Notable feats – He…summoned a meteor and burnt down a village. The meteor failed and the village was tiny so they’re hardly impressive. There’s more but I can’t remember any.
He is inferior to Exdeath.
So as his theme.. – One Winged Angel..
I like it veri much..
the fact that he failed in FF7 without even facing the Weapons, which were incidentally designed for the very purpose of attacking jenova which is technically him, diminshes any sense of him being actually that powerful further. in short, an aesthetically cool character with an interesting back story and suitably insane plans that does not fulfill his potential
Sephiroth: (reading a book) …an organism that was apparently dead, was found in 2000 year old geological stratum. Professor Gast named that organism, Jenova… Year, X Month, X Day. Jenova confirmed to be an Ancient …X Year, X Month, X
Day. Jenova Project approved. The use of Mako Reactor I approved for use… My other’s name is Jenova… Jenova Project… Is this just a coincidence? Professor Ga st… Why didn’t you tell me anything? …Why did you die?
Short time later…
Sephiroth: Don’t you get it? An Ancient named Jenova was found in the geological stratum of 2000 years ago. The Jenova Project. The Jenova Project
wanted to produce people with the powers of the Ancients……no, the Cetra! …I am the one that was produced.
From the lies told him and his own bizarre logic, Sephiroth deduced he was “created” and a test-tube baby. This conveniently severed any ties he had with humanity which he seems to have also fabricated a story for.
Sephiroth: Long ago, disaster struck this planet. Your ancestors escaped… They survived because they hid. The Planet was saved by sacrificing the Cetra. After that, your ancestors continued to increase. Now all that’s left of the Cetra is in these reports.
So, Sephiroth’s motives are a righteous hate for humanity. To avenge his “ancestors” and mother, he must kill and “take back” the Planet from humans. He then proceeds to perform his infamous rampage in Nibelheim.
But, isn’t this knowledge invalid? He wasn’t created. He wasn’t a Cetra. The “mother” of his was the real thing that wiped out the Cetra. This is fact. Yet, Sephiroth…
Sephiroth: …Ah, but I have. I’m far superior to the Ancients. I became a traveler of the Lifestream and gained the knowledge and wisdom of the Ancients.
Sephiroth: HA! You can not win, Cloud!
Cloud: But why are you doing all this with the godhood and stuff?
Sephiroth: What do you mean?
Cloud: Well, you stated that your mother and the Cetra were all killed by my people. And that you would kill us all for our crimes and take the planet “back for mother.” Yet the Ultimania Guide says you take Jenova over. And you yourself say that you gained the knowledge and wisdom of the Ancients. Which I presume would include the fact a large amount of Cetra were killed by your mother who isn’t your mother and is just an alien from space. There’s zero reason for you to be doing any of this.
Sephiroth: Aha. You are quite clever.
Cloud: Not really. It merely takes a cursory glance through the script or actually reading what you say to figure out that your motives are a plot hole and non-existent.
Sephiroth: But now I shall travel the stars like mother!
Cloud: DUDE, haven’t I just told you? The thing you ripped the head off of, charming way to show your affection to mommy dearest by the way, ISN’T your mother at all. Your mother is in a cave on the planet you plan to destroy.
Sephiroth: ….
Cloud: Seriously, you were in a the Lifestream gaining all this power and you call it knowledge. Yet it’s made you completely stupid. Why are you doing any of this? Tell me.
Sephiroth: SILENCE! We shall fight!
Cloud: I’ll beat you for like…the 4th time now.
Sephiroth: AHA! The creators state clearly in the ReunioN Files that I am the most powerful being in all Final Fantasy VII. You have no chance!
*Sephiroth loses*
Sephiroth: Oh snap.
Cloud: While you are in your most powerful incarnation, it also notes that all the uber power is never shown in this movie. Isn’t that convenient.
Sephiroth: I shall not become just a memory!
Cloud: Sadly, you probably won’t become just a memory of a generic villain with even less reason to be a villain than Bowser in Mario. You’ll pop up in yaoi that makes everyone sick and gouge their eyes out when they see it. You’ll appear in other games no one cares about with probably even worse voice-acting than you’ve had in all your appearances. As long as the FFVII Fanboys exist (ie. Square-Enix and all the FFVII creators) there is no hope of sealing the wound and curing the blight you’ve left on good antagonists everywhere.
i agree the fact he never exerted his true power in advent children was cheap and kind of helped the movie to fail though. (i didnt mind so much until reunion files confirmed his lax approach to the fight. the movie had other flaws anyway)
hi
sephiroth controls jenova. this is confirmed by square.
in FF7 cloud fights sephiroth with all the materia power he can find, and with the rest of AVALANCHE. in advent children he uses no materia and the rest of AVALANCHE watch. sephiroth didnt exert himself either, this is also confirmed by square. therefore, his appearance was fan service waste.
I don’t think he can laugh. Horus fucked him up pretty badly, or his body at least.
damn someone beat me to it
Something like that.
hahahahahahahahahahahahahaahahaha…
Silly Sephiroth fankid.
He can return from the brink of death because Square needed him for a sequel.
+He was a high-ranked member of an "elite group" (SOLDIER)
+He leveled a small town into a raging inferno.
+He continues to manifest himself throughout the entire series via the tainted Lifestream (post-Crisis Core?)
Everything else about Sephiroth was carried out by his various "clones" after his demise against Cloud during the Crisis Core arc.
If he only had his head on straight, he would be one hell of a beast to take on.
His only real handicaps are:
-"Mother" complex.
-Not knowing the truth behind his "creation".
-"Vegeta Syndrome"….think about it.
You can take that how ever you want it.

lo fuckin l
But only has two posts to his credit.
Just sayin…
Of course Sephiroth controlled Jenova, seeing as Jenova was never conscious throughout the entire storyline.
In Advent Children his manifestation was merely an illusion brought on by reunion with Kadaj. Sephiroth turned right back into Kadaj as soon as Cloud kicked his ass.
Meteor was a pretty big deal(more like a pretty big turd, why it’s symbolic of the giant turd you want to drop on this game[/avgn impression]), but Sephiroth didn’t summon Meteor on his own. He manipulated Jenova into summoning Meteor by pooling together all the Jenova Cell infected people together in one place so as to lend Jenova enough power to pull it off. The result was more or less unsatisfactory. Sephiroth Killed Aeris, returning her to the planet, the holy materia falls into the lifestream, and Aeris is in the lifestream with it. With the life force of all the planet’s souls(ironically this probably also included those of the robed fucks that Sephiroth killed after borrowing their power for the summoning of meteor), the holy blast, blasted Meteor out of existence and obliterated what remained fo Sephiroth. (Which still got returned to the lifestream…) All in all Sephiroth undid himself by killing Aeris. Her powers were not destroyed, but unleashed by liberating her from her physical form, and placing her in the lifestream put her in the best possible position to unleash Holy, not only granting her an omnidirectional arc in which to cast it in any direction, but by placing here right in the midst of the most potent mana-pool in existence throughout the setting. Whatever it was, wherever it was, whenever it was, she could strike it. And with the lifestream at her disposal for this spell, every person that Sephiroth murdered made Aeris stronger, and Jenova weaker. Of course, weakening Sephiroth’s spell also weakened the force that kept meteor from succumbing to gravity and crashing down. Killing Sephiroth sets the final descent of meteor into motion. What is accomplished by killing Sephiroth, ridding the world of a destructive psychopath. What is the purpose of fighting Sephiroth, not much really… He was suspending the damned thing in air, gloating over how fearsome it was, and just waiting for Cloud to come and fight him. What were the stakes of defeating Sephiroth? Not much really, If Sephiroth killed Cloud and company, it would have only meant 7 really badass lifeforces and a remote control Moogle got added to Holy’s grand burst, so all that was really at stake was Cloud and Co’s own lives. Getting to see Cloud beat the crap out of Sephiroth with just the Buster sword, Priceless… The whole purpose for the fight against Sephiroth was for entertainment reasons really, and to ensure against the remote possibilbity that Sephiroth could possibly interfere with the casting of Holy… Man, had Sephy stayed his hand and left Aeris alive, the planet would’ve been royally fucked(or shat on rather).
So the synopsis. A whiney emo with an Oedipus complex and a sword that compensates for his small dick, wants to drop a giant turd on everyone who ever gave him a swirly in high school…

tl;dr
Epic win.
tl;dr the rest
Man, had Sephy stayed his hand and left Aeris alive, the planet would’ve been royally fucked(or shat on rather).
That’s a very interesting point. Much more of a shock than anything related to his crazy father, Hojo.
If Vincent wasn’t such an angsty wuss back then (he still is, just w/ a larger gun:-P ), he could’ve saved everyone the trouble of Meteor AND Sephiroth.
Hell, he would’ve beat him into submission (can’t say he’d kill ’em, but can’t rule that out either), get the girl, and unknowingly save the world!
Everyone is happy….I think.
Arghhh!!!
Anyway, yes, it`s only Vincent`s fault for being a wuss, withdrawing himself in a coffin and having sex with Shelke as if nothing ever happened….
I`m joking anyway. Who could have sex with that slutty little Shelke.
I forgot to say that Sephy is strong, but he had a bit too much of that "mommy" complex… Mum killed the child *cries*

I love it when Fanboys get all pissy and defensive over their favorite characters when someone badmouths them…makes me lol…
Cloud`s dick isn`t small!!!
Arghhh…
I wasn’t talking about Cloud, and yet you got all defensive of his small package. Yes, Cloud’s dick is small, but that’s not the whiney emo I was talkin’ about.
Arghhh!!!
It’s not small, it’s microscopic.
*Goes into a whinny crybaby rampage disregarding all logic*
Final Attack/Phoenix? Besides, I don’t think Super Nova can KO your characters if they’re at full HP.
Naw if i can remember it’ll turn you in to a frog or sumthing? and i think zombie and all those abnormal status???
Super Nova is weaksauce.
