Okie dokie. One on one, battle royale, whatever, you just post pix and stuff here and challenge other people or vice versa. Oh, there are two different leagues, professional and standard, Standard means you use stuff like MSPaint and Professional is stuff like Photoshop, gottit? Good. There’s no real pic size limit but generally just try to keep to around 500×500.

Nonsense. I’m still reigning champion. A stupid groin kick followed by an uppercut can’t compete with Darn you football. Even Masakari’s image was better than yours. And his was only mediocre to sorta ok.

monotone pixel art battle.

Rules:

No using pixel modifying effects:

ie: blurring, transparencies, filters ,etc. Every color you put down has to be placed directly on the image. Likewise, no modifying pre-existing imagery. Use whatever program you want.

Full value range can be used for the color you happen to choose, as well as black and white. but no more than sixteen individual values can be used.

This is a year old and it was rushed with a mouse, but I think it’s enough to deal with whatever CRAP you guys produce.

I’m not entirely sure if this goes along with your rules, but I think it does:

The grey probably wouldn’t be allowed, but the two orangish hues may be. By "black and white" I meant literally black and white, and not greyscale.

Make a palette that has a gradient of white to orange(or whatever you want to choose), and then from orange to black, and choose your colors from there.
So the only way you could use greys is if your image is black and white entirely.

Looks pretty cool. Check out some old video game art to see how you should go about working with that sort of palette. It’s good to have at least 4 shades from light to dark to work with. Yeah, also tighten up the detailing, the sketchiness doesn’t work with such huge contrast between the black and the colors. On the other hand, doing it as black and white only or with perhaps darker values used for the colors it would probably be better.

Hmm… yeah, anyone else wanting to join in the challenge feel free. By, say, saturday, if enough people do, I can make a topic in GD where people can vote on it; you know, instead of me just deciding that I’ll keep winning.

More creative, more interesting, and yet simpler. Without the DBZ I may even say it was good.
Razer has no real talent. All he did was some really simple fading effects that even I can do, and I’m a McRetard when it comes to photoshop. Also, GG razer for the sides of the signature that look awful and low quality, really shows your skill. Dunno what you’re so confident about.

Anyway, Akira scares me. It was more odd than most anime.

Hm.. well. The one with kenshin it’s pretty nice and smoth. But i don’t see any graphic details in it. U just used some blur and shadows, nothing spesial.

The akira sig, it’s pretty cool. Maybe a little bit plain, but i think razes?+ yeah.. have add more graphic details and brushes.
So I think he deserves to win^^

Well here is mine. i’ve used about 20 mn on that. Okay i think:

done my one in about 5 min but its ok i geuss.

NOTE TO ALL: my biggest secret…

render some clouds then mosaic it.
then accented edges it.
then radial blur (zoom) it but not too much.
then mosaic it again( about 2 or 3 in size)
then accented edges again (remember ,make the accented edges thin both times)
thats it all done…

hm.. i must say that, i like yours better then mine^^. Mine is to plain compered to yours. Maybe i should darken it a little bit. well well. my opinion i think you is the best candidate to win^^
