SLOW DANCE
Have you ever watched kids
On a merry-go-round?
Or listened to the rain
Slapping on the ground?
Ever followed a butterfly’s erratic flight?
Or gazed at the sun into the fading night?
You better slow down.
Don’t dance so fast.
Time is short.
The music won’t last.
Do you run through each day
On the fly?
When you ask How are you?
Do you hear the reply?
When the day is done
Do you lie in your bed
With the next hundred chores
Running through your head?
You’d better slow down
Don’t dance so fast.
Time is short.
The music won’t last.
Ever told your child,
We’ll do it tomorrow?
And in your haste,
Not see his sorrow?
Ever lost touch,
Let a good friendship die
Cause you never had time
To call and say,"hi"
You’d better slow down.
Don’t dance so fast.
Time is short.
The music won’t last.
When you run so fast to get somewhere
You miss half the fun of getting there.
When you worry and hurry through your day,
It is like an unopened gift….
Thrown away.
Life is not a race.
Do take it slower
Hear the music
Before the song is over.
PLEASE send this poem to everybody you know.
It is the request of a special little girl who will soon leave this world as she has cancer.
Please send this to everyone you know or don’t know. This little girl has 6 months left to live, and as her dying wish, She wanted to send a letter telling everyone to live their life to the fullest, since she never will. She’ll never make it to prom, graduate from high school, or get married and have a family of her own……………………..
By you sending this to as many people as possible, you can give her and her family a little hope, because with every name that this is sent to, The American Cancer Society will donate 3 cents per name to her treatment and recovery plan. One guy sent this to 500 people! So I know that we can send it to at least 5 or 6……………………..
Just think it could be you one day. It’s not even your money, just your time! PLEASE PASS ON AS A LAST REQUEST
Didn’t you wonder how they would know how many people the message was sent to?
?????? What?????? *looks confused*

That was nice. It was almost like a song, though. Oh well, I’ll see how many people I can send it to.
WHAT.
Let him do what he wants. We dont tell you what to do all the time.
And you honestly think that will stop me?
Thank you. If we told you to jump off the Empire State Building, would you mrmonkeyman?
Thank you BizarroSephiroth.
Your welcome
Its not like Im asking you to post you life. So what if it a fake. You dont have to send it. But to those who do thank you very much.

Yeah, I’m nice, but still not alot of people like me. Even though that poem may be fake, it doesn’t hurt to try anyway. Lots of people don’t like this stuff because they don’t really understand it’s meaning.
I think its a fake but I really like the poem its self. So I thought that I would share it with everyone. If they like and send it to others good, and if they dont thats ok to. But they dont have to make the people who do like it feel bad.
All I ask is to stop tell people not to send it. Let them do what they want.
You should edit your first post you know, the poem was written by David L Weatherford, not a fictional "little girl in New York".
Thank you, someone finally understands.
i hope that somehow this ends up in my inbox!
Such bullshit.
Haven’t recieved about 60,000 in the past 5 days.
other than that I thought it was a wonderful poem
It is possible to ignore that and just comment on the poem, which is the point of this forum.

The forum is for original work, isn’t it? Like, the kind that shriners create, and not the sort that they recieve in a chain letter. =\
And I agree with MMM on the quality. It doesn’t seem at all like a poem written by a sick young girl. It looks like a poorly written song that doesn’t give a hint of any kind of real personal expression, and I mean, if I read a poem that someone young was inspired to write because they were dying… even if the poem were technically poor I think you’d be able see some of that in it. Something that gave a sign of what they were going through and what they were feeling and not this trite nonsense. geh =\
When i read that i nearly cried. It makes me a very sad panda
It was quite tear-jerking.
