Bad parent with good intentions :p

He just didnt know how to express himself, he was so into blitzball that I guess he never interacted so closley to a child before. So, when he had a child he just didnt know how to treat him. But Jecht did want Tidus to become a strong able child, and thats why he didnt want Tidus to cry.. because he wanted tidus to face his problems and solve them without pain. He loved him, hes just one of those macho men that cant admit that they are REALLY sensitive :p

in the beginning he seemed like a bad parent, but as it turns out he was really parenting as he felt he should, his intentions were better than they seemed, he was a great parent as it turned out, he just couldnt express his skills in a way Tidus would comprehend.
In truth i believe that Tidus’ mother was the bad parent.

Jecht!

Very useful reply there Shiruzo. Very useful. Please, try and refrain from posting unless you’re actually going to help.

Jecht was a pain in the ass for me to kill in the first playthrough. It took me six or seven attempts. What I did was to disable the pagodas so that they stopped strengthening him and healing him. I used Armour and Mental Break with Auron to lower his stats and then used Lulu’s magic and physical attacks until he drew his sword out of his chest.

Jecht has a high power move once he does this which Tidus can talk him out of once or twice. It’s a trigger command that calms Jecht down. Bring in some of your Aeons (in Overdrive mode, if you can be bothered to charge up the Overdrives.) Hopefully this should be enough to defeat Jecht.

Yeah, that would work but if you have the Magus Sisters ,you only have to summon them two times and he should die. But really my method his not fun you have no challenge. But if you are desperate…

Jecht is an incredibly cheap boss, I take one turn, then he and the pagodas take six turns, even if I have high agility (or whatever governs it, can’t remember)

anyway, just try to keep it simple, I don’t bother to touch the pagodas, it just wastes a turn and makes things worse for me. Attack for more than 3000 damage so you can make a difference, and have auron use zombie attack, then he’ll only heal 1500 per turn
