"Hit products such as Chrono Trigger, FF Tactics, Seiken Densetsu and Parasite Eve, will be reproduced.
No major projects will take place, other than the Final Fantasy series. Even the FF series will be expanded by spin-offs such as sub-series focused on certain characters in the game(s), starting from Final Fantasy 12."
This means that there will be possible remakes of my beloved Secret of Mana series (Seiken Densetsu). I think these will just be remakes for the GBA but there is always a chance that they will remake it for Sony.
I also think that the "spin-offs" will be pretty cool
… As for the re-makes and what not. Great. Will they make it over to the UK this time? It seems weird that we have Parasite Eve 2, but not Parasite Eve. I still want to see what’s so great about Secret of Mana and Chrono Trigger. I’d happily buy in these games, provided the cost is good and I’ve got the platform that the games will be released on.
Anyway I didn’t like the movie that much. I wouldn’t say that it sucked but it wasn’t good.
And, I’m not sure what they mean about any big projects. I know there will be a new Chrono game and I’m pretty sure there will be a new SaGa game. I think they mean that there will be no major projects this fiscal year (which started about a month ago) except for the FF series.
It still puzzles me what they said about spin-off series. what characters would they use from FFXII?
The movie (in my eyes) was kewl. I don’t know why it sold badly, all these stupid sheep saying that it’s gay even when they like it. This all started when some FF hater said it sucked.
Umm, yeah, nevermind the fact that it got bad reviews and sold like shit. I’m not an FF hater, nor am I a "stupid sheep," and nor did I call it "gay." I thought it was a bad movie that was made worse by the fact that it was called "Final Fantasy" and had almost nothing to do with the Final Fantasy games.
As for this announcement, I hate it. Way to go Square, kill off what little originality you had left.
I thought the movie was Ok too, but it just wasn’t ‘Final Fantasy’. Personally, my mind in LOTR movie was much more FF elements than in FF movie itself. I mean, if the name wouldn’t happened to be Final Fantasy, I probably wouldn’t even notice to go watch it to the movie theatre. I heard they would have made more movies about Aki Ross, and not only FF movies, Aki would have been in different role and different profession, but cause of the movie cost so much that it near to kill the whole firm, they left the film business for good. If that’s the case, I’m relieved they decided to do so.
Umm, yeah, nevermind the fact that it got bad reviews and sold like shit.
Who cares what the reviewers said and how it sold. The movie was just bad period. I don’t need someone who has entirely different tastes from me (and probably hasn’t even played one video game let alone a FF game) to tell me that a movie is no good.
^^^ talking about the movie reviewers.
