– The first and most immediately thing I noticed was that the host said "Tie-dus" and not "Tee-dus." I guess this episode of the show was made before Kingdom Hearts revealed how his name was pronounced. This I can let go, since I myself pronunced it "Tie-dus" until I learned otherwise.
– Now the part that had me rolling on the floor was this: the host apparently had never even played the game because whenever he said Macalania, he pronounced it "Mack-a-lane-ia." I could barely control my laughter, listening to this.
– When I wasn’t laughing, I was mostly maning and groaning. The host, Cory Rouse, is a total tool, always cracking some lame joke or otherwise acting full of himself. Really annoying.
Towards the end of the show was that part where things started to descend into total comedy. The host is talking about how to power up Kimahri’s legendary weapon. He says that easy part is the butterfly challenge and the hard part is beating Seymour on Mt. Gagazet. Um, no. First he goes into explaining the butterfly challenge. He’s like, "oh, it’s so easy: just get all seven butterflies on both paths and look around if you can’t find them all." Yeah, um, okay. I think those of us who have grumbled about that infernal butterfly challenge know better. He then goes into the Saturn Crest, giving tips on how to beat Seymour. What he doesn’t say is that you don’t get the Saturn Crest for beating Seymour – it’s still a hidden item that you have to pick up along the path after you beat him.
One other thing I thought was really stupid was their "tips" for blitzball basically consisted of this: "keep playing until you win." Yeah, really helpful advice there. Basically just like their advice on the Chocobo Training: "get the balloons and don’t let the birds hit you."
Not that I don’t think it’s a good thread, it is…
Well, if anyone wants to discuss it now, since nobody did way back in 2004…
Oh — and lightning_burn — that’s interesting. I played KHII, but I’m not sure I caught that. In the original KH, they say "Tee-dus." And yeah, if it’s based of Japanese tida (which makes sense, given that in order to power up Tidus’s Celesital Weapon, you need the Sun Crest and the Sun Sigil), then yeah, it’s "Tee-dus."

This was actually aired on TV?! oO

But…ah….hm.
…How do you really pronounce "Macalania"…?
NO, I do NOT pronounce it the way that guy does…No no no, I don’t. I don’t!
I’m just asking.
Really! Honest.
…..
Don’t look at me like that!!! Just tell me how it’s pronounced.
…No laughing!
are you… babbling about?
So how do you pronounce "Macalania"?
Or revive old threads.
