Ok this is a bit of a wierd question but, does anyone have any tips for getting into FFX-2?
Ive started it twice and got a short way before i cant stand to play it any more! The generaly girlyness and OTT upbeat attitudes annoy the hell out of me! Appart from Paine, who’s a miserable little slag, ie – much better. lol.
Im currently playing my way through FFX again to get to know the characters again etc. When im done with that, im gonna try and have a go at FFX-2 again! I want to get to the end to basicaly complete the story of the two games.
I want to do it and get on through the game, but it just seems a bit silly to me! Plus the dressphere system is bloody rediculous and degrading (bring back materia i say)!
Anyone else got any tips? (as in hints you bunch of smutty bastards :P)
Take some FFX-2 viagra.
Other than that, I dunno. Personally, I’m of the opinion that people don’t have a problem getting into it, so much as simply getting it, but that’s just my opinion…
And i dont believe there is any FFX-2 viagra. It would have sold like hotcakes if there was any! 😛
But what do you think the flaws are, I didnt notice any?
WOLA know flaw yet Agent, your slacking
Here’s what it says in my copy of the guide, on Page 38:
The Mascot dressphere is a special sphere gained by acquiring "Episode Comlpete" in every area during Chapter 5 except for Bevelle.
That’s what it says. I have the Final Fantasy X-2 Official Strategy Guide: Signature Series by Dan Birlew, with special contributions by Elizabeth Hollinger and Wes Ehrlichman. Copyright 2004 Perason Education BradyGames Publishing
Here’s another mistake on 238:
Speak to the man in green standing with a group inside the Travel Agency area just to the left of the shop clerk. If you helped your agency reach level 5, he’ll give you the Calm Lands Free Pass, which allows you to ride hovers on the Calm Lands free of charge. If you failed to reach this high level but attempted the Publicity campaign anyhow, you’ll aobtain the Calm Lands Discount Pass that allows you to ride hovers at a lower fare.
Completely bogus. It’s always possible to complete the publicity campaign and there is no Discount Pass.
and there is a discount pass for the hovers. you need to ride them 10 times to get it and it allows rides at half price, and it can be gotten at anytime when your in the calm lands
Hmm, sounds like both guides have some errors then.
Somehow i actually nearly finished it. Although i do try to force myself to play it again i can never get further than taking the game out the box. There is nothing good about the game so if anone wants to burn the factory where they make the game i will gadly join them!
But if anyone wants to pursuade me to change my mind please do! I AM LOOSING GAMES TO PLAY!
Also the dresspheres are crap, there are websightes for people who want to watch 19,18 and 17 year old girls dress and undress! >:O
I do have to admit the graphics aare pretty good and the battles are reasonal apart from the dreespheres as mentioned earlier.
Although prehaps rude666 is right that it is better with the guid. so if one of you wants to bye it for me i will be thankfull:-P
Im sorry if anyone loved the game but i just think it is poor and a waste of time:)
But then again i am poor and a waste of time so dont bother with listening to me:-!
Oh, and the character you are thinking of is Leblanc (or somthing like that).
Yes, the character is Leblanc and her two sidekicks are Ormi and Logos. Also sometimes referred to as Sano and Uno. As for Leblanc — yes, she is largely comic relief, although if you had taken the time to view some of the optional CommSphere scenes (which I’m guessing you didn’t), you might have discovered a different side of her. Also, Ormi and Logos and I think Leblanc too are playable in Final Fantasy X-2 International and Last Mission.
The dresspheres are just fine — nobody’s watching anyone "dress and undress." If anything, the spherechange sequences are quite a visual treat, although if you don’t like them, there are always options in the menu to turn them off.
Nobody here’s gonna buy the guide for you, although there are numerous helpful FAQs on GameFAQs and NeoSeeker that serve almost as well as the official strategy guide and are sometimes more accurate and detailed.
But then again i am poor and a waste of time so dont bother with listening to me
Wow, that’s more scathing honesty than you’ll see from most people around here. Although, really, you shouldn’t be so down on yourself.
I guess prehaps i should change my veiws on ffx-2 its just that the stupid first fmv puts me off! and its not something that is easy to walk out the room from!
OK, that is not a bit of Japanese pop. It’s crap plus WTF is Yuna even doing being a singer! (Yes, I do know that in the first FMV it is not her singing.) And have you seen those names that appear next to them in the first FMV?! They’re all flowery and shit!
i am starting to get into the game again! i am nearly up to chapter 2 and im already about level 15!
its not as bad as i thought isuppse so thanx!
Im no sexist but i thought that having to play with only 3 female characters was a bit crap. And thew most anoyying thing was choosing which dresspheres to perfect on as there are only 3 characters to use. Also the use of chapters does suck, its just there to make it look impressive even though it doesn’t. And the most anoyying thing is Yuna. What is up with her, why did she have to change from the nice loving girl to a bitch! apart from that and of corse lablanc its not a bad game!
Well I wouldn’t say that, but I will say that I really did not like her voice actor, especially in X when she always says "Okay". The way she said it pissed me off.
I still dont like she sounds any better than from ffx.
And have you seen rikkus eyes from ff x-2
(‘) (.) (there supposed to be eyes not female melons) there all wonkey. Also i think that they have changes rikku in a bad way. and do you think that TIDUS/the other guy is the same vioce actor from the ffx because i dont!
Yes, it’s the same voice actor, just check the closing credits if you don’t believe it.
They always seemed to be enjoying themselves unless they were underground or reminiscing. Most of the music around the world seemed too stupid and childish. Too much estrogen in that game is what made it like it is lol. The ability to alter outfits simply takes all seriousness out of the game also, and makes it seems like a game for the fanboys of the FFX girls.
I may be corrected on the following bit, but it seemed to me like the plot of the story was all over the place until chapter 3…like the girls just went to random places for no reason and somehow found a plot…well done girls.
Huh?.
I actualy thought it was very entertaining considering the big change in style they tried. It was a spin-off, it was something new. I won`t even try and make a case why it`s good because you wouldn`t even listen.
But then again i am poor and a waste of time so dont bother with listening to me:-!
The first sensible thing you have said since registration.
Dresspheres/jobs reminded me of FF5, and many of those are similar.
It was/is the most emasculating game experience ever, and i often curse mightily at my television during parts of it. The drive to level up is strong, so KUDOS. the ability to kick ass is there, so KUDOS. Nobuo was not involved, so BAAHHGH. A select few tunes are awesome, some are fair, some make me want to muffle my ears with my own brain. Some NPCs from X who had dignity lost it in X-2 (Isaaru in particular), O’aka apparently developed vocal nodes.
I think it is fun. The game-within-a-game is awesome (spherebreak). I like the battle system. some of the new dungeons are cool, some are hacks. Yuna and co. are compelled to do some awefully strange missions: I do them for completions sake, and to imagine Tidus (assuming i guessed the ‘good ending’ properly… DONTTELLME) saying:
"So, uhh… you… you were matchmaking for monkeys. I held my breath for TWO YEARS and you were finding mates for monkeys…"
and of course
"Does your right leg ever get cold?"
[and the fact that this is post #42 fills me with pride]
Yeah, the dresspheres is definitely based on jobs.
Some NPCs from X who had dignity lost it in X-2 (Isaaru in particular)
Isaaru lost his dignity in X when he was left in the dust by Yuna after trying to stop her in the Via Purifico.
O’aka apparently developed vocal nodes.
I enjoy O’aka’s singing.
Yuna and co. are compelled to do some awefully strange missions
The price of fame…
"So, uhh… you… you were matchmaking for monkeys. I held my breath for TWO YEARS and you were finding mates for monkeys…"
roffle
[and the fact that this is post #42 fills me with pride]
And the fact that I didn’t get post 42 pains me deeply…
I would spend an hour or so on the game. That way it gives you the chance to get used to the battling system and where the story is heading, as well as a chance to decide if it’s a game you are generally going to like or not.
Alternatively there’s always game faqs/cheats you can look up to help get you through the game more quickly, so long as you don’t mind cheating and reading spoilers lol.
ya i guss
10 was a good game (by FAR not the best), but 10-2 wasnt all that bad either. I like the new battles, it makes for quicker choices and quicker battles (minus the exp/gil/item tally at the end…). I like the game, but its odd cause it seems to be missing somthing. I can’t figure out what it is! It gets really slow at times and I still LOATHE the minigames (10’s sucked just a little less). Dresssphere’s are nice, but like the sphere grid, they take away all the differences between the characters. 10-2 actually has a one up one 10 in this respect!
I’m still hoping for a revolutionarily extraordinary game that hasnt come around since FF3/6 and FF7. I love the FF series and like all the games but none compair to these two (OMG people talk in FFX, that DOESNT make it a good game, comon’ people)
Don’t you mean it’s successor…….. just though I would point that out, anyway……….
its odd cause it seems to be missing somthing
I missed the tense moments of X, I thought X-2 was way too jolly. The storyline was dissapointing too. Sphere hunting, looking for Tidus, whatever, just wasn’t a storyline, not to FF standards. Still, it was a fun game and I enjoyed finishing it a couple of times.

You actually put the game in its place! i agree with everything there so good on you !
NAAA ff10 was to much of a good game to be followed by ff10-2 i believe that only people who have not played ff10 should play ff10-2!
WHAT??? Why do you say that? If you havent played FF-X, and you go directly to X-2, none of the storyline would make sense, making it seem like an even weaker sequel then it actually is.
My thoughts exactly.
I only didnt say anything and be rude cuse I dont wanna be banned again
BUT i do still think that – if you think like me – ff10 players will be disapointed that they will not get the same mystical (??? DONT ASK) from ff10 than 10-2.
Although i cant always be pesamistic of ff10-2 as it has kind of grown on me the last past week.
Thats probably why X is my favourite, cuse I prefer to watch things.
Thats probably also why FF appeals to me so much, cuse of their amazing FMV’s

Yeah, but you could’nt skip through them, so the really long ones that you’ve already seen before, like if you’ve beaten the game already, you had to watch them. Gets kinda annyoing after awhile.
Unless if you’ve played it ten times over.
There is just no point playing it then is there
There is just no point playing it then is there
To actually play the game, not just watch the scenes
I like that quote, thats quality
Oh, and for quotes to be quality, they need to use good grammar and spelling. Thus:
It’s like reading a book not for the storyline, but the oh so many words which you like to look at and admire.
It’s like reading a book not for the storyline, but the oh so many words which you like to look at and admire.
So picky
and i do think that the skip scene in ff10-2 is good as the story line is poor anyway but skipping it in ff10 theres no point.
iTS my best! 🙂
I think that’s wrong. There are many scenes, and even the odd FMV that i really want to skip, but if i remember correctly, i cant, eg, the whistling and laughing scenes in luca, the scene in Home when we discover how Yunas pilgrimage should end, and the Spring FMV.
However, even if there ws the facility to skip in X, i dont think I would anyway, even though i do hate some scenes, as I think playing it for the story is better than just levelling up and collecting items. Thats just me though…
*presses dialogue skip button*
*finds it doesnt work*
*curses*
Actually, FFX does have dialogue-skip, problem is that there’s a lot more scenes in X where it doesn’t work than there are in X-2. And X has no scene-skip whatsoever.
Just out of curosity, does the dialogue skip shorten the cutscenes, or just end the speech while the scene continues to play. Just asking because when I do skip dialogue, it feels like i have to wait a anyway
Daniel George Gray
Cause of Death:
Boredom
(nobbys talking about skip dialogue)
I think it’s highly dependent, and again, better in FFX-2 than in FFX. The scene may continue to play, but I think it might be shorter.
Also, I think dialogue-skip generally works more often when they’re not showing the character’s face at the time that they’re speaking and will also shorten it more if that’s the case.
that sounded kind of confusing….I hope it made sense
And it’s something you’re going to continue to not see from me if you keep posting messages that aren’t related to the topic just to "point out" something like that.
But i dont remember there being skip scenes in ff10 unless your refering to the "X" botton but that is not skip scene its just "SHUT THE HELL UP ALREADY YOU STUPID SHITTING FREEK Button"
Another funny quote SuperNova. Your good at them
Well i do try :smrt:
There are only a few places in ff10 with i want to skip e.g the laughing scene and the scene before you fight semore the third time as a kept dying so i had to hear rikku go on aboout tidus being a leader and crap. But in ff10-2 there are LOADS of places were you need to skip!
As ive mentioned before that i have started ff10-2 again i have got to capter two level 22 and am getting bored! PLease help me rediscover the so called mystical fun hidden in the game!
Its just for fun really
Everything seemed jumbled.
But with a guide, it makes everything clear on what to do.
But there are some things you wouldnt have a clue what to do without the guide, that would ruin the whole game.
For instance, pressing the X button on the farplane. How the hell are you supposed to know that.
Did you know it Agent?
Yup, and also in the other FF’s, you dont need to do the side quests to get the full satisfaction of the story, what little there is, but X-2 you can just do the story missions and you’d miss out on a lot of story like stuff about shuyin and maechen (thought I’d mention Maechen as he rocks!!) etc.
It may be completly useless without the guide, but its honestly really good with it. #####SPOILER#####
You get to see Yuna and Tidus meet at the end in an FMV, which is obviously quality. Well that it is if you do it really good
[QUOTE=Aurons Ghost](thought I’d mention Maechen as he rocks!!) QUOTE]
Yer, Maechen is one of my favourite characters….. Shame he dies
That is a good FMV yes (not the best I think, but a really good one still), but you only need to do good, not really good, or you might start scaring people lol. have you seen the perfect end yet?
also
Sorry about the double post
(thought I’d mention Maechen as he rocks!!)
Yer, Maechen is one of my favourite characters….. Shame he dies
HE’S ALREADY DEAD :), but yeah, I’d like some closure on if he reforms somewhere else. Seeing him burst into a cloud of pyreflies is quite depressing, (like when auron did it in X)
Yer I knew he was already dead. I meant….. I cant explain what I meant, but you know what I mean.
And I dunno why but I found Maechen’s death a lot more miserable. It’s probably like with the Coffee Guy in IX dying. Its just cuse they’re old

Same here, I got 99% on my best, and my current one is 93%.
Just joking with you, You probably meant the same as me about when he dissolved into pyreflies in Zanarkand. I miss maechens knowledgable presence. He may have been old ***Possible Spoiler*** at least 1000 years. But him, like the coffee guy never hurt anyone so why did they have to DIE. If anyone should have did, it should have been either seymour, (permenantly the first time), or tidus, (when kimahri attacks him), lol
Also did you notice, on one of the dud spheres that you collect, (I think its the first, in Mount Gagazet) with the one where it has Zanarkand in its prime. And a man speaks saying that he cant believed he shook her hand.
Did you know that it is Maechen speaking?

Sort of yeah, The fact that he says that he shook Lennes hand in chapter 5 is also a big clue, but i think he does sound younger in the black mage sphere (i think thats the dress sphere it is, which may imply that Maechen was a black mage at some time…)
Sorry, but I doubt it.
He’s just an old man with knowledge
He’s just an old man with knowledge
thats why I said imply, and anyway, just cos he’s a clever old man does not mean he could not be a mage in his time, the coffee bloke made model airships, or did he just own them…?… anyway, we dont really know much about Maechens life or death so other than the fact that he’s a scholar, and possible came from Zanarkand, anything else is in the realm of your imagination
And no, I didn’t know about the hitting the X thing.
hell yeah, but what Im saying is that he could have skills that arent shown in action, just the result for the coffee guy in the models, and the implication in the sphere for Maechen
