price. not in the US anymore. Anyways, its not worth complaining about. Fact is, there is enough quality on the system for it to be worth full price.

OK Rezo, here’s one "Legal" clue. I can’t find the illegal stuff.

Bleeming the Cube
Filed: 8/10
We are big fans of software that let us play games the best way we can. Thats probably why we have always loved bleem!, an emulation package that lets you play PlayStation games on the PC. Now, bleem! is offering PlayStation owners a better alternative: the Dreamcast. With the new version for Dreamcast, gamers can pop in titles like Tekken 3 with sharper graphics and quicker load times. After seeing these comparison screenshots, were impressed. Perhaps the Dreamcast isnt a doorstop, after all?
==============================================
This is just a legal item that allows you to play Playstation games on Dreamcast. There’s an illegal attachment that allows for PS2.
-LuluRikku
How "good" a console is is deturmaned by its specs, and the ps2 does have more power then the dreamcast therefor it IS better.
The games put on the systems are deturmaned by the companys that make them, not the system, so it doesn’t have anything to do with the games.
At least, above is how i rate a system. Doesn’t mean i will buy it, i look at the maker of it, and they’re previous success. Sega doesn’t have a good ‘record’ on success, so i dare not buy anything from them. I haven’t seen that many games on it that i might like anyways, then again i don’t look.
Anyway, lets get back on subject, try to help this person since i have no idea how to. Enough about this "secret ps2 game playing dreamcast" stuff. Start another thread about it if ya want 🙂
:alien:
*sigh* I personally think that you HAVE a dreamcast, the way you defend it so much. (gross).
… AND you probably have that attachment and you tell people you have a PS2 which is why it’s so important to you to make it look like I’m not telling the truth – instead of that YOU’RE lying because you don’t have a PS2.
Well, with my current knowledge (and my dumb friend’s money), he has this attachment for the DC (cost me 3 bucks at this one import store)… though it can’t play DVDs… nor can it play CD games really well.
One game we tested this on (Dynasty Warriors 2, it being a CD), it turns out that…. eh forget details, it was UDDER CRAP. I’ve seen better attachments, heck, the Gameboy to PSX attachment is 100 times better than this… despite the fact that it only plays 1 outta 7 games.
And LuluRikku… you have nothing to prove, I THINK YOU MIGHT HAVE A DREAMCAST…. hell, I might even say that you have a PSX that plays PS2 games. I don’t really care.
The point is, never assume… you’ll make an ass out of you and me. =P
Oh and all that other stuff about you…. I just won’t say anything about them… maybe except "My name means nothing under a piece of work or title… my name means a lot when I’m respected as a normal Shriner."
In other words…. maybe you shouldn’t ask people to put your name under your work… who is really gonna look at it anyways? We aren’t in competition here ya know.
What other stuff?
I THINK YOU MIGHT HAVE A DREAMCAST
No, Dreamcast sucks.
In other words…. maybe you shouldn’t ask people to put your name under your work… who is really gonna look at it anyways? We aren’t in competition here ya know.
Where did all this come from?
-LuluRikku
Anyways, going back on topic… well actually the topic is kinda over… I guess I’ll give one more answer.
If you can play your PSone CDs on the PS2 but can’t play PS2 CDs… then your PS2 is messed up and should be replaced right away. The early PS2 systems had some problems… some small problems… nothing widespread really.
Well… again, my answer, not the answer. Gonna go play the Dreamcast.
Great games + Bad Systems = Sega
And to add on…
The Sega Dreamcast is my 2nd Sega System… I don’t really give a damn if Sega sucked. Nintendo died out on the N64… who cares… I got a Gamecube (well going to get one…) and I’m gonna play it. I won’t get an X-Box…. not because of Microsoft… it’s because of the games…
If I had a choice between choosing CvS2 for PS2 or Dreamcast, I would get the PS2, only because of the controls… if I had a PSX to DC controler converter (they do exist cause I have one) I would get the DC.
Systems are the storytellers… they could only hear so many stories… others don’t like the story and never tells it… others want to spread the story to other storytellers. Some explain the story better than others… I’m just a listener who likes to hear every version of it.
anyways, what I was intending to do earlier

feel free to do the math yourself. I’ll assume this $3 device does not include a processor to help with graphics, or more megs of ram, and is crippled in speed because it has to emulate PS2 circumstances. owning such a device is a waste.
Who is not aware of Bleem? you shouldn’t of even bothered searching for it.
my favorite system(that i think is "better" than all other systems) is the famicom. based on the library. I did not say it was more powerful, which is what you seemed to be inferring. I base this on the library. So I would say that the famicom has the best library and therefore is the best system to have. The Dreamcast currently has a better library than the PS2, and will for a while. PS2 should pass it eventually.
I’m surprised Lik-Sang didn’t have the device up. perhaps they don’t deal in crap.
Maybe it is crap. I think it’s probably illegal, and that’s why they don’t sell it on an online retail store. I’m not a technical expert, I was trying to shed some light on why this guy couldn’t read the blue discs. The people that I know who have the gadget I described, complain about the same problem.
-LuluRikku
So CAN IT! and try to help with THIS problem.
this was my thought. Its a hong kong shop is it not? as is gamechoice club.
Squeh. I don’t know why the blue discs wouldn’t work. It seems odd for one to work fine, and another type not too.
and DJMogK’ you wrote a guide to being a perfect shriner – and in that you asked that people should be nice to each other…yelling at me to "can it" doesn’t fall under that definition does it? Anyway, I don’t know why you’re so upset, but it seems to be personal, so I’ll let it go.
-LuluRikku
Okay, as for the stuff I said in the begining…
Quote 1- That stuff about you…
Well, I didn’t really mind for awhile… heck, I hated people that had big egos… then I heard what was going on in the Banner Thread… trying to make friends and acting all "Please give me proper credit" and all that. I laughed at the thought, And like I said, I didn’t really mind. Then I heard about the PMs going around… eh kinda bothered me a bit… I dunno why… continued on with life. Then I actually decide to read one of your posts…
Lets just say I was cracking up… seeing…
-LuluRikku
I mean… whats the point of that? Put that in your sig or something! And you seem to be repeating every Paragraph or so…
Then I read this…
…Is it possible that you have the Dreamcast to PS2 conversion? Because that seems to be the problem with PS2 games played on Dreamcast…
I laughed at the idea of a person ACUTALLY using a Dreamcast to PS2 converter… I mean… unless your a poor idiot that is retarded… that is.
I bought the conversion (for 3 bucks) as a joke. I wanted to see it in action… it was quite funny.
Well back to the thing. I read it… laughed. And I know for a fact that some PS2 do have a problem of not playing CD games for awhile. It happened to some of my friends… but it turned out that simple CD Lens cleaner will work on it.
So yeah. explained quote 1.
Quote 2…. I explained it in the first paragraph.
Quote 3- That was a long while ago… you being "the BEST" (read: The big-ego-like) banner maker… but I’ll stop there.
I just have to clarify that I wasn’t talking about the $3 item you’re talking about. Call me all the names you want, but I’ve seen the Dreamcast play FFX at my friend’s house. The end.
-LuluRikku
(I’m no ego maniac about my sigs, I never said (or thought) I was the best. Plus, everyone gets credit for the banners they make…Nymph Van Tassel, Krelian, Kayin Vanderkill, and One Winged Angel all get credit, that doesn’t mean they’re ego maniacs just because they want people to know they put some hard work into making someone else’s signature.)
Dj MogK’,

1. I never said ANYTHING about you talking about the 3 dollar attachment.
2. You made it seem so, yes they do give credit for the sigs they do… but notice you say (at least early) "Please give credit for the sigs" And you also seem to use italics VERY often… and… I’ll just continue this in a PM, you’ll be hearing from me soon…
Do you know what the problem is?
aye the problem is that the blue discs r lighter than the sliver back so the blue discs tend to move around in the ps2 the thing i did lol i put a disc protecter in front of the cd and it made a sound but it played but if u wanna play with a muscle car sound that get annoying
It would be hilarious.
