First of all, yes in comparison to graphics nowadays, the graphics are not that great, but they were then (mainly the cutscenes). You have probably heard the saying ‘Don’t judge a book by its cover’ well this can be implemented to games, ‘Don’t judge a game by how pretty it is’. If a re-make was made (which i doubt would happen) then they wouldn’t need to add talking, personally i would prefer to make my own judgement on the personality of a character by what is said rather then how something is said and IF a re-make was ever made with voiceovers and prettier graphics then they best make sure that there is a non-voiceover option where the text is still displayed without some american voice actor telling me he just wants the money from blowing up a reactor before he leaves(no offence to americans in general, i just get sick of hearing a boistrous american shout about something in a game, time and time again). In advent children, fair enough voices were neccessary. IMO a re-make is not needed, so a re-make with voiceovers is definitly not needed. Anyway if it was remade on the same level as X then we would have to put up with more fanboys/girls from another generation, which we do not need.
I can imagine it now, ‘ooooh, Final fantasy VII(re-make) is so great, the graphics are superb, they are this and that, hmmm, i never played the original because the graphics were not very good, this story is brilliant though, if it had graphics like this then, i would have definitely got it. I am so shallow minded, graphics are everything to me, etc, etc’ i think you all get the picture.

I agree that you should not judge a videogame by how pretty it is, however ff7 was very poorly for its time. Just take a look at Tomb Raider 2 that was realised the same year. Ff7’s FMV were poor looking too and again i give as example Tomb Raider 2.

The reason they did FFVII was because it was a much loved game and most people would know the previous graphics for the game, so they could compare.
The problem with this is it tricked the people who don’t read into things (i.e me) to believing that there was actually a remake.

Advent Children was originally going to be a twenty minute movie, until the fan base became so incredibly huge that Tetsuya Nomura decided to make it a feature length movie.

I also never claimed that it was the worst game in history, and I’ve seldom said anything more severe than pointing out that it was merely mediocre, as well as one of the weakest games in the series. And besides that, I’ve never tried to convince people that they shouldn’t like it.

Gameplay is not an element that links a player to the events on screen. It is the method by which they interact. As that interaction is reliant on the player being properly aware of what’s going on in the game, it is a subordinate element in context of my point.

The gameplay is not particularly great, actually. Yours is a biased perception that would not be universally shared, especially among those who care more about gameplay than other factors, myself included. Examples of failings in the gameplay:
1. The menus are less responsive than they should be.
2. Many of the standard sorting and switching options were not present in the materia system, making management unnecessarily complicated.
3. Combat is extremely repetitious, not relying nearly as heavily on tactics as the previous games in the series. You can play through almost the entire thing using nothing but physical attacks. What’s the point of having a variety of options if you never have to use any of them?
4. Movement in certain areas is downright retarded. Press up on the control pad to go left on the screen? Puh-leeze.

When I look at the materia system, I see a fatally flawed gameplay element that nullifies the usefulness of 2/3 of your party members because none of them have a specific role they play. Since any of your favorite three characters can be adapted to any role, there’s never a need to use the others. They’re simply wasted.

Silly question. Of course it would be FFVII. The game is what it is, and could have been any number of things. If anything was done differently, the name would still be there.

In that statement, you imply that you find imperfections to be endearing. That’s perfectly fine. However, the imperfections/flaws are still there and should be recognized accordingly. Even if you like it, it’s still something that’s fundamentally wrong with the game.

I gave them a fair chance with Advent Children to prove that they cared about making up for their failings. Deep Ground Soldier (DGS, Deepground in the US version) is not the same organization as SOLDIER. They draw a distinct line in the spelling, in the game. However, DGS IS an offshoot of SOLDIER.
That said, there is no real indication of what awoke "G", or even that the "brother" he was speaking to was Weiss at all. It’s been proposed that G is speaking to Sephiroth, and intends to use Weiss’ body as a host for him. It’s all up in the air, and will likely remain that way until "EC" gets announced.
Until then, here’s what we do know about Genesis and company, from Crisis Core. First, Genesis was friends with Sephiroth and Angeal, or at least, they seemed to be, and they all appear to be 1st Class.
In the newest trailer, Genesis reveals that he "kept being betrayed by 2 people", ever since he left "that house". He also calls Tseng and Zack dogs of Shinra, so he clearly doesn’t much like them anymore. Zack and Tseng were apparantly issued an order to "capture or destroy" G, and originally, Sephiroth was supposed to be the one assigned, not Zack.
Angeal also has two white wings on his right side, and also asks Zack to join him and fight those who torment the Planet — it could be a hint that Angeal was the founder of AVALANCHE. Rumor has it that he’ll die in his battle against Genesis…
At any rate, there is one large, glaring connection between Angeal, Genesis, and Sephiroth, and that’s the one-winged angel aspect they all share (though, Angeal has two… XD).
Anyway, it seems that FFVII and AC were about Sephiroth, while CC and DC are about Genesis. BC acts as a sort of history for the past of the Compilation… It seems that the conclusion, if it’s ever made, will tie everything together and finish the "Crisis".

equip tetra elemental (morph cactaurs), use dazers, it’s more fun and you can use the weakest weapons and no materia to beat him…just use them on his hands when he sticks ’em in the ground, then phoenix down your remaining party, constantly attack his hands and use dazers when the effect starts to wear off, repeat
the reason for tetra elemental and not ribbon is because his ruby flame will heal you considerably

FFVII DoC continues the story after FFVII AdvC, the important thing in it, square revield a new character , and has a one winged, the opposite of sephiroth, the names ‘G’, thats what made this topic as there is no possibilities for a remake, instead the story continues [square made it like this ] and it turns compilicated after revileing FFVII Crisis core [the game on the psp] trailer,
that "G" name is GENESIS, and it appears not only Sephiroth and Genesis to have one wing….but a 3rd one to name Angeal.[this game event is before the actuall FFVII]
