http://www.megaupload.com/?d=32YZKYZD – ORGELBEARBETNINGAR, "ORGAN ARRANGEMENTS" – Yes, the title is boring. But the cd is fun! It’s a lot of well-known classical tunes played on church organ. Contains an organ version of Hall of the Mountain King, among others.
*****
These aren’t videogame or movie soundtracks, but I’ll put them here anyway because a guy requested it. It’s tons and tons of massive pipe organs. Not chorals, mind you, but classical organ music influenced by jazz, pop and rock.
http://www.megaupload.com/?d=M079K621 – LοΏ½TAR. Organ and keyed fiddle. ‘Dance V’ is wonderfully upbeat and fast-paced, and ‘En bit hοΏ½rifrοΏ½n’ sounds like… is best described as… No, I don’t have words for it.
http://www.megaupload.com/?d=A98XZ9XE CATHEDRAL MUSIC. *drool*. 100% cathedral organ. Don’t miss the last track, ‘Hymn’.
http://www.megaupload.com/?d=GORZJLBG INCONTRO. Organ and electric guitar. Has a nice rock version of Jehan Alain’s Litanies as well as some jazz. I’m not a jazz person but this cd is still very good.
Hope you enjoy this! π
And I downloaded all of the others. Thanks! π They’re great.

…agreed. o_o
Love the pipe organ. Thanks for the upload. ^^
Do you have fugue?
Edit: Wow, good choices =D
Well I cannot say whether you will like these or not, music is different to everyone. But I do encourage you to give them a chance! I have a few (40 or so) tracks on my mp3 player with classical church organ as well, but I can’t say I ‘adore’ classical in general. Jehan Alain’s marvellous Litanies is a fav though, as is Marcia from Symphony no 3 by Widor, and Encores Canon in B by Schumann. Prelude from Te Deum by Charpentier is another piece I like, but now I’m kinda bored of it because I spent two months learning to play it! I guess when it comes to classical I’m mostly into baroque, HοΏ½ndel and such, but not Bach. Bach is like a math school book – very clever and on a high level, just not very interesting π Maybe this will give you a hint of what my uploaded albums sound like.
Yes, fugue (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fugue). Do you have any?
Versions of Bach’s toccata & fugue in d minor? I have a lot of different recordings of that piece, as well as an arrangement by Vanessa-Mae and a techno version that I have no idea where it comes from. I you want I can zip them and upload them when I have time.
Hehe, I am fond of Baroque music myself, and particularly Handel! His music somehow manages to sound very regal in the English kind of way.
As I said, I will give some of these a try. The electric guitar one certainly does not appeal though :-X
Aw, I almost consider it part of my mission in life to bring the pipe organ to broader, and younger, audiences. That is why I seek out music that gives the organ a more modern sound.
I admire the instrument itself very much. It is so complex, and every organ is unique, like humans. I feel that most classical music does not fully show off what the organ is capable of, but the modern albums that I have uploaded here do that better, especially Cathedral Music.
Well, let’s hope the other albums than Incontro are more interesting for you then π
Fugue is a category, not just that specific piece, though I have that one already; it’s pretty common. I was wondering if you have anything besides that and Contrapunctus VIII.

Hehe…I am pretty old-fashioned given my age!
I do love the sound of the organ, and admired those who can play it given how complex even its appearance is! To me, though , the use of the organ in classical music is already fantastic. I guess the greater depth of modern organ arrangement is just too complex for me to appreciate; I did download "Cathedral Music" and, I’m sad to say, found it quite dull, albeit not intolerable π
ffmaniac: When it’s time to reupload the albums, I will try to find another site than megaupload, because I don’t want an organ fan to miss this stuff π It may take a while though, my upload speed is not the best so it takes about 3 or 4 hours to upload a single album.
I have recently made flac rips of these albums, so when I reupload, all albums will be in flac, tagged, and with album art.
I shall wait for your help. Thanks all the same!!
No, not THAT organ, you sickos! I have an old pipe organ built in the early 1900s, which I keep in a room full of musical instruments.
I’m a fan of the baroque music and the pipe organ.
Toccata and Fugue in D minor is awesome!
Bach Rules!! haha

You lucky b*stard. I wanna have an organ in my home too! I have to go to a church to play one… Your organ, that is, your pipe organ, is it a big one, and what organ builder is it? If I get immensely rich one day I’ll have a huge room with chandeliers and lead windows (not sure about the term, but church-style windows), and a huge pipe organ in the middle… :swoon: Well, dreams are for free.

These areοΏ½nt working anymore for me. Please reupload π
Here’s my first contribution. Possibly in my Top 10 Most Earth-Shattering Pieces Of All Time! I want it played at my funeral.. so everyone can feel as utterly dread-ful as possible π
BACH – PASSACAGLIA AND FUGUE IN C MINOR
(Performed by Ton Koopman)

A ‘Passacaglia’ is basically a musical form in which a ground bass is repeated through the texture while elaborate embellishments and variations form around it in the upper parts – though the bass ‘theme’ needn’t always stay in the low voices. In this one Bach came up with the bass line to end all! And then he treats this theme fugally (beginning at 7:36). You’ll be exhausted by the end!
Oh and here it’s performed on a Baroque organ for full effect π

Thanks for the ear-sex ;D
Seems like a mighty awesome collection.
