Just curious.
As for the others, Transformers was originally a Japanese anime before Hasbro brought it out in the US and elsewhere in the mid ’80s, but as far as the other two go, I wouldn’t really consider them anime per se, but more anime inspired. But I guess there will be a lot of people who would disagree with me there..
to me. its anime.
to me. its anime.
Quite a large amount of American TV shows are/were sent overseas to be animated, and they don’t all have that crazy japanesy look to them.
examples being GIjoe and the like. it would be wrong to assume all anime has to have that classic big eye thing. even gargoyles almost seems anime. just look at the human character faces. x-men might as well be in there too. you can tell by the eyes and the way chins and noses are drawn. some chiseling here and there. refined. clean. all the makings of good japanese animation.
face structures stand out to me the most in such examples and facial expressions. those are what convince me.
compare gargoyles, gijoe, captain planet, x-men and all those type of shows to armored trooper votoms and city hunter, and maybe you’ll see my point.
oh. hmm. that’s pretty interesting. now i’m curious about true blue american artwork. what i understand from what your saying, is that perhaps everything we know and love, was prolly "anime" to begin with, and we never knew about it. so now i’m left wondering, what ISN’T done overseas now? o_o
i can only think of old shows like duck tales, darkwing duck, bonkers, anamaniacs, tiny toons, and so on. other than that…i’m out of shows. O_o heck. those were prolly done overseas too! omg! whats left??
I think the main animators for cheap country is S. Korea, I think. That goes for japanese companies too. I’m afraid you’ll just have to come up with a new term to represent cartoons drawn by S. Koreans.
but my question was, is anything done at home anymore? now i’m worried. and lets not count disney either. cause i’m sure they still work at home…right. O_o (home=usa)
Aqua Teen Hunger Force.
Just curious.
if it was made in japan and it’s a cartoon, then it’s anime.
i dunno anything about the ones you listed though, either than the fact that they kinda look like they should be. @@’
I don’t get what you mean there… could you explain rezo?
Just curious.
i don’t really find thundercats as anime and transformers are like on the fence. also i’ve never heard of the mysterious cities of gold or ulysses 31.
I screwed up the sentence. It should be "main country for cheap animation is S. Korea". They work for less money than US animators.
