Official-arty-esque group of my OC’s. May be colored? (http://www.deviantart.com/deviation/39525453/)
Generic kiss scene thing. (http://www.deviantart.com/deviation/39912340/?qo=8&q=by%3Atouzoku-joou&qh=sort%3Atime+-in%3Ascraps) Blah.
Everything else I have online is old and crappy and not worth my effort of linking. :B
AGNST (http://www.deviantart.com/deviation/40838869/). Just some pure AGNST. Coloring practice. Raped by scanner.
Two characters that aren’t really as generic as their designs let off. (http://www.deviantart.com/deviation/41151536/) Okay, maybe they are. This drawing is an anatomical nightmare.
Lugia is one sexy Pokemon. (http://www.deviantart.com/deviation/41820726/) Done for a contest. And nostalgic purposes. =P

:smrt:
I saw the word ‘scribble’ and entered this thread thinking there would be Graffiti Art in here.
But thanks ^_^
Ive done life drawing for 3 years
and its really fun.
It does help a bit, but more for realistic pictures rather than anime stuff.
But thanks ^_^
I was top gesture artist in my drawing classes in college…before then I did always have trouble with anatomy as well. So I suggest you do gesture sketches and then develop the line art from the gesture. It helps, believe me… A few exercises I can tell you is to have a model to a pose before you and then try to capture the curves and movement of the figure in about 15 seconds or less. Do alot of these, and don’t be afraid to overlap a bit just to catch the whole figure at once. Here are some gesture drawing examples, though they’re not mine.
As you can see, the lines are mostly expressive and loose, getting a general idea of the structure of the figure. AFTER you draw a gesture, begin doing a contour overlapping each one (or make a new set of gestures for refrence and do contours on those), by outlining the mess of lines until you have lined the entire firgure…after the general outline, begin filling in the details of the lining, like fingernails, small hairs, ect. Then I suggest you erase your messy gesture lines to clean it up. Lastly, do the shading using an imaginary light source from your drawing… if you have a model, put a strong light on them and MOSTLY look at the while shading your drawing in, just glancing down ever y little bit to guide yourself.
You should have a oretty decent looking drawing if you pay more attention to the figure than to your paper. Also, when creating a gesture, don’t do the head first, as it will usually throw your proportions off. Try to find the center of balance and messily scribble out a gesture from there. You should get it to look fairly accurate.
That’s about the only way I learned how to do proportions… you can check out books as well, but for really good drawings practice makes perfect…literally.
Anyways, hope it helped.

Not true. Though anime may be cartoons, the basic practice of drawing the figure enhances the ability to make the cartoon people have accurate body proportions. For example, I used to draw my anime characters with huge heads….which is a big no no unless it’s your style or a chibi form. In this case, it was my mistake of trying to draw heads first, then add the body later….
When I took my drawing classes I learned the importance of gesture sketching and from then on out my anime has improved. Drawing from life teaches you a thing or two about proportions and shading, which can be transferred to anime, if you already ahve a nice talent at anime drawing… however, trying to draw realistically for all of your life and then switching to anime may be difficult, because you DON’T see the connection. Carry the same principals from life drawings into the anime, and you’ll see that you improve. Also, I notice you copy alot, instead of trying things out, which may be another hinderance to your anime drawings blossoming.
Because anime has partial realism, it is vital to study the anatomy, especially the proportions, to achieve believable characters. Shading/Toning helps highlights the curves of the body as well as the bone structure of the face, but you can’t rely on shading too much, as it can never make your work a masterpiece if you start from a bad base.
When drawing anime, breaking it into steps will help improve your drawings. When I draw I do six steps. Shape (lol stickfigure), Volume, Anatomy, Clothing, Shading and Final. You can probably combine a few of the steps, or leave some out, but by starting off with basics things like shape and volume, you will get the correct pose and body proportions.
But why listen to me? I’m only 14…
New shit. Decided to MSPaint it instead of fuck it up traditionally.
But thanks ^_^
You’re good, how long have you been at it?
3 years here. I can safely say that you’ve gotten quite good in such a short amount of time. :-*
With more scribbles. Because everyone knows my opinions on ultra-femme yaoi boys.
