My absolute favorite is Rie Tanaka. She’s best known as Chii, but she voice acted in Azumanga Daioh and hack//sign as well. She has the sweetest, cutest voice I’ve ever heard- I always fall in love with whatever character she does.
I also really like Kikuko Inoue- another Chobits voice actress. I fell in love with her voice when I heard her as Belldandy, though.
I also have to give props to Sh Hayami. I don’t know all that much that he’s done, but he voiced Orson in Lodoss War, and he was what really made me fall in love with his character.
Kotono Mitsuishi – I first paid attention to her for her role as Kanzaki in GTO. Later, I found out she was associated with some more of my favorite characters, such as Excel from Excel Saga.
Isshin Chiba – He usually does supporting roles, but he’s always done good work.
Hikaru Midorikawa – This guy’s list goes on forever. Some of my favorites of his roles are Ryuho from Scryed, Zelgadis from Slayers, Faust from Saber Marionette J, and Kikuchi from GTO.
Koichi Yamadera – Longtime voice of Captain Harlock and Tochiro Oyama, two of my favorite characters (not just anime) ever. Some other roles of his were Spike from Cowboy Bebop, Kaji from Evangelion, Ryoga from Ranma, and Togusa from Ghost in the Shell.
Megumi Hayashibara – You live in a cave if you don’t know this name. She has over a hundred voice credits to her name and still more in various production roles.
My favorite English speaking voice actors/actresses are Lex Lang, Monica Rial, Lia Sargent, Steve Blum, and Crispin Freeman. Mind you, those are only the ones who I’ve seen consistently good voice work from. There are others that I might’ve only seen once or twice, so can’t really judge fairly.
Still, I do have a few favourites though:
Wendee Lee: (Faye Valentine in Cowboy Bebop, the Su sisters Kaolla and Amalla plus Tama and Kuro in Love Hina and Love Hina Again, Urd in Adventures of the Mini Goddesses as well as quite a few others)
Crispin Freeman (Juteski Tylor in Irresponsible Captain Tylor, Amon in Witch Hunter Robin, Alex Rowe in Last Exile, as well as many others..)
David Lucas (Spike Spiegel in Cowboy Bebop, Celestine in Ah! My Goddess the Movie, Vincent Alzy in Last Exile etc)
There are a few others I like too, but their names elude me at the moment!
Unfortunately, I’m not that familiar with English speaking voice actors, at least not anime-wise. I can tell you all sorts of people who voice act in cartoons.
If Kevin Conroy or Phil LaMarr started voice acting for anime, I might start paying more notice to dubbed versions.
Ah, Kevin Conroy. . . .*swoon*
I like Akira Ishida most. He has a very nice voice, somehow I find it gentle, soothing. He seems to speak a character in almost every anime, too… XD
The other seiyuu I’m really fond of are Noriko Hidaka and Ken Narita.
Kappei Yamaguchi (Inuyasha, Ryuichi, Tombo… XD) is definitely my all-time favorite seiyuu. He’s the only guy I’ll watch an anime JUST because he’s in it. I bow to his awesomeness. By far my favorite role of his is Inuyasha. When I heard his voice, I was like, "Holy HECK, that IS Inuyasha."
The other seiyuu I’m really fond of are Noriko Hidaka and Ken Narita.
Kappei Yamaguchi IS awesome. Everyone is making me think of all sorts of voice actors I forgot in my first post.
Someone else I forgot who I think is really great is Kotono Mitsuishi.
Such a great and wonderful voice!!! XD Zelgadis is only Zelgadis when Hikaru-sama is his voice actor. U_U
Magumi Hayashibara for shes awesome! Lina is just great with her voice, isnt she?
Kazes voice actor from Final Fantasy: Unlimited … I cannot remember his name. >_< shame on me. But hes also incredible when he fires his Demongun. Really cool indeed!!!
Micheal from Witch Hunter Robin. He is just too cute and funny when he says: "Okay!" Cmon people admit it XD!
Well, I am not going to say Matt McKenzie for he never did any work on animes… not YET!!!! =D
"Lady Auron"
In other words, you’re a big fan of the Inu Yasha cast in general. But have you ever heard them in anything else?
Yes, I have. I heard all the seiyuu in other roles, and it just happens that I’m especially fond of their Inuyasha characters. Just because I didn’t list anyone else doesn’t mean I haven’t heard anyone else, I just like them the most. 😛 *shrugs*
Throwing well-known Japanese words into your english posts really makes you look pretentious. I’m not handing out orders to not do it. I’m just saying that I will express my dislike for it, probably in a very degrading manner.
But back on topic, another one of my favorites is Megumi Toyoguchi.
But seriously, what’s the point? Is there any reason to do that other than to show what a great "otaku" you are? Speak whatever languages you want, I just don’t like people trying to look cool by mixing them.
Now if I were to randomly scream at you and say, "temee wa hontou ni baka baka bakakakakakakakka da naa baka baka!" then THAT would be making me look silly. 😛
So… right. Can we possibly get any more off-topic? I’m not saying anything more to you about this. You can think I’m trying to look "cool and pretentious," I’m just using a word that came to me frikking naturally. If that bothers you, then that’s your problem. 🙂
Whatever. In my experience, most people are trying to look cool. Most people don’t speak Japanese at home and I have no way of knowing who does. Since that’s the case, I’ll give you a pass. Anyone else is fair game though. 😉
Oh come on. I’ve been around here long enough you should know that kind of thing doesn’t irritate me. I lick my lips and set to work humiliating people.

Quit saying anime. They’re called cartoons in english.
Quit saying anime. They’re called cartoons in english.
ACK! I’ve been pwn’d!
Megumi Hayashibara – Heck, I think she’s the most popular seiyuu.
Megumi Toyoguchi – OMG! I love the way she dubbed Mimiru of .hack//sign. I’m dying to hear her voice on Marimite (Megumi, Megumi, quite a popular name, eh? ^_^ There’s another one, Megumi Ogata, but she’s not my favorite. I can’t believe they chose her to dub for Kenshin >_<)
Fumiko Orikasa – Meia-neesamaaaaa ^_^
Kappei Yamaguchi – Oh! So masculine! ^_^
Masako Nozawa

* Witch Hunter Robin – Jean (doll), Mamoru Kudō
* Wolf’s Rain – Lady Jagura
* X – Kanoe
And more… She IS the Major
Aya Hisakawa – My most favorite seiyuu, I have heard her in about over 20 roles and I loved her as Ami-chan/Mercury. She is also a really good singer.
Kikuko ’17’ Inoue – I first heard her in Ah! My Goddess and she voices Belldandy perfectly. On of my favorites. She can do roles in her low-toned voice very well but only heard it once and that was Miria from Claymore.
Kotono Mitsuishi – When I think of this seiyuu I think of Sailor Moon but she did an excellent job as Excel because her voice never broke in that series – a true professional never breaks his/her voice – kudos to Mitsuishi.
I am slowly liking Nana Mizuki’s voice ever since watching Rosario+Vampire and Heartcatch Precure. I am also growing on Houko Kuwashima after watching a few roles by her. Michie Tomizawa is also another old favorite – she is so badass in Black Lagoon as Roberta.
Urara Takano – She sings beautiful and she’s cute in Maria’s (from Sakura Taisen) wig. <3
Mamiko Noto, Michie Tomizawa, Ai Orikasa.
My favorite male seiyuu is probably Yuuichi Nakamura. I could listen to him all day. I loved him as Kyousuke Kousaka. And he’s just perfect for Houtarou Oreki.
