Cloud vs. Squall

Well, they are both good, but maybe Cloud? But Squall is good too.

i’d say cloud his spells a much puwefuls than squall’s or meaby ………….dude you are sick they are both good i’d must say it’ll be a tie XD

cloud is the coolest! clouds huges sword is much cooler than squalls gunblade. all squall says is s is "…..whatever….." cloud is my favorite

Cloud and Squall both have strong limits, but maybe Cloud would use Omnislash or Squall will use Lionheart. But both limits are strong, and who will win?? It’s a hard choice. But Cloud’s weapons were stronger than Squall, so Cloud would probably win. uh, i’m just confusing myself!

by far cloud is cooler than squall but in a battle i’m not sure because they are both great warriors. i think squall might have abit of an advantage due to his garden military training

FFVIII isn’t for everyone, but it is a good game with a good story.

I would at least give it a try- the worst that could come of it is that you don’t like it that much.

haha those pics are from Kingdom Hearts!! i loved that game!! sephiroth looked really kick ass in that game… and he also kicked my ass when i fought him… lol hardest boss i ever faced in kingdom hearts..

but anyways back on the subject… i definetly think cloud would win.. he’s just so awesome… and he looks a hell of a lot cooler! so i go with cloud all the way! i would be cloud over squall anyday

OH COME ON!! Sora from Kingdom Hearts whiped both of their asses at the same time! He also beat Sephiroth in a friendly one on one dual. Anyway, both Cloud and Squall are whiners. But my favorite part in FFVII was when Tifa went inside Cloud’s head, and he had all of those identitys. BAD ASS. Squall did’nt have anything like that. But the Lionheart versus the Omnislash. It would come down to who had more stamina, but Squall could Junction all of the GFs. Squall maybe?

sorry to raid on your party but sora isn’t in this battle if you want to go make a thread about sora kicking ass. as for this thread it is hard to choose squall and his training at garden and cloud with his strength power

But back to stamina, what is the most effective armor in FF-VII? And should Squall junction auto haste he would get the drop on Cloud. Oh, and is the Ragnarock the most powerful sword in FF-VII?

first of all if i was rooting for squall i would say yes on auto haste and as for armor and sword i don’t know i just ran right through the game the only thing i cared about was the materia

Statistacly cloud would win but at limit breaks squall wins clouds Omnislash hits 14-16 times Squall uses Ranzozuken = 6 hits + Lionheart tht is 14-16 hits so about 20 – 22 hits with a 9999 attack versus only about a max of 16 squall will win. Cloud is my Fav FF char and i just Finished FF8 and still not even finished FF7 still Squall shall win because his Limit has more attacks and even then if all of them missed he could just summon eden and unlease a attack up to 99999 on cloud then again there is final attack materia with KOR tht would kill squall so in any battle it would be a Tie because with all of the right prep’s there is no winner unless it comes down to just normal attacks then cloud wins in 1 hit Squall cant hit a 9999 in a normal hit

well first i would vote for squall being a ff hero without blonde hair plus the lion heart would win out of best looking swords squall has more gf/summons but cloud has kotr

Cloud would win. The gunblade wouldn’t be able to handle the buster sword. But abilities alone, Cloud would still win.

Don’t make fun o the KeyBlade just coz it looks like a big Key it is a Good Weapon for a kid to have my Teacher said tht if a Adult gives a kid a key it means they trust em well i Trust Sora to kick ass with tht key so do not make fun o it.

Cloud was drunk and had stayed up for 96 hours straight when he lost to Sora! Anyway, I maintain that Cloud would win. Of course, if there was a FF fighting game (like my idea for a SSBM-style FF fighter- check out the thread!) it would be more fun to just fight and determine that way.

Yes there is, I own that game. It’s not all FF characters though, only Cloud, Tifa, Seph, and Yuffie. The others you can fight with are from other games.

Squall vs Cloud? hmmm…

I really don’t know. I love Cloud, he’s really cool, but I’m attracted to people like Squall who don’t let you get to know them. I liked Squall in the game. Cloud is probably a better person, but Squall has more of a personality all together. He changes too, which I like. But I guess I have to stand loyal to Cloud.

The fact that Cloud lost to Sora is a bad example. First of all, The main characters always win in their games, i mean Sora beat Sephiroth… Second, Sora had donald, goofy, heal potions, and magic. He couldn’t beat Cloud with out any of those. If Cloud had his limit breaks, and materia he would of won easily.

i feel a distinct clashing of loyalties, as i just mentioned to my friend here (silly wench thinks it’s a simple question[of course, i mean "wench" with the kindest of connotations =) ])

back to the point, there are some technicalities that must be addressed, and if anyone else covered these, forgive me. first off, we need to know what level these two fella are at when they are fighting, what kinda materia/armor cloud is sporting, how mr squall is junctioned(elementally, status, blah dah blee) If squall happened to have 100 blinds on his status attack, and cloud wasn’t equipped to defend against it, this’d be a rough fight for him to win. On the other hand, Cloud seems to carry the title of the Original Badass for newschool RPGers. I haven’t completed FF7 yet, so i cannot say who i think would win, but i can say i’d pay to see the fight.

too bad it wasn’t tidus vs cloud, i’d love to see that little jock get spanked, hehee.

Squall would easily win. He could just use an item to make himself invincible and then clean Cloud’s clock. He can also use aura to use his limit break repeatedly, something that Cloud cant do.

in terms of weapons

Lionheart atk 30 atk% ( hit %) 255
Ultima weapon atk 100, atk %110

so Squall is more accurate, but cloud hits harder. = draw

Limit breaks (max stats)

Omnislash 18-22 hits at 9999 ( I have attempted to count but its too fast)
Lion heart 18-22 hits at 9999 ( i believe, havent actually got the weapon or LB yet)

So again a draw (Cloud could build his up before the fight, Squall could cast Aura)

Defenseive / offensive capability

Squall can junction magics to his statistics and defense
Cloud can equip materia and amour and accessories

Cloud wins here, the combination of the Ribbon (total status protection) and materia just give him the edge i think ( especially things like pre-emptive). and item like the power vest give him boosted strenth ( altough he could only have one or the other)

Magic

Squall can cast 100 of whatever spell he has
Cloud has to distribute a maximum of 999 points between the spells he has (including summons)

Squall wins here, as long as his GFs have Hp they can be cast

Support

Squall has a 6 member team
Cloud has a (surviving) 8 member team

Cloud wins this one, (come on he has Vincent as a sharpshooter)

Character stats

I cant remember but i think that, with out junctioning or special items, Clouds stats are higher than Squalls

Overall i think Squal is just a Cloud imitaion ( same attitude at the start, same type of final limit attack) oh and Cloud failed to become a SOLDIER…however in disc 2 ( or was it 3) Cloud says "physically i’m built like a member of SOLDIER", and the doctor ( when clouds in a coma) says that Cloud has had a lot of information put into his brain so my moneys on Cloud but there are alot of things that could affect the outcome of the battle

While Vincent might have been a "cool vampire guy with a gun," Irvine was a developed character who actually mad sense.
