Any takers on the question?
If it wasn’t that, it might have just been me randomly walking around and stuff, and then randomly coming to the desert, and then suddenly it pops out and I’m all, "Ooh! I found out what I was supposed to do!"
I used to play RPGs in Japanese (back when I couldn’t read Japanese at all), so I’m used to randomly going around talking to everything until something happens.

What’s the appeal of an RPG if you can’t understand anything that happens?
Challenge! O:]
And it’s not as if you can’t understand anything at all!
There are things to understand from RPGs other than words, right? (The characters moving, the battles, and all that stuff…)
I like to make the most out of what I’ve got in front of me.
And uh, back then, I was too young to completely understand any game, anyway…
All the games were just fun little things where I would pop in some cartridge, and get to press some buttons to see the things that happened on the screen. …I don’t think it really would have mattered if it were in Japanese OR English….
