GF’s

Can someone tell me where you can get each one?

Ifrit you have to get -Fire cavern
Siren- you draw from elnoyle on the communications tower in dollet
Diablos you need to defeat him in the lamp given to you by headmaster cid
Brothers- in the tomb of the unknown king by deiling.
Carbuncle drawn from iguanas attacking rinoa at delling city during parade
Leviathan- draw from norg in the garden
Pandemonia- drawn from fujin (women) during battle in deiling hotel
Cerebrus- need to defeat him in galabadia garden
Alexander- Drawn from edea at the end of disc 2 In galabdia garden
Bahamut- in the deep sea under water research lab (only accesable by ragnarok)
Doomtrain- After lunatic pandora settles over tears point walk in get the solomons ring
and have some steel pipers malboro tentacles and i think remedy + (six of each)
Catuar- On the kashkabold desert you will see a grreen thing appearing and disapearing walk in to it kill him.
Odin get to odin and kill him in the time limit in the centra tower (do before tonberry)
Tonberry- in the centra ruins Kill twenty tonberrys
Eden- after defeating bahamut return to the research lab and go down draw from ultima weapon.

If i missed any i am sorry also that is just a Brief description

don’t forget these

Phoenix.
you summon him by using this item called phoenix pinion. you get one from the shumi
elder after you’ve done the statue mission at shumi village.

Chicobo.
summon with gysahl greens, i got one from Xu in the cafeteria after you come back from the D-district prison to garden.

Moomba
summon with a item called friendship, but you need a pocketstation.
i don’t know were you getthe item, but i think it’s in the chocobo world.

I forgot about them but they are not real gfs in effect.

You can buy ghysal greens in the chocobo forests but to summon chocobo you need to have caught one first

yeah that’s true they are like odin and gilgamesh, but i guess they count
as well.

btw were do you get more of those phoenix pinion?
it’s been years since i have played and i only got ff8 recently.

But remember that u can only get gilgamesh only if u get odin be4 fighting seifer at the end at disc 3 or else, bye-bye gilgamesh

To get a pheonix pinion do the stone quest in shumi village

I believe you can also mod for Phoenix Pinion — that’s how you would get more than just the Shumi Village one, but I forget exactly how. I suppose you could also win one from playing Chocobo World. Oh, BTW, since nobody mentioned it, you get Quezacotl and Shiva by accessing the control panel in the Garden classroom at the start of the game, or I think you eventually end up with them automatically even if you don’t do that.

You get them automatically thats y i didnt put them in

you needed to card mod that cocatrice monster card, you know
the monster that looked like some sort of rooster.

No you get cockatice pinion need for one of rinoas weapons.
They also provide you with soft items or break magic i dont think you can refine a pheonix pinion

edit: i saw that the card actually refines into cocatrice pinion not phoenix pinion, silly me i got them mixed oh well. :rolleyes:

minimog, good question the shrine has this info on it.

MiniMog – By using Mog’s Amulet, a GF can learn the MiniMog ability. When he’s called upon, MiniMog will appear and dance. This will restore all of your GF’s HP. This becomes more and more useful as you go further into the game.

it does not say were you find the mog’s amulet item though 🙁

That is one thing i gave never sussed out but i hane been searching i have looked on game faqs they dont say it either

they say you can have minimog and boko when you have loaded the chocobo world from ff8 to a pocketstation…… which was never released here in USA…….

Yes, however, FFVIII does have a PC version, which is how USA and UK people would get to see those. Chocobo World is bundled as a free application along with the PC version of FFVIII.

i’ve played chocobo world and i don’t have the pc version. some websites offer it as a download. i can’t get it to my playstation though. i can just play it and play it until i get lazy. i’m in level 8 right now…

I never really wanted to play it as it is meant to be shit.

With the mini mog summon I have never seen it so I dont mind as in the uk it is not possible to get due to the pocketstation being released.

The ff8 on the pc I found too complicated as i hate using joysticks or pads for the p.c

Yeah, Chocobo World is pretty lame, I think, but you can get some good stuff from it, which was pretty much the only reason I played it. As for controls — I just got used to using the keyboard to play. Actually, I originally played both FFVII and FFVIII on PC before I got a Playstation 2.

Heh, not surprising. It’s so small that wouldn’t be any hassle for somebody to upload and make available on their site.

I may well try it one day just to see what it is like but i will be pointless as i am playin ff8 on ma ps2 at the mo.

there is no need for a Gf so just screw them and go te Hell island and max out your guys get the final weapons and be done with it

Well if that was the case then try not equiping them and see how far u get on the island of hell without hp junction or even the item ability i wish u good luck.

just so you know i beat the game without them and i maxed my guys out on hell island without them as well and thats without the use of items all i had was my attacks and i did it with no problem (then i maxed out my gf’s)

but if you wanna use a gf use shiva, diablos, doom train, or odin

they are my fav ones

So you mean to tell me u went to the island of hell with no gfs equiped at all then so none of your stats were improved and so u just had the basic attack power life vit etc then?

As if u equiped gfs u use them just like everyone else

I think what theMADNESS meant was that he didn’t summon, not so much that he didn’t use GFs for junctioning. I could be wrong though.

Well he would have to junction i hope other wise hits stats would be completly pathetic.

Well, yes, that’s my point. You seemed to think he didn’t have anything junctioned and therefore just the basic stats.

Just to add on for Odin.. When you get to Centra Ruins, put on None-Ecounter if you have it just to make your life easier since you can’t afford to waste time just for escaping from Tonberries.

Go up the stairs and go through doorway to a lift which will automatically go up when you step on it. Then go up the first ladder and into the next screen. Activate the orb and the things in the room will be activated and start spinning.

Then go down onto the new stairs and go all the way to the next screen. Go up the short ladder right next to you(or closest) and go up to the one-eyed statue. Take the red eye. Then go down and go up the stairs ahead of you. There’ll be like a green dome thing and climb the curving ladder to the gargoyle statue.

Put in the red eye you hold and a few digits will appear (WRITE THE NUMBERS DOWN!!!) Then don’t waste time and go back to the first statue. Place both eyes in it. Then enter your numbers which you hopefully remembered or wrote down. When it accepts your digits, go down by the first ladder.

A new path will be available right by you. Enter.

Now face Odin.

Tip: Odin is really easy, just junction magic and try to get your strengths as high as you can. Attack him every time, DO NOT SUMMON GF’s I’ll advise you not too, they waste too much time and deal little damage. Haste will probably help you here.Oh and IMPORTANT NOTE: Odin will not attack you until all your time is up, I heard the attack is fatal though. SO FINISH HIM QUICK AS YOU CAN!

if he didn’t junction any gf to any of his characters, then therefore, he only has the ATTACK command during battle, and it would be really hard for him to level up in island closest to hell.

I heard the attack is fatal though. SO FINISH HIM QUICK AS YOU CAN!

oh yes! the attack is very fatal indeed. Zantetsuken will cut the body of your characters in half.
