You should set it to "inactive" and then back to "Active" My guess is that setting it to Active gives you a new IP or something, but the thing is, if you attempt to download a 2nd file without setting it to "inactive" it won’t work. A nice rule of thumb could be:

Every time you download, turn it OFF, then turn it ON again.

Here’s a nice solution for cheating the megaupload toolbar:

This trick works with Firefox. Follow this walkthru:

1. Visit this page – http://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/59/
2. Click "Install Now" to install the User Agent Switcher
3. After the installation restart Firefox.
4. In the Firefox menu bar go to Tool–>User Agent Switcher–>Options–>Options
5. Click User Agents–>Add
6. Enter Description: MEGAUPLOAD
7. Enter User Agent: Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows NT 5.1; SV1; Alexa Toolbar)
8. Click OK, then OK again.

After that each time you go to megaupload choose Tools–>User Agent Switcher–>MEGAUPLOAD.

Found a nice cheat for MU limit exceed. Let’s see:

1. Suddenly MU throws a window saying "Download limit exceeded" and in the middle of the page it shows your IP with 3 different ports, 1 of them selected. Clic on any of the other 2

2. MU throws the same page. Paste in your adress bar the original adress of the download link and press enter (or click "Go" or whatever)

3. It should download correctly.

I saw this some-blog-where today and it worked for me. Did it work with you?

about 15 sec off waiting time for megaupload
and about 30 sec off waiting time for rapidshare.

And, as a plus, there is no download speed limits. For example, some download sites will not let you download more than 100KB/second, this program doesn’t keep to those limits so, in theory, you could download things a lot faster.

Maybe it’s not about the software…These last days I’ve having trouble downloading from MU in several ways. They say it’s something about adding more space and that the current bandwidth goes only to Premium-users.

I have a problem with the program, it says "Error downloading file – Server returned an HTML". The thing works very well after I have to try a whole load of times to download it, but otherwise, it’s a pretty annoying problem. DOes anyone know how to solve it?

If your computer does not have an up-to-date antivirus, or does not have an antivirus solution at all, follow the instructions below to delete the malicious program:

1. Delete the Trojan process.
2. Delete the original Trojan file (the location will depend on how the program originally penetrated the victim machine).
3. Update your antivirus databases and perform a full scan of the computer ( download a trial version of Kaspersky Anti-Virus).

For the record, I installed this a while back – it did none of the behaviors that you’re talking about. Is it possible that you picked that virus up elsewhere? At any rate, BitDefender 10 didn’t pick it up, but I’m running Kaspersky’s Online Virus scanner to double-check. I’ll be back with the results in a bit.

Okay, I just looked over the massive ZoneAlarm thing you posted… Apparently you just did a google search for usdownloader.exe, right? Read it again. The virus you’re posting about is HARVESTING FROM usdownloader.exe, it is NOT usdownloader.exe. In other words, the virus you posted about tries to steal your passwords to rapidshare, megaupload, etc from USD’s info files.

This is equal to saying that Internet Explorer is a virus because a trojan uses it to harvest your passwords.

Please, if you’re going to be overly paranoid and Google happy, READ WHAT YOU’RE POSTING FIRST.

If you don’t want to install it, fine – but don’t spam this thread up with useless misinformation, and unwarranted alarmist paranoia.

It’s confirmed after a week of clicking on download links for Megaupload: they decided not to be friendly for my country anymore unless you install their toolbar(kept getting redirected there -_-) There is no way to install their toolbar for Mac. Can somebody please help me to deal with MegaButtload!!! 😡 😡 😡 I’ve tried the program that this thread is about and it’s not working for me. I’ve tried two suggestions that were mentioned here: Download the MegaUpload for FireFox, enabled and disabled it when I was supposed to and it still gave me the "Exceeded download limit"!!!:mad: I’ve also tried the other suggestion of copying and pasting the link after that page is displayed and nothing changes.

MegaUpload must really hate me because after only one download this "Exceeded download limit" page comes up and it forces me to wait another 5 HOURS! before the the next download. I’m not even going to start on the horrible download speeds. Does anyone have some more tricks that I can use to, at the very least, get around the download limit? Any help will be very much appreciated.

One last question: I’ve been looking around for some different uploading sites and I came across MediaFire (http://www.mediafire.com/). Can some other people try this site and see if it works any better? It seems to have faster uploading speeds (avg for me: 700kb/s) and some decent download speeds, it’s completely FREE and there are no 3 digit codes to type in.

@Sussertod: I get from MU more than 100. Could be one of these:

1. You’re using your bandwidth on something else
2. Someone’s stealing your bandwidth
3. MU servers are in bad shape. I think this could be the one, since these last weeks I’ve seen many warnings about them upgrading their servers for free users.

Hmm, I haven’t had that problem. I’ve been able to download a maximum 100MB per file with no problem. Oh yeah, I probably should have mentioned that there’s a 100MB per file limit, which isn’t a problem at all, just use the ‘Split file’ function of WinRar and you can easily tell MediaFire how many files you want to upload from your computer, select the individual rar files, one for each upload, and it’ll do everything in one single upload. I find this site to be quite neat and far less frustrating then MegaButtload.

If you’ve noticed any complications when trying to download the files that I’ve uploaded well…that was my fault (copied the wrong URL), 😮 But I’ll be fixing that soon.:)

Oh sorry, I should have looked a little closer to your post. Well I’m not sure then why it’s downloading slower for you. I’m averaging about 400 to 550kb/s when downloading, and the upload speed is decent too.

Well anyway, the biggest problem I have with MegaButtload is the download limit, it really takes away from this site especially for those who can’t use the program mention here in this thread and can’t get the workarounds to work either. I’ve been looking around for different uploading sites and MediaFire seems to work the best for me right now. 😀

So that better they do not use Rapidget?

Theoretically, after installing you go: Tools >> Megaupload >> Enabled. Then you click on a MU link and it should work, but for some reason many tricks have stopped working here (Mexico) Maybe in other countries will work…

Why does megaupload suck and rock so much at the same time? It’s mostly suck for me because I would probably have to stay up late if I wanted to download anything from their site, timezones and all.

Alright, I’m getting a load of errors from this program. At this rate, it’d be quicker to download from rapidshare the old-fashioned rate.

well, it worked for me with divshare, and it seems to work with rapidshare too

but it doesn�t work with megaupload, but that�s maybe a problem of my country only, that the slots are always closed, but i think that, it should be somehow able to bypass that
