I’ve never played any metal gear games apart from the metal gear solid playstation psx demo ~

I like all the MGS series and all its music. It’s a great series I think. The composers for the first Metal Gear Solid are
Takeshi Honda, Hidenori Miyanaga, Junichiro Tsutsui and Yoko Matsutani if you want to know.

Metal gear is awesome. I love every game of it and I cant wait for the Metal Gear 4 Guns of the Patriots.

MGS4 out in playstation in 2007.A rumor announced MGS4 on July 7th 2007,because this day,its the 20th year exactly of MG series!!!And in the new MGS4 logo,we watch three L.L corresponding at 7:L=7.So 7/7/7=07/07/2007…

I dont think the Metal Gear 1 music is to clever, but since Harry joined with stuff like SNAKE EATER, its been dam good.

Has every1 seen the new trailer that lasts like 15minutes?

MGS4 is practiclly the reason I am buying a PS3.
Aside from Final Fantasy, it is my favorite series.
And for all you hardcore MGS fans, you should know the great story behind MGS.

The Main MGS Theme is still the best song.

Metal Gear Solid has a unique music style. It’s differs from most of other games’ music style. Harry is movie composer, so this style is obvious in MGS 2 and 3.

PSOnes’s MGS was good but conventional, repeating tracks looping infinitely like most RPGs.

Metal Gear Solid 2’s OST wasn’t all that good IMO and definetely buying (or downloading ^_^ ) the soundtrack by someone who hasn’t played the game results in dissapointment.

MGS3’s music is awesome, it’s composed almost equally by both Harry Gregson-Williams and Norihiko Hibino. They both have done a great job.
FYI, Harry didn’t plan on composing for MGS3 unless it (the game) took place in a jungle, and coincidentally Kojima’s plan for MGS3 was a prequel occuring during 60s in a jungle. This means that chances are that Harry won’t compose for MGS4, but the trailer song is damn moving.

Does anyone of you know why is Sanae Shintani being credited on the ending credits roll of Metal Gear Solid?? (the one from PlayStation). Did she sung a song or helped creating one??

I’d say it’s more like Zimnyaya Doroga (http://dl.zvuki.ru/3/0036/mp3/9.mp3) (Winter Road) – a different version of the same music from Sviridov’s "Metel" (Blizzard) cycle. I guess Tappy definitely heard Sviridov before composing the original MG theme.
Btw, I’ve heard a guy from a Russian gaming magazine met with Kojima at E3 2006 and let him listen this music on his PSP. Kojima’s eyes just popped out 🙂 – he didn’t know wat to say.

There’s a rare album called "MetalGear -> Solid Snake, Red Disc". It’s about old Metalgear game midi and other relative Electronic style music. I do like this one. And also, you can here some similar parts in MGS3 Main theme composed by Harry Gregson-Williams.

I like Harry Gregson-Williams’ MGS3 theme cuz I can here some minor parts from previous theme, MGS2, MGS1 also the Red disc. It’s funny and make me bloodlust =;-) while I heard the brass and theme from MGS1.

Even if MGS2&3 are better games than MGS (for most people), my heart is with MGS.
The music, the mistery, the reaction when you found out that liquid is snake’s brother…
That game shocked me in almost every way.
When I played KOTOR 1, and you get to that part where there are a sith diplomat, and is Cam Clarke’s voice… omg.

Anyway, I prefer the songs of mgs, but Snake Eater and Way to fall are awesome songs.

A rip from Subsistence doesn’t exist. But there is some music from the Online mode, in a fan release, at www.metalgearsolid.org/ in the music section.
Also, you can find the soundtracks from MG1, MG2 and SNAKE’S REVENGE around the web.

The guitar theme from the trailer… I believe could possibly be Harry Gregson-Williams, we don’t know for sure who did that song yet, but we do know he is doing the music for the game.

But they usually get someone different to do the vocal themes for each game. The song however has not been released yet, so we will just have to wait. Sorry.

The guitar theme was composed by Gregson-Williams. In an interview, he said that that’s the Old Snake theme.

My fav song/musical arrangement from any MGS game has got to be the main theme from the second game, it’s been a main stay on my MP3 player since I got it.

mgs1 was done by someone i can’t remember but i do know they’re very good. and they still contribute a large amount to the scores in mgs2,3 and 4.

they have to work closely with gregson williams to make it all come together.

Would anyone happen to know where I could download Snake Eater, the music that plays when you are in evasion mode in MGS3 and the opening theme to metal gear 2. I dont want to buy the whole soundtrack since those are about the only three that I really like.

Ahh, I can completely see where you’re coming from with this. This would explain my complete obsession with Japanese songs.

He’s right. Kojima aimed to go for the older, Sean Connery-esque Bond feel with the "Snake Eater" song.
