I need an opinion.

So I have decided that I am going to pick up a new game this Friday and I have narrowed the choices down to these:

– Twilight Princess
– Devil May Cry Box Set
– Go reserve PokeMon: Pearl

Which is the best choice?

obviously pokemon i could play that for hours and hours at a time, the good old days =)

well it’s obvious what I think.

In terms of replay value, I expect that Pearl will be your best bet, anyway. Endless training and playing others online.

If it were me, I’d pick Twilight Princess.

Pearl. Much more gameplay time.

Pearl, even if the DS versions dont’ have random wifi battles like they totally should.
Your next purchase after Pearl, of course, would be Pokemon Battle Revolution for your Wii for those random wifi battles, right?

Twilight Princess is fantastic but it takes less time (at least for me) to beat than an average run through a new Pokemon game takes, and Pokemon has waaaaaaaay more lasting power and replay.

Well I love PokeMon but I want a nice solid game. Plus, I just got through playing all the GBA PokeMon games.
Pearl does sound nice though.

Reports from people who have the Japanese copies of the games are that Hidden Power is absolutely fucking rampant in online play, actually. Anyway I don’t mind that much if people hack for perfect HP moves since that is something it’s possible to get anyway, but the thing is, you would not be able to tell if people were using pokemon hacked for perfect IVs & natures.

Anyway, you’re right, strategy is the biggest thing. But that’s exactly the problem. I don’t want to play against a bunch of idiots who don’t know what they’re doing and think they’re badass because their entire team is made up of dragon types. I could 6-0 them with one fast special sweeper with ice beam, but what’s the point? I am quite positive that at least 90% of the random opponents you’d get would be no fun at all.

Oh, and incidentally, I reserved a copy of Diamond at TRU today, and apparently they give you a free Pokemon stylus when you do. It’s totally rofl. It’s the size of a pen and has a dumb Palkia or Dialga figure on the top. Why would you use this instead of the handy one that you carry around in the DS ?_?

I had one really great idea though, which is carrying it around in my pocket and when I need to use the touch pad at a store to buy something with my debit card, go, "I choose you, Palkia!" and pull it out and use it to put in my PIN number.

Eh, it wouldn’t be that hard to police. Just have it so people can only fight people within 5 levels of their averaged team level or something, or so the players can set what levels they want to fight. Put some code into the game that detects cheating. Colosseum did it, now it’s impossible to get your pokemon’s stats above the natural amount or the game crashes. Wouldn’t be that hard to prevent people h4xing ubers.
Of course, you’d have wi-fi optional. so you have to actually select wifi mode.

it would be possible, but the game is already out and it doesn’t have those things. Though unnaturally high stats, I think it might. I’m not talking about unnaturally high stats, I’m talking about perfect ones, which are virtually impossible to get but technically are "possible." The game won’t register them as cheating but they essentially are.

Not really a huge deal though, as it only marginally affects the outcome. My main point is just that people are douche bags, and I don’t want to play with them.

I wish I had a DS. Since your recommending a Pokemon game to this guy, would you recommend me to get Fire Red or Leaf Green for the old advanced? I didn’t really like Sapphire or Ruby (I prefer the old ones). And do they have some new moves?

New moves, and new locations to visit after you beat the elite four with new pokemon to catch.

For the most part, it’s the same game though.

I’d say Emerald is better than FR and LG, but FR/LG are a lot of fun. I’m just about to take on (and hopefully beat) the elite four in LG and it’s great reliving the old adventure.

I am from Pallet Town, and I can tell you that Fire Red is my game of choice.

Because that green game has a loser named GARY.

Man they should have had an Electric Yellow or some other type of yellow remake man people must not like me following them around but whatevs i guess i am still cool since i am on a tv show.

🙁 I want a DS bad but I’m gonna buy either Squall’s costume from KH2 or the Organization XIII coat for a convention that’s coming up at the moment and I won’t have enough for that and a DS.

Well by remake I am guessing you mean LeafGreen and FireRed on the GBA?
To be exact, it is the same exact game with extras, such as:

– More TMs and abilities to be learned by PokeMon
– +10-15 more hours of gameplay after the Elite Four
– New islands to explore
– Oh and did I mention the extra 100 or so PokeMon they added from Johto?

With Diamond and Pearl do you need to exchange friend codes to battle/treade?

Battles require friend codes on D/P. Pokemon Battle Revolution for the Wii will however contain random wi-fi battles.

Pokemon consists of you fighting pokemon, capturing them and training them to beat the game and then gain access to extra areas and battles. Also team battles are fun too and was going to return.

Twilight Princess allows you to kill monsters, ride horses, fish, and experience the new face of the Zelda Legacy. using the wolf is fun too ^_^

Both legacies are well respected in the gaming world, its just that Zelda has had a longer run than Pokemon (but that doesn’t really matter).

If you’re asking me, I’d go with Twilight Princess.

If you think about it though, the whole idea of pokemon is cruel lol.
Capture animals against their will, stuffing them inside little balls and forcing them to fight till one becomes unconscious. Yet the show itself is all about friendship lol. Somethings not quite right there.

Having them live in a virtual box known as "Bill’s PC." Then take them out only when you need them and fight others.

The show is about friendship because if it wasn’t then everybody would be mad about the Pokemon abuse in the show, I mean it if it just a bunch of heartless trainers battling it out with Pokemon for some sick pleasure that just wouldn’t be a children’s show. You have to add friendship to justify it.

But really, in the end it is all about the epic battle between Shigeru Miyamoto and Satoshi Tajiri.
