I think they level up with your characters. Seriously. You need to be extremely careful to try and sneak around them, because even with 60+ defense, 60+ magic defense, Shellga, and Protectega, their basic attack does well over 3500 damage, and they can chain hit 8+ times. Easily, and very, very, very quickly. Shields don’t make a damn bit of difference (everywhere else they’re awesome; not against these bitches). You better be packing lots of Phoenix Down and Elixirs/Megalixirs; Raise isn’t fast enough, they’ll knock you out before you finish casting it, even if you have your Augments filled out (or any other spell, for that matter).
Also, some of the Baknamy absorb Dark, and they like to swarm (little motherfuckers). The rest of the monsters in Nabradia are very tame by comparison, including the bosses. Chaos is waaaaaaaaaaay easier than a group of Baknamy. And ooh, what they’ll do to your Summons. Hilarity. I dunno, maybe it was just my particular game file.
So, someone explain why goblins (that’s what the baknamy are supposed to be) are so freakin’ borked in this game? For real, the whole rest of the game, including all of the hunts and secret bosses (save for Omega Mark, that was a bitch), was much easier to deal with than these little fuckers. I think my game was glitched. The Undying was a total puss compared to these freaks of nature.

They are annoying!
Masamune is the only thing that kills them. Nothing else hits enough times, and the spells are -too slow-. This is the ONLY TIME in the ENTIRE FREAKIN GAME where spells are too slow!! I was laughing my head off at these Chuckie-wannabes. Yeah, there’s definitely something wrong, mine have hella more than 20k HP, Masamune usually has to chain five or six times before one of them goes down :/ .
Entites are nothing compared to the Baknamy. The only thing they do which is crappy is the Silencega spell, and you can guard against that no problem.
i hate the npc in old archades that is a condescending jerk, and as part of the storyline you have to pay him for his condescending-jerk-services.
