lower settings, lower resolutions, smaller maps & smaller unit limit would play fine on most quasi-recent computers, I’d think.
it was the same with Total Annihilation. it took years before people could play the largest maps with 5,000 units at a tolerable speed

Dual SLi for a RTS? Wtf?
I’ve been playing Rise of Legends for about a week now, and it runs fine even on a DX8 card (My friend bought a Dell with no AGP, or PCI-Express slots, only PCI)
My 7800GS runs almost every game in my collection at 1440×900 with 8xAA and 8xOsotropic filtering.
Now I must get this game, because it’s making me wet.
There are several titles out there that try to mimic the epic scale of the battle perceived, but this game looks so open ended, I can see where the rendering pipelines and architecture of SLi would come in handy (not like SLi wouldn’t come in handy anyway no matter what you were playing)
Are you going to be at the mall at midnight to pick up your copy? Haha. (Remembers the Halo 2 fiasco) 🙂
wowzer, I found a word that’s identical to wowzer.
That looks pretty good actually, I have no interest in it but………
YES, YES I know, it’s a Star Trek game. However, I’ve been waiting for something like this since Elite Force was released.
Hopefully the massive scale between all 3 generations will allow the game to seem more "open" then claustrophobic like most RTS games I play.
