I think I’d let TSR make it, they are repsosible for a great deal of the Forgotten Realms series (Baldurs Gate, PlaneScape: Torment, IceWind Dale). The reason why would be the incredible character depth and quests/sub quests. They also have a great knack for good stories, so the main story line would be great.
Or I would choose SEGA probably, they made Skies of Arcadia Legends, aswell as another number of good RPGs. It would have a great turnbased fighting system and good stry, nice character depth and great fighting/magic system.
Not to mention, I haven’t much hope for the FF series anyway. I think it slowwllyy started to die after they made 8. I think it slopes from 7..
7…too good for words.
8….not bad..pretty good
9….Different, but a nice change.
10…Alright..mediocre
This is my simple but humble opinion. FFXI looks too different, and FFX-2 is a lame excuse for fan-service. Face it. =P
Anyway, as for topic..I think it’d be interested to see Capcom take over FF…they always seem to create interesting characters…and their plots are usually good (for the games they create).
It also would make me tingly all over if you gave the series over to SNK and let them make a 2-D fighting game out of it. XD! That’d kick ass. (Ehrgeiz helped my need for an FF fighting game, but didn’t quite cut the mustard..)
I guess if I HAD to pick…I’d say Sega also. =\
:mew:
FF needs more graphic violence, car jackings, chainsaws, prostitutes, and Bullet Time.
All in a turn based RPG roundabout way.

FF: Vice City.
Steal that chocobo and chop the moogle maffia up with your gunblade stolen from someone who drives around in an Estharian car
o_o; xD
Probaly Sega, or maybe even nintendo 😮 They aren’t the RPG guru’s for sure; but when it comes to introducing completly new and fresh things into the series, nintendo can work.
Personally, I think no one could re-create what Square have done, but Nintendo do have a habit of taking something and turning it to gold. Super Mario RPG for the SNES (I have heard) is a darn good RPG, and of course there is Zelda. But Zelda and Final Fantasy are two different types of RPG (action based RPG fighting do hickey versus Real Time ATB Fighting based RPG.)
If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it…
