You can really hear the similarities when listening to tracks like "Pierce the Heavens with your XXX" from the GL OST…

Well it definitely wasn’t at the top of my list of things to do. I just got a refurbished 30GB Zune for $99 bones and I was tearing through music and came across the OST. So I decided to pack it into a RAR and upload.

It’s interesting that the whole CD seems to have been mastered at about half the optimal volume. Nothing that can’t be adjusted in an editor. Plus it provides the almost unique chance to hear new music in all its proper fidelity, as opposed to after having undergone drastic dynamic compression.

Yeah, I took notice to this immediately when I was playing the CD in my car.

Seems to be symptomatic of a somewhat irresponsible mastering effort. Now that I’ve had a chance to listen to the whole thing (thank you, holidays), I noticed that track 16 isn’t even in stereo. I can’t really complain, since I didn’t forward any money personally ;p but you can bet I’d have had something to say about it on their forums if I had bought it. I’m sure it’d be a simple matter to secure a proper stereo version from the authors.

Incorrect, I’m afraid. It’s still been dynamically compressed (horrifically). It’s mastered far too low (75% too low) – what a cock up…

Has anybody seen OST 2? I’d love that…

This soundtrack’s pretty awesome. Perhaps the music has been compressed a fair bit, but it’s still decent quality IMO. Thanks for uploading.

It isn’t that is isn’t good…it was just an issue with the audio compression that occurred either during or post production. Other than that, it is a great CD.

I’m looking through it now for the chase music when Molly was after Spirit. Not sure if it’s there or not. Aikka’s Theme was an important one I was hoping for and it seems to be there. A full version of "A Chance to Shine" would have been good. Man, is it ever short here. Ah there, the International version is the one I was looking for. Oh yea, "Molly’s Theme Action" is definitely one to have.
