Ultimate Weapons and Limits… *Spoilers*

Did anyone take the time to locate everyone’s ultimate weapon and limit break and activate them during the gameplay? I know I spent ages stopping Cloud from levelling up to Level 3 Limit break (because I thought that happening was what was preventing my other characters still on Level 1 Limit from getting to Level 2…)

Anyways, I managed to get everyone’s level 4 limit break ready and their ultimate weapons (yes, even Aeris before the inevitable happened.) Because I’m bored, here’s a list:

Cloud:
Weapon: Ultima Weapon. Obtained after defeating the Ultimate Weapon on Disk 3.
Limit: Omnislash. Won from Battle Square after obtaining 32000 points. Exchange points for Limit.

Barret:
Weapon: Missing Score. Midgar during disc 2 before encountering Hojo, after fighting Proud Clod. Barret must be in party for chest to appear.
Limit: Catastrophe. North Corel when Meteor is summoned. Talk to lady in middle house at the west end to obtain the item.

Tifa:
Weapon: Premium Heart. Obtain Key to Sector 5, and head back to Wall Market. Check broken vending machine and it dumps the item on ya.
Limit: Final Heaven. Obtained from Nibelheim. You need to play the song from the flashback. (X, square, triangle, R1+Triangle, R1 + Square, Circle, Square, Triangle, R1 + X, Circle, X, Square, X… I think.)

Aeris:
Weapon: Princess Guard. Temple of the Ancients, Clock room, hall IV.
Limit: Great Gospel. Obtain Mithril from old man near Junon (in cave.) When no of battles fought has the same last two digits, he’ll hand it over. Give to the man in the hut who tells you where the Key to the Temple of the Ancients is, and he’ll let you take an item. Open the small chest at the top of the stairs.

Red XIII:
Weapon: Limited Moon. Obtained on disk 3 at Cosmo Canyon. Bugenhagen hands it over to Red.
Limit: Cosmo Memory. Obtained from safe at Shinra Mansion after defeating Lost Number.

Yuffie:
Weapon: Conformer. After obtaining Submarine, found in Crashed Gelnika near the Gold Saucer. Mind out for Emerald though!
Limit: All Creation. Obtained after defeating Yuffie’s father Godo in the Pagoda in Wutai.

Cait Sith:
Weapon: HP Shout. Obtained from locker on 64th floor in Shinra headquarters during the disk 2 raid of Midgar.
Limit: Slots. Meh. You get it normally.

Vincent:
Weapon: Death Penalty. After getting the submarine, there is a waterfall behind the Nibel area (and the passageway can be followed in the sub.) Get out and walk around back of waterfall. Meet Lucrecia, leave, then return during disk 3 and Vincent will get both limit and weapon.
Limit: Chaos. See above.

Cid:
Weapon: Venus Gospel. Rocket Town. The man who was obsessed with the rocket. Speak to him several times after the rocket is gone, and he’ll hand it over. Eventually.
Limit: Highwind. Crashed Gelnika. In the cargo bay, a chest doth holdeth Cid’s ultimate limit break.

… Well, I wasn’t planning to do that. XD

Yeah, I got ’em all at one point or another. On my first save, I missed Barret’s Missing Score and Aeris’s Great Gosplel, but in other saves (probaby deleted) I have gotten all of the others…

I like to use Red XIII’s and Yuffie’s Lv.3 Limit breaks more than their Lv.4 Limit. The Lv.3’s can do more damage on a single target than the Lv.4…

I got them all too. Quite easily.

You can get Omnislash on Disk 1 for 64,000 BP points ;). Disk 2 and 3 it’s 32,000.

Oh, I definitely got all of them. I didn’t get Aeris’s 4/1 the first time around, although I did get it eventually. The easiest ultimate weapons were the ones you could just get in treasure chests any time or were just handed over to you. Catastrophe’s not available until after the Huge Materia train quest and I think you have to beat that to get it.

anyways…. i got all except i missed barret’s missing score a couple of times

I got all the ultimate weapons real easily every game I played. I didn’t know what to do with the limit items the first time though xD After like disc 1 I finally figured that out xD

You don’t have to. Just visit the place with Vincent any time you’d like, have the chat, go out on the world map, wait a while(30 min to 1 hour or something like that) and return to the waterfall. It SHOULD be there. If it’s not, just wait a little longer before revisiting. I don’t think you need Vincent in your party when revisiting.

I’ve taken them all easily, except that I missed Red’s Limited Moon the last time I played it….
BTW, I never noticed that Cloud’s Omnislash can be exchanged for 32,000 in the Disks 2 and 3 -_-. I always get it in the first Disk…

Yeah. About Vincent’s weapon and limit, I think I read that you just need to fight like maybe ten battles or something and then you can go back and get it. Can’t verify that you don’t need him in your party. I’ve always had him in it when going to get them.

I always waited to Disc 2/3 to get Cloud’s 4/1. Never could be bothered trying to rack enough points in Disc 1 to get it.

For Vincent’s Limit and weapon….Yeah you need him to be in your Party…

And abuot Cloud’s Limit….I guess you’re right…I don’t even have the Lv.3 limit…I don’t think it’d be right to rack those points at that time…

<font color=red face="comic sans ms">I got every character’s ultimate weapon apart from Barret’s. I hardly used him, and I had no idea that you’d have to take him with you in order to get his weapon from Midgar. I just stuck with the Max Ray though which suited me fine.

As for limit breaks, I did get every character’s level 4, and in one game I actually spent the time to get Aeris all of hers on disc 1 so that I could simply see what Great Gospel was like. The only one I never got to use was Final Heaven becuse I never used Tifa at all until right at the end when I was levelling everyone up. I got her to kill a LOT of eenmies, but stil never managed to get her past level 2.

Now someone has to tell me I wasn’t missing out on a lot or I’m gonna end up playing my best game again just to get her up to level 4. :p

You’re missing something…but it’s not alot…. So don’t bother trying to go through the whole game again to get it…

I have the PC version (burned) and the PS version (legit). My best game is on the PC version (even though I had the PS version over two years longer than the PC version).

I have all their lv.4 limits and Ultimate weapons (not to mention each materia mastered three times – including KOR – and all my chars at lv.99). I miss Aeris not being being around to use it.

Gametime? 55:45. As for Materia growth, there are triple growth. It only takes a little while to Master any given Materia in the N.Crater in 3x Growth. As for KOR you can Master it easy the first time if you just put it in triple and beat WEAPONs. Not that hard.
