It’s storyline is excellent. It gets a bit hoakey, I admit, but the overall story is still excellent.
For those of you who haven’t seen it, Gasaraki is basically about two central characters who are essentially owned by opposing megacorps. This makes them enimies. What it is actually about would be harder to say. Some would think it’s a love story, while others may think it’s about a struggle for power, while others may think it’s a man’s struggle to hold onto his humanity, but I’ll put to you this way. It’s about shit blowing up and all the nifty little plot devices that happen between ship blowing up and mecha blowing more shit up.
Back to topic. Episode 4 is actually where it truly gets interesting. For one thing that’s when they really introduce the cast of characters. It’s hard to explain, but the first 3 episodes are pretty much introductory to the rest of the story, while the story truly picks up in Episode 4. While nearly half the characters "show-up" within the first 3 episodes, pretty much none of them are actually introduced to the story until Episode’s 4-6. That may sound incoherent but, after you see later episodes, you will understand what I mean.
