Last anime watched?

The last anime I watched was a fansub of Gunslinger Girl, and I thought it was fantastic, albeit throughly depressing.

But if you mean the last new anime, then that would be Captain Herlock: Endless Odyssey. Herlock’s as cool as ever, though it probably isn’t for most kids since it has very mature themes. It ended a bit strangely though…

I also got Crest of the Stars earlier today, but I haven’t sat down to watch all three discs of it yet, as I’m too tired to sit through anime tonight.

The tv series is one of my favorite shows. It’s far better than the OVA, at least to the point I’ve seen.

I liked Final Fantasy Unlimited, but I didn’t think that Square Enix could pull off a really top quality anime, but Fullmetal Alchemist is quickly becoming one of my favourites ^^;

Well, it’s about a guy called Hideki Motosuwa who moves out of the farmer life into a prep school [in Tokyo]. Hideki finds a ‘Persocom’ [robotic thing that can do almost anything] in the streets & decides to take it home [of which he decides to name Chi].

As the story unfolds Hideki finds that this is no ordinary Persocom, this is a legendary Chobits! And, because of this, hidden behind the sweet innocent Chi is a dark secret, of which Hideki seeks to find out.

It’s pretty good. But it can get a bit… let’s just say revealing in some places.

Absolutely hilarious ! I love it.

I always recently watched ‘Crying Freeman’ which is so ridiculous I found it amusing.

But one which still leaves many unanswered questions… A little bit obscure, somewhat apocalyptic, and maybe even transcendental. A remarkable conclusion to an awesome series. And, the ending only served to show just how bloody awesome the airship Silvana really is!

Perhaps there is some truth in the rumour that Studio GONZO really is planning on producing a second season to Last Exile some time in the near future, as there are still a few plot lines left hanging at the very end…

I found Trigun to be quite enjoyable as well, the build up in it was well done, I thought. However, I felt the ending was a little anit-climatic, but that’s just me.

Just finished watching the entire OVA series of The Irresponsible Captain Tylor. I have to admit this is a pretty damn good series, which I highly recommend to everyone to see.

I’ve been thinking about buying that show for quite a while. I’m kind of glad you reminded me about it since there’ll be a new box set out soon. Also, after looking it up while typing this, I found that it was directed by Koichi Mashimo. I love quite a few of his shows, so I can’t pass it up.

I spent yesterday watching quite a bit of new material. I got my hands on an advance copy of the final volume of Onegai Twins on DVD, as well as the first DVDs of Midori Days and Kyo Kara Maoh.

I thought it was really good.. i liked that it was based on a storyline and not action…

ive seen a few lately:zachbell, teen titans, one piece, and a bunch others i cant remember. yet i still feal an unsatisfied feeling inside as if they didnt show enough anime after noon before midnight

Very good, but also very unique, and you could see the many in-jokes and references to Matsumoto’s past works, including one of the characters wearing Harlock’s distinctive jacket. The music was pretty good too.

A blast from the past (from circa 1989), but still an awesome anime even after all these years (it was a Japanese/European co-production).

I’m hoping that some distributor will locate the licence for this, and give it the DVD treatment, as watching it on a bootleg (copied off someone’s old VHS recording from years ago) just doesn’t do it justice..

Oh well.

Currently, I’m revisiting Maho Tsukai Tai/Magic Users Club. I had forgotten just how much I loved that show.

Liking it so far.

Anyways, I am taking my time with it, mostly because there are only 13 episodes. Usually watch one after a hard days study, but NO MORE. Although, I say a "hard days study" but actually bumming about the interweb like this is probably the largest part of it. ;(

anyways, it is quite the odd show, but I am liking it. almost like david lynch in a way. well, not really. but kinda. :/ also, the fact that most of the computing stuff has a basis in reality is quite cool imo. ALSO the "be" in "to be continued" at the end is the exact same as the BeOS logo. thinking it must be intentional. uh, yeah, I’m easily impressed. ;-;

Now watching Suzumiya Haruhi No Yuutsu (The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya). Awesome series so far (I’m on ep. 12). A ton of anime references, weird plot/disordered episodes, overall hilarious and really well done.

If not, then the last anime I have seen was ‘Ouran High School Host Club’ episode 6 with subs.

Well, I went ahead and started reading the manga. I’m nearing the end of what GH has hosted (I have no clue whether that’s actually the end or not), but mostly just on pure stubbornness. It did exactly what I was afraid it would do; lost sight of what made it so neat in the first place and forced the story onward when it should have been short and sweet.

Frankly, the only way I could possibly care about the anime at this point is if it is completely rewritten to end earlier and do so decisively.

Anyway, I just finished up NHK ni Youkoso(Welcome to the NHK) and Elfen Lied. I loved both of them very much from start to finish. Now I’m working on Death Note and Kanon.

but it wasn’t really the end. O_o in a way. it litterally gave a preview of the next episode and there isn’t even supposed to be any unless you count the first episodes of the next series/season known as angel wings.

i hope they air it on anime on demand. :p

So yeah, I’m working on the 1st GiG of Stand Alone Complex. It sucks because my 1st GiG is subbed and my 2nd GiG is dubbed. Not to mention how the first movie is dubbed and the Innocence isn’t. It’s quite the pain in the ass sometimes, but either way, GITS is always good.

I’m also anticipating Solid State Society. Q1 of 2007.

lol I work part time at a video store. Reason I had watched so much though was cause my net was capped and was annoyingly slow and I couldn’t find my PS2, weather was crappy to go out and take photos so I sat and watched anime 😀
I’ve gone through a few more series since then, will have to post them up when I get back from work, or tomorrow, either way. I’ve just sent one of my spare 320GB external HDDs off to a friend who will be returning it with a whole new lineup of anime for me to watch 😀

Also I work in a video store and I’ve convinced the managers on an Anime section. Anything on my HDD that has the tag ( DVD ) means that I have it on DVD and more than likely have copied it from the store. Reason I put it up there is so that friends who view my list can see what I’ve got and ask for it.

Example of how I acquire my collection. Tonight at work a customer who I got into anime purchased Tenjho Tenge and Orphen on DVD (Box Sets) and he’s given them to me to copy. If I get a series then I’ll do the same for him 🙂

i struggle with this all the time. and it gives me headaches sometimes. so far my attempts are far from perfect. (at least when i try to re-burn the rip i made i always get the sound and video out of sync halfway through the movie) but they’re perfect on the pc. i sometimes use magicdvdripper if the dvd is old enough to work with it. most new one’s don’t though so i got dvdfab. but i haven’t found a crack for it and i don’t like looking for serials or cracks anymore because those sites are full of shitty malware.

but in anycase. i’d still appreciate just knowing how many eps are in your macross zero folder so i can know if i have a completed series or if i am missing episodes. and I’m dying of curiosity of what titles you got under your hentai folder. :p

btw. what internet service do you have where you can find out what your limits are? do i have limites? i’ve never come across them i think. i should prolly try it out one day. so it’s like you got a quota/limit or something? man that suxors. ah well.

My Macross Zero folder contains 5 episodes which is how many were released as far as I know.

Hentai folder only has a few things in there, Elfen Laid (cause I thought it had something to do with Elfen Lied), Bible Black Origins (cause I thought it was interesting) and Taboo Charming Mother (cause it makes me laugh). That’s all that’s in my hentai folder.

Oh and my internet service is with a company called Bigpond here in Australia. It’s probably one of the only companies that still counts uploads towards quota but when I got the net it was the only thing available in the area that was fast enough for my tastes. Other companies have come since then and when my contract ends with Bigpond I’ll be swapping over.

What can I say, it was stunning to say the least. The amount of atmosphere that Studio Ghibli inject into their movies is quite staggering. After being impressed by some of there movies I just bought Princess Mononoke and Grave of the Fireflies on Amazon, it should be here by Wednesday. Last thing I watched was a few episodes of Boogiepop Phantom and some Tokyo Majin Gakuen Kenpuchuo. ^^

I also just watched the first episode of Zombie-Loan. Interesting thing going on so I’ll probably keep tabs on it. Same goes for Mahou Shoujo Lyrical Nanoha StrikerS, the action and conflict is picking up now rather nicely ^_^

All in all, Madhouse’s anime adaptation of Norihiro Yagi’s manga was top-notch from episodes 1-19; however, eps. 20-26, especially the last few episodes, were done in a piss poor fashion. Coincidentally, the story starts to divert from the manga at episode 20. Quite frankly, their original take on the series was shoddily produced, so if you’re not aware by now, you’ll soon find that you were setting yourself up for disappointment.

If you haven’t already, I suggest you read the manga. I highly recommend it!

Lovely Complex, however, is a thumbs-up fun anime! What I really like about it is that there’s a mix of every genre: comedy, drama, romance, etc.

To begin with, I found this one a tad slow going. However, I ended up liking it much better than I thought I would and thought that overall it was pretty well done.

MOVING STORY BETWEEN MANAPHY AND HARUKA IMO

I was on the episode where Mugen killed Sara in battle. Man she was cool…before she DIED that is.

Sequel to the original GitS movie. Not as excellent as the original but still good. Has one of the best and funniest lines ever.

Was a little disappointed TCR’s story wasn’t longer than it was, but overall found it to be a decent and entertaining watch.

As for Bloodlust, thought it was excellent. Without a doubt, the best vampire anime movie I’ve seen yet!

When I say young, I’m kind of exaggerating, so I’ll explain. My parents were one of those old-fashioned couples who didn’t get cable for the family until about ’98 or ’99: a year or two after Sailor Moon went off the air. Actually, I didn’t even have my own TV until about the time G Gundam went on the air. So, in a way, I am too young to have caught Sailor Moon.

Now, since Transformers G1 went off the air a month after I was born, I’m too young to have been a part of the original Transformer’s fanbase. Make of that what you will.

And don’t worry, I’m not offended. It was kind of a weird sentence.

The first one left me feeling pretty sad at the end. but Genshiken was not a let-down, other than that I felt it should keep going. I was really quite irritated with Genshiken for a few episodes until now. Sasahara’s bad fortune and dreariness was getting on my nerves. I say again, however, it was an excellent ending.

I could definitely tell that Kono minikuku mo Utsukushii Sekai was produced by the same studio as Mahoromatic from the eyes, hair, and faces, but it seemed they did a much better job with environmental details. It was an excellent production.

So far it’s not roused my interest to the point I feel I could watch hours of it. But I like it better than I initially expected I would, and feel it’s likely it could grow on me further once I’ve seen more.

I’ve been watching that, too. I’m further along in the Japanese version, but it seems that the American version is catching up to me (as it’s been a looooong time since I’ve watched the Japanese version).

I finished it last night, and I do believe its the best thing i’ve watched so far. (Wonder if i’ll be burned for saying that here, ah well) I honestly think it was too short, and I’ve never said that about anything before either.

I think Azumanga Daioh will be next.

At the beginning, when the narration started, I thought nearly the same thing. By the time the opening narration ended, however, I was completely absorbed.

The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya has the perfect blend of seriousness and comedy.

Yeah no kidding. I went into it thinking "Ok so it’s another "Students at school" anime like Azumanga Daioh". I was really pleased to see that they kept things original.

If it is in anime order and you want it in an order that makes sense wiki the show and it has a nice chart that will order it for you at a click of a button.

Yeah that is true, having the big ending at like episode 6 was kind of a drag but when I watched it I noticed that in many episodes referenced the "last" episode. I personally prefer to see what they are referencing before they reference it instead of waiting till the end and thinking "Oh, so that’s what they were talking about".

But you are right Prak. The "last" episode in the anime work have been a lot better if it was the actual last episode instead of mid-way.

I have been reading that they are making a second season. Other reports say they are doing some type of movie-thing. Do any of you know if any of them are true?

On another note, the books really are worth checking out. You can find them translated here (http://www.baka-tsuki.net/project/index.php?title=Suzumiya_Haruhi). There’s no harm in skipping the first if you saw the anime, but I especially recommend reading the second one. It tells about the filming of the movie shown in the first episode, which is more bizarre than even the anime episode would lead you to believe.

I am happy to hear it is a new season, it sounded better than a movie. I am really pumped for it.

What I mean by huge anime is the amount of episodes. I like to own (whether boxsets or downloaded) my anime. Naruto was easy to get because a friend had them all in .avi on his computer. Bleach would be more complicated to hunt down all the episodes. I also have been trying to steer clear of torrent sites. *shrug* Perhaps I will download some episodes of Bleach and see if it’s worth the effort to hunt it down.

You’re slightly right, Orochimaru was killed by Sasuke but (since you’ve read the latest manga) if you remember when Kabuto was talking to Naruto and the group (when they were searching for Sasuke) he told them that he transplanted some of Orochimaru’s remains into himself and it was taking over his body. So therefore he’s not really dead, just a bit preoccupied with taking over a new body.

Regarding the topic, the latest anime i’ve been watching is Death Note, it’s better in the manga though some parts aren’t as cheesy.

13 episodes is plenty. and from reading the previous page, i prefer watching the series in its airing order, it kept me more on edge. also, i prefer the subbed version, Wendee Lee cant voice a psycopath to save her life.

Found this to be one of the strangest, but also most enjoyable, anime’s I’ve yet seen. I’m already re-watching it.

And I dunno if I glimpsed this correctly, but I could have sworn I read somebody LOVED "school days"?? I surely hope I’m wrong. There were virtually no redeeming factors on overall artistic values – it was boring and the eye candy sucked. The ending sucked. The main character sucked. Their cell phones sucked. They even draw rain sucky. I draw better water. It really lacked any kind of attention grabbing substance. I don’t even know why I watched the whole thing last summer. I could have finished playing Spellforce at this time! Damn, that choice sucked. I want a redo.

But yeah, GSG II and possible up to 4 others will be picked up this semester if I can decide. The winter list seems a bit smaller this year.

Also, I don’t like the big slanted eyes that drawing style gives to females. Big, non-slanted is fine to me.

So, yes, I wouldn’t recommend it. It was a slap in the face to anime romance genres, which I usually like. Speaking of which, I had finished Lamune not too many days before trying School Days. Lamune was a slight bit on the "too slow" side, but I liked it overall. It left me with a good feeling, whereas School Days left me gritting my teeth with contempt for its main character.

I really did like the anime as a whole. It was hilarious more often than not, and it had a fair ending, although some convenient memory loss makes the ending seem like nothing was really accomplished– the main character grew stronger, sure, but every thing was "back to normal."

Bleach was enjoyable, but not exactly an action struggle. This episode was more aimed at comedy, sadly to say it was pretty funny. This guy names a move "infinite slick", he does it once then Ushida says, "Use infinite slick again!". He gets ready to use it then nothing happens the guy says

" I guess it ran out"

"Why’d you call it infinite slick, if it could run out?"

"Because infinite slick sounds cooler"

There’s some other good jokes in there, and of course it japanese so some of them are pretty perverted. I won’t give away the end but the action starts at the last 5 minutes.

It is mostly flashbacks but i was really impressed with it. I still can’t believe it is an anime based on a video game (and not the other way around).

I thought this series got dragged out for longer than necessary. And found it slightly disappointing the ending wasn’t a bit more conclusive. But other than that, enjoyed watching this show alot.

Bleach Semi-delivers, it had several action scenes. And Atleast 2/5 of the "major" fights is done. So maybe the plot will pick back up in 3-5 episodes.

I personally enjoyed it. Not an extremely serious plot like most anime so it was a nice change of pace. A lot of laugh out loud moments.

I do have to roll my eyes at some of the unnecessary aspects of this decidedly shojo anime, however. For instance, take the occasional flowery overlays. Scratch that, the frequent flowery overlays. Also, the environments were consistently flower tinted. It seemed rather gimmicky, and in the irritating sense of the word.

Ah well. Even if it was an anime I definitely would not intentionally watch in the presence of others, I loved it just the same.

I’d recommend Gungrave, it’s really great. The whole feel is completely enthralling.

If you want one that is not on adult swim I recommend Fate/Stay Night. I found it very enjoyable, and it’s easily watchable on Stage6.com. I believe it took me a day or 3.

Edit: just finished Gungrave, a greater anime about loyalty, friendship, and comradeship never existed. I love the last episode, but episodes 2-14 are pure greatness. I may buy the DVD.

Without a doubt, this has to be the most disturbing anime series I’ve watched yet. But at the same time very gripping.

I started watching that one myself recently, as was curious to see why the show’s as popular as it is. Have to say so far I’ve found it too slow moving to really get into, though plan to watch more at some point.

I aim to sometime have watched all the episodes and movies, seeing as digimon was my childhood thangggg.

One thing that surprised me about it was the obvious but not particularly forced "ecchi" traits. Does that make it "tasteful?" Anyway…

Hellsing Ultimate – Basically the retelling of events of Hellsing up to where Alucard goes to South America. They redid all important battles to. The scene in the Museum is also included and still very funny!

YAY. That anime is excellent. I also like the music.

I really enjoyed this movie version of the first part of the old series. They retold it very well. It was similar to the show but it looks like the other movies will be moving in a different direction than in the show. I am very excited to see how the rest of these movies will compare to the show.

Latest watch: Madlax ep. 16. Series feels kind of dry for some reason but I really want to know what happened with the two girls in their past.

Just finished another series, Kimikiss Pure Rouge. Frankly, I’m irked. Almost all of the series is Kouichi developing a relationship with Hoshino, and then that just falls flat in the end. Pfft.

At least things worked out with Futami and Aihara, even thought they were kind of an odd couple.
