Renzokuken is the most powerful move in Final Fantasy history.
There, I’ve said it.
Now to try to back it up. Granted, sometimes it cannot compare to Knights of the Round or Omnislash, but if you use Aura and get Squall constantly limiting with the Lionheart weapon, then you’re laughing. You get the normal Renzokuken damage (between 4 to 8 hits at normal damage) followed by Lionheart (possibly) that does around 20 hits of damage at 9999 HP per hit.
This move is thus pretty damn crippling for anything you face. However, it does make the game easy if you’re using Aura constantly in boss battles and Squall "happens" to Lionheart three times in a row…
or another enemey that is so foolish to attack me 😉
Just as longs as they die I’m happy ^__^ although it is kinda cheap :B
This post was made possible by Aura and Meltdown.
Though with me, it was kinda rare and I don’t think I ever got it twice in the same battle, at least not in a row. Mainly ’cause Squall was so damn strong that 1 LionHeart was enough to take down any given enemy :p
I useally get Limit Breaks when health is critical, only on special battles(Ultima weapon, Griever & Co) I use Aura big time
But in the end… LionHeart just rocks my world, mainly ’cause I haven’t overused it while playing.
Punch Rush –> Booya –> Punch Rush etc…
Punch Rush –> Heel Drop –> Mach Kick –> Punch Rush etc…
These aren’t the most powerful of the moves, but they chain onto each other forever, and you can perform them so quickly that the accumulated damage would be better than that of a Renzokuken + Lionheart.
But yeah, I’m not denying that Renzokuken is mega-powerful. 😉
You can do the same to Zell and use Duel…. That way….You’ll get a heck of a damage…. If you take those both characters…. You’ll beat anymonster so easy….
T.W.K.
And yes, it is ridiculous. The last boss is nothing when you can limit all over the place.

Everytime I come into this forum (FF8) there is another reason why FF8 is sub-par…

Then just play really crappy, like me and this will make the last boss the longest FF battle you will ever have.
It took me like, 3 hours 🙁
Don’t get me wrong, FF7 is my favourite, but in all the games, the end boss is ridiculously easy. I mean… in FF10, once you got Break Damage Limit on any sword…
hi all ! i am new here ! what are you guy talking ? can i join ?
You can introduce yourself here (http://forums.ffshrine.net/showthread.php?s=&threadid=1777). ^^
Also.. Discussions are open here. You’re welcome to post in any thread you like, as long as you stay on topic. 🙂

ME TOO! Oh thanks ye gods, and I thought I was alone. But my longest against Ulty was five hours (but I lost back then, so it doesn’t count…)
Ever since this time I reeeeally stopped understanding people complaining about a final boss being too weak.
Right, if you upgrade your weapons and power up your stats to no end, the last battles will all be easy. Either you ignore the junctioning system and don’t upgrade your weapons, or you play with your eyes closed or the gamepade upside down.
… Lionheart? Hm… I’ve seen my sister do it, and yep, it seems quite powerful. But my Squall never did such fancy tricks.
I think ff8 is a great game and renzokuken is just one of the great things about it.
<font color=red face="comic sans ms">Yeah, Duel > Renzokuken when it comes to damage I’m afraid. Assuming you get 12 seconds, you can keep repeating the same moves over and over again as some combos simply chain onto each other over and over again, such as:
Punch Rush –> Booya –> Punch Rush etc…
Punch Rush –> Heel Drop –> Mach Kick –> Punch Rush etc…
No way is Zell’s limit break stronger than Squall’s. I would even say that shooting star (with some luck) is more powerful than Zell’s limit break.
but i have to say as usual selphie is the best the end… or even rapture comes in handy when in a sticky spot
I think me not using Zell might’ve added to the whole "his force break isn’t that great" sort of thinking. Once I had Rinoa and Irvine in my party, I pretty much ignored everyone else.
No way is Zell’s limit break stronger than Squall’s. I would even say that shooting star (with some luck) is more powerful than Zell’s limit break. <font color=red face="comic sans ms">All depends on the circumstances. Get Zell’s strength to 255, cast Meltdown on the enemy, and get a 12-second Duel. True, you would need to be very good at Duel to do this, but the combo I posted before can be performed in a total of about 0.4 – 0.5 seconds. Now imagine each of those hits causing 9999 damage or just slightly below, and it would work out being so much more powerful than a Lion Heart. 😀
My tips are just equip yourself less to give yourself more of a challenge, if thats what you want.
As for renzokuken i think its awesome. I love the fact its stupidly powerful, one of the reasons i didnt like FF10, the limits were pure shit, renzokuken with lion heart is so cool, and didnt unbalance the game that much IMO.
I actually think the end ff8 bosses were much harder than ff7 and other games
Me too. Did you know that the first time I ever beaten Ulty was using Selphie’s The End thrice? Heh that boss was pretty hard. I always died at Griever’s Shockwave Pulsar. And if I survived, then I would have been killed quickly afterwards. Some time after that sad last battle, I went back and actually fought Ulty w/o The End.
Zell’s Limit Break can be done as fast as .1 – .2 per turn using the Punch Rush-Booya combo again and again and again.
For all intents, Zell’s Limit Break can do more damage than any of Squall’s Limit Breaks. This is under the assumption that no power ups (like Meltdown) and the norm of both characters are near to equal.
as to renzokuken being the bet move in the whole FF HISTORY
well, lets get back not to far ago, when Nintendo owned with super NES, and FF6 and Chrono Trigger had their place as the best Square RPGs ever, and among the best RPGs ever (they still are among the best ever) FF6 had THE most powerful move that killed ANYTHING but the final boss in 1 shot (cuz final boss is like many many many little parts) its VANISH-DOOM (yeah, combo, but renzokuken and lionheart is a combo, and then zell’s limit is a combo, and then both are limits, while my thing isnt) vanish make the target completly immune to physics, but drops magic resist to none (or something like that) and then doom just dooms… thats it, dead… even omega wpn from FF8 wouldn’t have lasted long back then :D:D:D
now that the question of the best move is settled, we might go talking about what are the best RPGs ever?
FF8 has a move that kills anything whatsoever in one shot too. It’s called "The End."
renzokuken have a preety move, when it cutting a monster.
as for the most damaging, yes, FFX has them, but just wait for FFXII or later FFs, every time they get bigger and stronger
Is there any way tomake lionheart more often im lvl 100 so everything is maxed out and i aura just about every time i need it .so plz hlp if u can.
As for most damaging move ffX,
But if u were to have zell do his limit combo:booya punch rush ect
then have squal do a perfect rezokuken and do lionheart 3 times in a row Then have quistis to do shockwave pulsar, all in one turn thats probably the most damaging combo.
1) Max the Magus Sisters.
2) Go to the Arena and fight one of the more challenging baddies.
3) When Mindy does her Passado, which is often, watch the fire works:
99,999 x 20 = 1,999,980 (yes it’s 20 times)
Not that the monster dies, but hey, only takes say 4 or more times to kill it.
At least the game gives you a reason for such absurd damage.
If you void FFX… FFX-2 has Cat Nip.
Cat Nip + Trigger Happy + Turbo Controler:
I’m not sure how much this is, but without a turbo controler i can pull off 16-18 shots at 9,999.
Neither are combos.
I have a move that can destroy everything in Final Fantasy history, it’s called the Power Button. :O
Well said…
🙂
I understand the combo move in FF6 wiping the crap out of everything, but I’m sure it doesn’t work on certain bosses. Renzokuken – Lionheart works on ANYTHING. So, in that term of thinking, it’s the stronger move.
