Any suggestions?
I suggest that the movie gets burnt to a crisp. Period.
If I had a little bit of caring for the movie in which I don’t give a crap in truth, I do think yuffie should never stepped in, Cloud should be less of an emo as someone pointed out. Many other things need suggesting to that movie. But as I said before, I don’t realy give a shit about the film, personally.
"The Spirits Within" had more detailed CGI and was produced earlier.
Any suggestions?
i’ll go out on a limb here and say EVERYTHING!!!
Then, frankly, I don’t think you’ve seen many CGI movies.
Yes, I am a cunt and proud of it, so thank you for complimenting. And gosh, no need to get so emotional about it. Anyways, you should of started this thread in the "Advent Children and General Compilation" forum, and now you say this?
"FFAC, WHAT COULD HAVE BEEN MADE BETTER?" NOT "FFAC, HOW SHIT WAS IT?"
You can’t have it both ways, my lad.
ROFL
Any suggestions?
you REALLY should get off SquareEnix’s cock and see some better CGI movies…i.e. anything made by Pixar
even the short films they made were far more entertaining than AC
SO FUCK OFF AND STOP BAGGING OUT MY FUCKING OPINIONS!
it’s also our opinion to say that the movie was complete bullshit and Square should just stop with milking FFVII
– Standalone storyline so as to not confuse those who hasn’t played the game(sic).
– Scenes that make sense
– Less emo and more ass kicking.
– Needs hot lesbian sex.
– More believeable fights that are easier to follow.
The storyline should have had more development put into it….
And the last thing–
One time I was watching, I was trying to just follow Cloud’s choreography in all the fights….
But then I realized that the camera was moving around soooo much that even though they made wonderful animation and choreography for the fight scenes, the movement of the camera kind of makes it too difficult to see sometimes….
The music was wonderful, though…=] That’s one of the things I really enjoyed….

the movement of the camera during those scenes led me to think that they used it to hide their lack of animation talent…
Very much so. I’m talking head, shoulders, elbows, and waist above Squeenix’s animation studio.
Someone had to make that joke.
I knew you’d pick up on that. 😀
<<
Like, literally…
But I see what you guys mean…>< When I saw all the camera movement in the middle of the fight scenes, I had trouble following the movements….but I thought the movie had rather good animation, so I thought like, "?! Why are you moving the camera so much? What are you trying to hide…? I don’t see why you’d have to hide anything…." >> But now that Prak mentioned it, and I looked at it again more closely, and noticed a bit of what he pointed out.
Hm.
Even if they were moving in straight lines, I’d rather see everything together…a fight consists of both push and pull, focus, and determination….and that focus sometimes goes in a straight line. I want to see all parts of the fight….not just the flashiness or the adrenaline….
Intelligent moviegoers – These are the people that appreciate technical merit and want to see action with a bit of brains behind it. For a good recent example, look at Serenity.
Beavis and Butthead – Hello majority of AC’s fanbase! These are the people whose brains are easily dazzled by flashing lights and motion. What’s actually happening is unimportant to these people. All they care about is being able to sit there like a vegetable and occasionally say "huh huh he jumped really high. that’s cool." For another recent example of a shit action film that only idiots find merit in, see Stealth.
Hahahahah
I thought that was kind of funny….
<< Though I don’t mean to be mean to the "Beavis and Butthead" type people….
I take martial arts, so by habit I just tend to want to see the direction and form of choreography in action movies….
In truth, though some scenes in AC were beautiful, and some of the action sequences were pretty nice…a lot of the fighting seemed almost frivolous–…every movement should have been with determination, and every attack with the force of their entire being poured into it….
But they seemed so casual in their fighting…and maybe that makes it seem like they’re really badass and like, all this stuff is normal for them….but that doesn’t bring "soul" into the action scenes….>>
I mean like, even the battle animations in FF7’s game had more soul in them…
The way Cloud moves during Omnislash in the game is more in the spirit of "fight" than the way he did Omnislash in the movie, if you know what I mean…>>
How about the entire movie? Yes, the movie was eye candy, but the movie as a whole is pure crap. The story makes me shudder, and the short-lived appearances by various of characters makes me cry. Let’s face it. Why do people like or even watch it? Because it’s about Final Fantasy VII.
Everything?
Where do I start?
word
but if SquareEnix really wanted to start their domination in 3D animation, they’d have to get some of Pixar’s team…
like that’s gonna happen…what blowhard would abandon a company that creates completely original stories for a conglomeration of knuckleheads trying to milk as much money out of ONE story for all its worth?
bottom line…Pixar doesn’t need the "fancy graphics" to make people see their films, they have the know-how and intuition to put elements in their work to create patrons to their productions that lead to long-time sales over a wide variety of demographics…unlike SquareEnix and their mindless followers…who try to beat a dead horse and tell everyone that they’re being "original and giving new life to a classic"
This movie sucks.
I know this movie has no relation, but Shneiders List was around 4 hours and it was complex, so that means Final Fantasy Advent Children can be long too.
Just my opinion.
*EDIT*
Actually scratch that. I think some of the action could have been more original and less… Matrix. I must give FF AC props for doing a better job at mimicking the Matrix action then some shitty action movies try to do.

things can always be made longer and more "complex" my piling bullshit on top of bullshit…just check out John Kerry’s little speeches at universities and his recent stab at our troops
also take into account that length and complexity are completely independent of one another and are not always present at the same time in films
take a look at Titanic…long movie, linear plot
look at the Korean movie Face…the movie was a little over an hour long and was miles more complex than AC…they had no plot holes and used everything that they gave their audience to tie things in at the end
More movies should be done in AC’s graphic style, though–both here and overseas. This would solve the problem of finding the right look for the actors (e.g., Metroid).
*sigh* I wish they’d make that new Dragonlance movie in a near-AC style. >_>

you can make things look pretty when they’re not moving much…but if you look closely during the "action" scenes…the characters pretty much move, more or less, in straight lines
it think i’ve said this before…
Pixar CG Animation/Rendering > Square CG Animation/Rendering
Pixar CG Animation/Rendering > Square CG Animation/Rendering
agreed
I do wish they would lengthen the fight scenes though…they are some of the best CGI movies I have seen…
and the movie should have been longer, its storyline gives it the potential to be far longer
