My personal opinion, from looking at the end, is that Cloud is still very much in love with Aeris but is bitter as now he knows it can’t ever go anywhere.
As a result of that I think it’s possible that in the future he’ll just be a bit of a loner when it comes to women. He’ll still spend time with the people he cares about like family i.e Barret, Marlene, Tifa, Denzel etc but I got the feeling in AC he’d become a pretty private person and that none of them are people he ever totally opens up to, Tifa included.
I’m assuming that’s a rhetorical question. I know you don’t need an answer.

Cloud liked Tifa, around the time he hit puberty. Probably for the same reason most FF fanboys are fixated on her.
Cloud leaves Tifa, making one of those crappy teenage promises that rarely mean anything.
Cloud practically leaves Tifa to die in Nibelheim, so he CAN GET REVENGE. gj.
Fast forward to FF7.
Cloud likes Aeris.
Aeris sorta likes Cloud, but has hangups about Zack.
Tifa not really interested in Cloud, ’cause sorta freaked out about seeing him again.
Aeris dies. omg spoilers.
Cloud goes into Romeo and Juliet mode. ie, his love was unrequited in life, therefore it must be requited in death. He must avenge his fair maiden. etc. etc.
Tifa is strongest female presence, still with largest boobs. Cloud = emotional wreck + Y chromosome. Hence, just before the battle against the big bad at the crater, he and Tifa have a "oh my god, we’re gonna die anyway" fuck.
Fast forward to AC, and we have Tifa and Cloud who apparently live together with a few kids. Aww. Except Cloud isn’t there, he’s being all "When will Cloud come home". My hypothesis? Cloud and Tifa expected to die, they didn’t. Aeris is dead, but Cloud still has a huge part of him jonesing for her. However, Tifa is a warm body + large breasts, so he figures he may as well make the most of his life.
All throughout AC, we’ve got Aeris appearing to Cloud in his dreams. And then by the end, she walks off with Zack. Cloud has severe identity issues – he gets himself confused with Zack a lot. The fact that he’s not dead (Cloud, that is) makes his life a lot easier, because he can go back and bang Tifa without an uncomfortable Aeris / Zack / Cloud love triangle.
It’s all so very cliche =/
Also I think Tifa liked Cloud but not visa-versa
In AC I think Cloud has feelings for Aries but now that she is dead he basically doesnt like her as much.
But I dont think Tifa and Cloud are a couple even though they both like each other (I like that)

As for the film, well ive seen the Jap version, with English Subtitles, its great, so is the quality, dvd rip, so ive burned it on to a dvd. cant wait for the UK version on DVD when its out, ill get it, along with the OST.

Aeris was flirting with Cloud quite openly in the beginning (the bodyguard thing, mainly). when Tifa showed up Aeris toned things down because she wasn’t sure what the deal was exactly between the two of them; by the time she figured out that they definitely weren’t "together" she realized that there was romantic tension between them, and therefor decided not to pursue Cloud further.
I think she was trying to not alienate Tifa or put Cloud in an odd position with her, since they had bigger things to worry about at the moment.

1)Aeris is DEAD…in the lifestream…so unless there’s a continuition for ffAC where aeris will suddenlly just come back to life….cloud and aeris can’t be together physically but maybe spiritually….
2)Cloud needs to move on……
3)Tifa is just a friend….maybe but haven’t you heard story that friendship can turn to love…..and if cloud doesn’t fall for tifa…well it’s his loss and vincent’s win……
