Pointless Music

I was just wondering, what do you think is the most pointless style of music or most pointless song ever created.

I would have to say that perhaps the worse kind of music, is and will always be Emo. Damn i hate that sh*t.

That’s not it at all, only, we’ve been through this a million times – where people think certain types of music are arbitrarily bad – so you must have a good reason for stating this!

I think that the most pointless genres of music are : rock, metal, classical, punk, nu metal, speed metal, trash metal, death metal, black metal, heavy metal, classic rock, modern rock, alternative rock, pop, indie, tweepop, hardcore punk, grindcore, emo, skacore, screamo, hip hip, rap, ska, reggae, jazz, bebop, lo fi, retroist, krautrock, dance, trance, garage, disco, new wave, electroclash and britpop.

I especially hate bands that are on major labels – sellouts! people who listen to them are ovbvioulsy POSERS! I also hate bands on small labels – their fans just want to gain cred points by listening to bands nobody has heard of! …. I hate that sh*t!

…. I just don’t see the point of any of that! I mean, all of it is completely pointless.

Eh, I don’t think any music is pointless, really. Not everything appeals to me, but there’s a reason every song out there was written.

And how can emo be pointless? Without emo, there would be no "Indie sucks, Hardline sucks, Emo sucks, You suck", and the world would be a sadder place.

No style of music is pointless because they are all there to entertain people, and I think they all do, whether they entertain you or not.

If all you wanted to do was make a thread to say that you don’t like emo, you should have just done that.

All kind of music is NOT pointless.

Though I have to say… death metal is sort of pointless because… all I hear is… roar……… screaming….. go crazy, haha… but… I still like it haha, cause of the drummers, etc… they always the best.

I don’t think there is any pointless music, as long as SOMEONE likes it. If only one person were to like a one certain type of music, and another person likes a different type, then it’s not pointless, because each gets entertainment from that type. 😉

This question/thread is pointless

everyone will say something different is pointless, some will think pop is pointless others will think Rap is and others will think that Heavy metal is.

Personally I only like soundtrack stuff because it captures the moment and feelings in a film even if its a sad -Im gonna die – type song or an agressive – Im gonna kick the sh*t outa you (can we swear here?) – so if a type of music appears on the soundtrack I might like it but i wont then go out and buy the album of the artist
