Do you like the musics?
It’s Harry Gregson Williams the composer of MGS2 and 3…The 4 in the futur…
I dont know who is the MGS1 music composers…
Twin Snake’s music are composed by a Japanese man.Not American.
This topic is create for metal gear music…
I do however really like the SNAEK EATER song.
Someday you feed on a tree frog
I’m still in a dream, SNAKE EATER @_@;
Takeshi Honda, Hidenori Miyanaga, Junichiro Tsutsui and Yoko Matsutani if you want to know.
Has every1 seen the new trailer that lasts like 15minutes?
Aside from Final Fantasy, it is my favorite series.
And for all you hardcore MGS fans, you should know the great story behind MGS.
The Main MGS Theme is still the best song.
PSOnes’s MGS was good but conventional, repeating tracks looping infinitely like most RPGs.
Metal Gear Solid 2’s OST wasn’t all that good IMO and definetely buying (or downloading ^_^ ) the soundtrack by someone who hasn’t played the game results in dissapointment.
MGS3’s music is awesome, it’s composed almost equally by both Harry Gregson-Williams and Norihiko Hibino. They both have done a great job.
FYI, Harry didn’t plan on composing for MGS3 unless it (the game) took place in a jungle, and coincidentally Kojima’s plan for MGS3 was a prequel occuring during 60s in a jungle. This means that chances are that Harry won’t compose for MGS4, but the trailer song is damn moving.
Thats crazy, but I like the MGS 2 Main Theme more than this Track!
A thread about MGS . . . If only they knew . . . HA HA HA HA HA . . .
It feels good to know people . . .
Does anyone of you know why is Sanae Shintani being credited on the ending credits roll of Metal Gear Solid?? (the one from PlayStation). Did she sung a song or helped creating one??
I’m a huge mgs series fan, i’m currently mixing some tracks from Metal Gear Solid, I’ll post them for u guys, if u thought they were boring, just wait till get ahold of them!

Too bad he didn’t do half the music for MGS2.

12 out of 37 tracks. That’s less than half.
He’s a movie composer. He composed the music for some of the game’s cutscenes, but he didn’t compose any of the in-game looping music.
Anyway, yeah, the game’s music is awesome. But I wish people would credit the right composer. That’s like crediting Nobuo Uematsu for doing Final Fantasy Tactics’ OST.

Thank you…..I’m in total agreement. He is a great composer, but due credit should be given to Hibino and others involved.
I agree on that… Hibino’s work on the soundtrack of MGS2 was totally mind-blowing but some people only credit Mr. Gregson Williams.
BTY, does anyone of you know why is Sanae Shintani being credited on the Staff Roll of MGS1?? I know she helped on a song for MGS2 but why is she being credited for on MGS1??
If not, does anybody know the name of the person that does?

You know idk, I’ll check it out, I think so, but dont take that as gospel.

Thank’s to the trusty IMDB I found this:

So, no… Sana is not on this song….
I’d say it’s more like Zimnyaya Doroga (http://dl.zvuki.ru/3/0036/mp3/9.mp3) (Winter Road) – a different version of the same music from Sviridov’s "Metel" (Blizzard) cycle. I guess Tappy definitely heard Sviridov before composing the original MG theme.
Btw, I’ve heard a guy from a Russian gaming magazine met with Kojima at E3 2006 and let him listen this music on his PSP. Kojima’s eyes just popped out 🙂 – he didn’t know wat to say.
I like Harry Gregson-Williams’ MGS3 theme cuz I can here some minor parts from previous theme, MGS2, MGS1 also the Red disc. It’s funny and make me bloodlust =;-) while I heard the brass and theme from MGS1.

I’ve been searching and I can’t find any info on who it is or anything.
Yes, I know ^^
This MGS4 soundtrack will be great! =)

I don’t meant to be rude, but that link (for "Winter Road") isn’t working for me and I was wondering if there was any other way you could send it to me, I’ve been looking for it for a while now. Cheers in advance.
Even if MGS2&3 are better games than MGS (for most people), my heart is with MGS.
The music, the mistery, the reaction when you found out that liquid is snake’s brother…
That game shocked me in almost every way.
When I played KOTOR 1, and you get to that part where there are a sith diplomat, and is Cam Clarke’s voice… omg.
Anyway, I prefer the songs of mgs, but Snake Eater and Way to fall are awesome songs.
EDIT: Anybody knows what is the theme from the mgs4 15min trailer?
Also, you can find the soundtracks from MG1, MG2 and SNAKE’S REVENGE around the web.

But they usually get someone different to do the vocal themes for each game. The song however has not been released yet, so we will just have to wait. Sorry.
Although when I listen to it it makes me wanna sneak around places and knock ppl out lmao
Yeah, Harry Gregson Williams will be doing MGS4 soundtrack too. And most probably the movie as well.
mgs1 was done by someone i can’t remember but i do know they’re very good. and they still contribute a large amount to the scores in mgs2,3 and 4.
they have to work closely with gregson williams to make it all come together.
I don’t think so… they might hire other composer, but if they stick with Mr. Williams, the results might be surprising…

For the score of MGS1: Kazuki Muraoka / Tappy / Rika Muranaka
For the score of MGS2: Norihiko Hibino / Harry Gregson Williams / Roman A. Scorpio (on Substance for "Metal Gear Solid Main Theme -Skateboarding Remix- / Sanae Shintani (Minor colaboration) / Rika Muranaka / Carla White (Vocals on "Can’t say goodbye to Yesterday")
For the score of MGS3: Harry Gregson-Williams / Norihiko Hibino / Cynthia Harrell / TAPPY / Starsailor / Elisa Fiorillo (Vocals on "Don’t be afraid")
And for the Score of MGS4: So far, Harry Gregson-Williams and Akihiro Honda
Hope that helps clarify your doubts.!
Who is this composer ? How do you know that he’ll composes the soundtrack ?

In session N41 or 42 of the KP Podcast (Ryan’s Report), it was said that besides working on the soundtrack of Super Smash Brothers Brawl, Akihiro Honda is working on MGS4
For those who don’t know who he is, he worked on several of the tracks on the soundtrack of MPO…
BTW, I think that in www.metalgear.ru you can download the soundtrack of MPO… Not so sure, though.

Plus, it’s got "The Best is Yet to Come", one of the most beautiful vocal tracks in gaming.
Prefer "Calling To The Night", myself.
That’s great, too. However, there is something about non-English lyrics that is incredible. You don’t understand what they’re talking about, so you create the "scene" or "emotion" in your head. It’s one of the instances where the voice becomes an instrument itself.
Ahh, I can completely see where you’re coming from with this. This would explain my complete obsession with Japanese songs.
That was sort of the point though.
He’s right. Kojima aimed to go for the older, Sean Connery-esque Bond feel with the "Snake Eater" song.
I need the only-vocal version of the "snake eater" soundtrack…
I hope somebody can help me!!!!!
The link from A2T do not work… 🙁
