The footage doesn’t appear to be on the site anymore, theres news but no video footage.

It says the video was removed at Square Enix’s request, so at least there’s your explanation… Doesn’t look like it’s going to come back. Although I read the movie was shot from a certain angle anyway, so it’s not that big a loss.

LOL. Ah well. I don’t think I want to see any preview footage from the movie anyway. Even trailers these days often give away too much as it is.

We should really respect SQ-E’s wishes. Besides, their aim is "Mystery" i mean, look at KH2. Its so fricken’ quiet about the characters and storyline, they don’t show their faces or their entire body at all.

Don’t get me started on FF12…’s just a poster. Nothing else! No pictures, no media…nothing at all.

Well. Squenix were fools if they’d blurt out their secrets like this. They just give us enough to keep our interest awake, and stimulate our excitement. 🙂 It’s working.

i agree, but that was going along with it’s own story, which was a failure because there was really no time, like in all the other games, for us to get to know and like the characters, but you see, if you have played and beaten final fantasy 7, you already know the history, which peaks your interest into the outcome after a few years. they would actully HAVE to try and destroy this one to make it terrible, but anything which continues the rivalry between Cloud and Sephiroth, two of the most enigmatic characters ever, it has to be good

I dont think he should look like Marlyn Manson, (its the expression and the make-up), the only explination i can think of from both the poder-white faces of both cloud & seph is prob. something to do with jenova.

That might be true; but the fact that they’re messing around with characters from one of their games most loved by fans… I mean, it could make it harder, if they don’t pull it off as well as the fans want.

In the battle scene of the second video link (mega, mega thanks Mercutio for digging those out, by the way), you NEVER get a good look at the face of the guy who Cloud is fighting… Are we REALLY sure that he’s Sephiroth???

Granted, the guy in the flames looks just like Sephiroth, but I’m not so sure about the other one.

(Again, I am willing to step down if I prove to be wrong here, but it would explain the different look, anyhow. Either that, or Sephiroth just wanted a haircut.)

I knew they were gonna make a movie on this! I KNEW IT! I’ve never felt this nerdy in my life. I hope it’s good, and that they have the others guys in it. I sick of cloud’n’sephiroth. I wanna know more bout Barret or Tifa.

it seems like the gray-haired man is actually not sephiroth.. as some of you have already suggested. websites such as gamespot.com are even calling him a "mysterious gray-haired man," apart from the descriptions of sephiroth ( http://www.gamespot.com/ps/rpg/finalfantasy7/news_6076405.html ). also, i noticed that when the white hooded figure in the wheelchair raises his head, it looks an awful lot like sephiroth, and seems to immediately remind cloud of sephiroth raising his head like he did in nibelheim. i kind of like the theory that the gray-haired man is a clone. it would certainly help explain a little..

It’s pretty simple, guy fighting cloud = sephiroth, clone or real? probably real sephiroth. Ressurected or just never killed? It could be a clone though, i mean Seph from scene with flames is much more Sephiroth than the other.

Think about it the final jenova you fight in ff7 is called Jenova Synthesis – aka fake, plus ith doesn’t look like jenova either…
also guy in leather (seph) seems to defer to figure in white, and if jenova is alive it gives an explination of how sephiroth is still alive

Oh, and the figure that looks like Sephiroth is actually the guy fighting cloud, notice he bowed before the hand of the figure in white, then raised his head to look at (her? Jenova?), it wasn’t the figure in white raising it’s head.

I will eat a little "crow" so to speak.

The first images I saw did no impress me in the slightest. However, seeing the trailer they are easily great (my only problem is the guys always look so damn girly, its sickening.)

However, my story complaints are still there. I can still understand if they want to do a sequel of the aftermath, however its only 60 minutes. Its not going to be hugely elaborate and may just be a stylish action film rather than a deep grand epic like it should.

That and my fear is it will detract from the open for interpretation it had. For example:

My belief was Aeris is in fact alive at the end, because of hinted key words and many other lines. However, the people making this movie might overlook things the game purposely puts in place. Another example of this is the fact that the movie has already destoryed the belief that holy got rid of humans (However, the case for that was rather weak and flimsy and again, the peple doing this movie are not the same people who had the intentions of the game.)

I can say…I’m VERY CAUTIOUSLY optimistic.
