While Gecko Yamori’s remixes like Never return alive and Spin On The Bridge are cool too.
B-A-C has also done some great remixes too on this soundtrack SOR1 Streets and Beach in particular are very nice.
Yuzo Koshiro did an amazing job composing these songs back in the day and i can safely say this OST is a excellent tribute to the great Koshiro.

I wonder why the original archive is so large.
good luck in your wips ๐
So much so I’m using one of them as my ringtone on my fone =) .
I can’t download at work because of terible bandwidth (my boss is a cheapskate), have to wait until I get home! -_-;
Work on V5 is progressing nicely and a number of new remixes are in progress too including Up and Up, Ready Funk and Expander.
Stay tuned =)
is it possible to re-up?
Thanks in advance
It’s at the bottom right on the blog. http://www.bombergames.net/sorr_project/
Good luck and I hope you try the game out as well! I can’t wait for V5.

Exactly.
Groove posted a new Dreamer mix a while back. This is probably the one that will end up in V5:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nfLtdIFF93M&feature=channel_page
I was kinda disappointed that some of the songs from v4 had been altered. The Character Select for one is horrible in v5 compared to v4. Same with Going straight and Last Groove. I hope someone makes ogg files out of v4’s music so we can replace the newer songs.
So many of these companies don’t deserve a penny for games any more. They know how to alienate their fans.
If this came to court, I can imagine defense counsel (and the judge) wondering, ‘gee, if this is such a big deal, why’d you do nothing about it for eight years?’
Just like they had to have know how much interest there was in a revival of the SoR series… really, what prevented Sega from working out a publishing deal so this could have found its way into the retail marketplace?

Exactly. They could have paid these guys for this too. In the end really, it’s all over the net in torrents or megaupload/rapidshare etc… so people can still get it… it’s just a real shame Sega gave them a CaD order.
I named it "BGM Set 1" just in case I have time to record more. If Sega has a problem with me doing this, tell them I said bring it.
*Please wait as I’m creating both Sendspace and Mediafire links. Multi-uploading is taking 20+ minutes. I will edit this post soon.*

Temporary Bump…all download links added…
I have it though, so as long as people need/want it, I’ll be ready to help distribute it however…Sega’s own damn fault for pumping out Sonic crap, and ignoring their other awesome franchises…
Um…which one?

There is a link to version 4 that is still working.

Sega, you’re a bunch of miserable shitfucks.
Did anybody manage to grab the Prototype mod for SORMaker before Bomber took it down?

I told about first post, OST v. 5.0
Yes, and many people would still want to get those emulated original versions. I really doubt it would have had a huge impact. The insanely widespread availability of free emulators and roms is a much bigger problem.
Plus, they tried talking to Sega about it many times for eight years, and they didn’t seem to care one way or the other until it was all finished, for some reason.
Sega is just a bunch of crybaby has-beens. It seems they now consist mostly of money grubbing corporate executives and lawyers who care nothing for games. They are now a monster who will stomp on their own fans for no real reason over a franchise they haven’t even touched for seventeen years. Anything for a couple extra bucks.

It’s a fucking fan project.
If these are supposedly such a problem, why doesn’t Sega do anything about the kajillion of Sonic hacks floating around?
Thanks for the link,btw.
Apparently the fans who made streets of rage remake sent out letters to sega corporation asking permission to make the game, but sega never replied. So Sega is being very bitch because they knew the game was being developed. Maybe hey saw how srcew up games they have been making and saw how good this one is. and….. they should have hired these fans. They made a hell of work for 8 years and a hell of good result.
Does someone has somehow the new tracks for the Final version fo the game?

Well, here is a small sample of the music from V5.

I am going to assume that this music will be in high demand, so I will go ahead and record MORE music today.

Short Answer:Yes, and…More than likely, to some extent. (Regarding ogg file converting)
Well, while the program I am using can in fact read .ogg files, I had a few reasons why I do was recording with the method I have been:
– When I first started, I was only recording them for personal use, assuming that a full release would have come sooner.
– However, seeing the…’situation’ that is going on, I went on record a few more at a time with what spare time I had.
– The number one reason I did things this way….was out of habit. I recorded on of the first Streets of Rage 3 gamerips that was considered good for it’s time (before direct RAW-file-to-mp3 extraction methods were well-known).
Since…..things are not going to be settled anytime soon with sega I imagine, I might work on a few more files here and there. Tonight however will be the last night I can work on anything seriously for a while. I can’t imagine what I’m doing to be too complicated anyway, so I trust someone else can work on this later down the road.
(There’s too much personal stuff going on to go into any detail, so yeah.)

No problem mate. Well, I shall start doing a rip myself (doing the ".ogg editing and stuff" method), for my personal use, and it’s gonna take a while to do it as well. However, I believe I will use some of your recordings as reference. If I ever release it here, I’ll give proper credit.

This is all I might be able to do for now. If things turn out a HELL OF A LOT BETTER for me tommorrow, then I will resume work. If not, I will find a way to let you all know sometime later.

You are recording music straight from the game, game that play lossy OGG files, and then you are reencoding the music to MP3, losing even more data ?
Everytime you convert anything to anything you always loose some data. I’m sick of those kind of problems, because I don’t see it has a problem, y’know.
For him to getting this to mp3 is great enought of him, and I do apreciate. :p

When standards change from mp3 to "lossy ogg" on a MASSIVE SCALE (to the point where mp3 support no longer exists), then we will talk.
Why don’t you just go to the music folder and convert the oggs to mp3s straight away?
Why don’t you just go to the music folder and convert the oggs to mp3s straight away?
Because OGG files are cut in 2 parts, 1 file is an intro while the other file is a looped portion.
What he’s doing here in jointing the tracks, adding some fade out effect, etc…
I wish bombergames would release the soundtrack already but even their website is down at the moment.
"Big Boss" track on the demo version was also great. I have not listen that on the final version yet :/
I didn’t noticed this theard, so I’ve edited & converted all the OGG files myself (it means 76 tracks, 192 kbps, ~300 Mo). Don’t know if what i’ve done is really ok, since it was initialy for a personal use, and since my knowledge in all theses stuffs are a bit limited.
I used Audacity to "join" the files (intro + looped parts), and add some fade-out effects. All the MP3 files are properly tagged, even if I didn’t manage to find the artists credits.
I can share with you if it helps, but please don’t bother me with technical considerations, I just did what I could with my means.
The .rar file is splitted in two parts, uploaded on 4shared (as I usually do) :
Part.1 (200 Mo) (http://www.4shared.com/file/oYL6g-jz/Streets_of_Rage_Remake_-_Compl.html)
Part.2 (86,6 Mo) (http://www.4shared.com/file/g-C261iw/Streets_of_Rage_Remake_-_Compl.html)
Btw, the game is awesome, a pain in the ass that those scrubs from Sega acted like that. Anyway, thanks to bombergames for the hard work and this wondeful revival.

These kind of beats loose a bit of the addiction with just 2 minutes long on some tracks. I rather preffer them a bit more bigger.
but in general it is nice work you have done. ๐

That’s the method I am using in a sense because some songs are just TOO short otherwise. For that reason, I will continue to work on mine.
EDIT: I see what was done for this now. I’m definitely going to have to complete my version now XD. Many of these feel…incomplete, but at least there’s a more complete collection now.

Some tracks are looped, some other are not, for some reason…
In general I manage to reach about 3 minutes or more of music. But there’s few tracks which don’t even have loop points.
Some tracks aren’t looped because, well… personal tastes I guess.
There’s 76 tracks, and it took me several hours to edit/convert/tag all the OGG filesand, so I won’t fix all the tracks. I can edit some of them for you. I’ll check what can be improved.
Either way, I am listening to it now. The editing was superb, the intro transitions are very smooth. Very nice!
Take Cycle I for instance, I may not have neccessarily fully looped that track, but edited it to an extent that it had decent duration. But then again, you are right about the massive length of time to manage 76 tracks. I suppose the most important thing is to get it all out there, and worry about edits later.

Here is what I edited personally. Listen to them and the approach I took for them. You will notice my version of Spinning Machine is a just a bit longer to give it a decent length. (As well as a few others)

When I was editing myself the tracks, I was doing the same thing: some short tracks were looped, and on the others I took the same approach you had, to keep an average time of 3~4 minutes per song. And it ended up very well indeed.

I was jut giving a hint. ๐
Some tracks are too good to be that short of 1 minute. ๐ I was talking about the tracks of 2 and 1 minutes long. 3 minutes are fine by me :p
Personal tastes is not what we are talking about, but I give you lot of Kudos for this big effort. ๐
76 tracks is a lot yes. Bombergames site looks to be down. They were going to release the soundtrack, but has it seems they may not be able to do that. :/
Yeah, that’s the method I used sometimes.
Mmh, I don’t really think the most important thing is to get all the tracks and worry about edits later, I edited the tracks the way I like. As Rafael 00_Agent said, some of them can’t last over 3 minutes, at least to my ears. Maybe I’ll fix and extend some of them (my spinning machine version is a bit short, i didn’t realize before), but overall, i’m quite satisfied with my own edits. If people are more pleased with your work, that’s fine, I just wanted to share what I’ve done for myself. Keep up the good work mate.
Orie : Sorry for the misunderstanding. Thanks for the kind words, Sound Reaper’s work is fine so I guess you can grab his own tracks which are a bit longer than mine ๐
I didn’t know they planned to release a soundtrack… Even if it’s not surprising I guess. What a pity the site is down…
To tell eh truth I’m loving both your efforts. ๐
At least someone is getting some dedication for this. ๐
I ama SOR lover since … since I remember I had a conscience XD. TO wait 8 years for this game, I must say these guys should be hired by sega. They made a lot of better job then all their games in the past years.
seriously this is 2011 guys, not 2001, it should be nothin less than 320k..anybody want them lower can easily convert them from 320 themselves

The original .ogg tracks had a 128 kbps bitrate, so I guess this wasn’t done because it would be a hell of a waste of space.
but seriously, i didnt know that..i’m very sorry.. and good work to those that did it..thank you
Thanx to Neph for the link
I will make it a album for me diviing it into 4 cds (at least that is what I’m counting). I will make a cover, unless someone else will be able to make it for me a back and front cover, because I don’t have the best tools to make covers and quality is not something in these softwares I have.
I will add also a txt file with infos of the tracks about original composers, and fully mp3 tagging by me. :). I’m also wanting to give these "CDS" names. I thought about somthing like this:
Disc 1 – COPS
Disc 2 – THUGS
Disc 3 – NINJAS
Disc 4 – VILLAINS
This is subject to changes. If any have something to say about this. The tracks are going to be pretty much the same order that they are in the game folder, which it is also how they are on the site for download. But I think It would be cool to put names on the cds. I’m not sure of what really to name it. :/
With this I need help. ๐
I have to thank you all my friends by your rips. Your work is deeply apreciated ,for me at least ๐
In regards to my previous post, Disc 1 of my compilation is now complete. I’m separating the songs into 3 discs. Disc 1 is the main soundtrack, Disc 2 is the Alternative Remixes Pack plus the remixes from the prototype mod, and Disc 3 will be a revamped version of my original V4 rip. I will be re-looping each V4 song and editing the fadeouts. There would’ve been a Disc 4 which would’ve contained everything from Jizamez’s 16-bit pack but I’m sure everyone can find those floating around somewhere.
Can’t stop listening!
