1. The FMVs in between the action. (well duh)
2. Swords, Magic and Armor.
3. The RPG format.
And I have come to find that Dirge of Cerberus does NOT have any of these three features. Therefor, I am NOT dumping the game (it’s not bad) but in my view, it should not be known as Final Fantasy. (the only thing connected to Final Fantasy is the characters and the storyline.)
1.A deep engrossing storyline.
2.Well developed intresting characters.
3. Better than most games.
Check Check and Check.
while on the surface it differes from the run of the mill FF games its is none the less a FF game one i must purchase and finish this time 😛
Better than most games. What a laugh.
so as you can see while not being the greatest game of all time this game still offers something for the player.
btw i am far from a DOC fanboy. i can see there is a large amount wrong with it. and once iv finished it i wont play it much again but i do belive it has some redeeming qualities
But lets face it. DOC is not an RPG (and to avoid an attack of Prak, or whatever Final Fantasy games are), but a third person shooter. And there you see the failure of the game. You walk around doing double jumps when the auto aiming does the rest. You can barely find things to cover yourself. These are some points that made the game uninteresting and unoriginal for me.

You know, your use of big-name games makes your argument invalid for one blaringly obvious reason. It can be applied to just about any game out there. You first state that it isn’t as good as some big-name games and then revert to say that it IS better than some other big-name games.
