But it seems that my disc one freezes at the very star of teh opening cinematography on the beach
I am using PAL format and wonder if anyone else has this problem. Ive tried flipping my playstation over, bashing it on its cover, do you have any other recommendations
It goes on my computer on an emulator but I’d rather play it in the playstation
Try it out an a newer playstation because the PSX is ooooold.
Ive checked the disc, it looks fine.
Spose i’ll have to get a new playstation, im always one model behind when it comes to game systems
i agree it happened to me turned out i had a lot of scratrhces
Madame, you are now two generations behind. Also, buy a PS2. $70 for a PSX is total bullshit.
Try smashing it with a hammer. That might work. ๐
With that aside, odds are it’s your game disc. The same thing happened to me with FFVII, the game would constantly glitch up when it reached an FMV. My game had a scratch, but I was stubborn and replayed the part at least 60 times before it actually managed to work.
It’s completely up to you whether or not you want to go out and buy a new copy.
Also, is your copy of the game legit?
Firstly, don’t bang the system – it’s not its fault it can’t read the disc! If I dirtied a page and told you to read it, it would be difficult for you too.
Check for dust and scratches. If you see none that doesn’t mean that none is there – the surface is dark after all, so – on to cleaning the disc anyway!
Use room temperature water and don’t be afraid to completely soak the surface of the disk. Next, take some soap on your finger and soap the entire surface of the disk gently, moving your finger in a circular motion. (This gets most of the dust and grease). Then wash off ALL the soap and dry (COMPLETELY) with a soft cloth.
Test the disc. If it doesn’t work it’s probably scratched. Moving on…
Wax the disc. Waxing a scratched disc fills in the gaps made by scratches on the plastic surface. If you are willing to spend some money, there are CD waxes you can purchase but if not, I’ve found that car wax works very well! Just get some wax on a soft cloth and gently polish the disc. Test the game again. If it doesn’t work – moving on…
Since the disc can be read on a computer’s CD-ROM drive, make a copy and use the backup CD. That is assuming that the ps1 has a mod chip of course!
Hopes this helps – good luck!
