you can use the classic controller or a GameCube controller. The controls will be more or less the same.
I don’t know what makes anybody think the gameplay will be any different. Melee was basically the same as 64 Smash and both were some of Nintendo’s most successful games on their respective systems. It’s not broke so I don’t think they’re going to fix it.
So far I’m pretty sure the only thing that could really and truly disappoint me about Brawl is if they haven’t picked Kirby up again for it. The fact that he was made a shit character for Melee was the only thing I disliked about that game.

I don’t know if you mean, "is in Brawl" or, "is good again" by PICK UP.

Kirby was fine, in my opinion. Well, in Home Run he was pretty hard to deal with. Since the official page of Brawl says Kirby hasn’t changed much, we can probably conclude that Kirby is virtually the same in this game, except with of course more powers since there are new characters.
On the main subject, I myself think that the new features are really nice. The Special Brawl has some bad points, like there is an awesome custom Brawl there, but the variety is too little. I mean, I want to set my own Stamina and percents along with other stuff, thank you very much. I hope the Subspace Emissnary does very well for itself, and I think that it’ll probably surpass Melee’s greatness.
Actually, we can’t conclude if the balance will be the same at all and that’s reallly what TK is concerned with.
Kirby had all his numbers nerfed for Melee and his Up+B was changed so you can’t trap people and hit them with all hits easily. Hopefully he will be less nerfed.
I preordered it today. That tells you how confident I am in it. ๐
I still remember many nights getting my ass handed to me by my cousin when he used Kirby on Smash Bros 64.
Sounds good – the fact that there is still more online modes to be confirmed is even better.

Nintendo can announce as many online modes as it wants to. The fact that there is most likely going to be no voice-chatting support for such a huge franchise almost makes me wish there isn’t any online play. I mean really, I don’t know if I’m going to be able to make due with pushing the D-pad in certain directions to dish out responses to my friends during matches or whenever. I’d much rather just call them, put the phone on speaker, and talk it out that way.
Nintendo is making a huge mistake if the game doesn’t support voice chat.
IF YOU ARE ASKING BECAUSE YOU WANT TO CHAT WITH ME PICK UP A DS AND POKEMON DIAMOND OR PEARL MAN THAT HAS VOICE CHAT MAN IT WILL BE DINO-MITE
I AM SAYING DINO-MITE A LOT RECENTLY
The Wii is fully capable of it, but currently there hasn’t been any games planned to make use of voice, nor has Nintendo announced any plans to have voice-chat. But you can at least be somewhat comforted in the fact that third-parties are pushing hard for voice-support.
I could go into how silly it is to suggest a character is good just because you couldn’t beat somebody who was using him, but I’m talking about Melee Kirby, who has less in common with the 64 version than different. Kirby was probably the best character in 64 Smash. His forward smash was the best in the game, his screw attacks were monstrously powerful, and his floatiness was a huge advantage.
Melee Kirby is a piece of shit, plain and simple. I don’t care if anyone is going to say they have seen someone do well in Melee with Kirby; that’s because they are a better player than the people they’re playing against. Melee Kirby has godawful Smashes, mostly worthless special moves (only his suck attack is good, and not for the reasons most people think either), and, worst of all, his throws are almost entirely unusable, as for some unfathomable reason the developers decided to make them incredibly easy to break out of so that you usually don’t do a lick of damage with them against a skilled opponent. Add that to the fact that he’s very easy to KO and you have one of the worst characters in the game.
That’s not to say he doesn’t have some advantages. He does. He’s the best character in the game for suicide killing, for example. If you can get ahead in lives you can win purely by swallowing somebody and commiting suicide a million times. He also has some very effective aerial attacks. All of this is only effective because it is surprising, though. Any experienced player who knows what to expect and has dealt with a good Kirby player before will almost certainly win if they are using a good character.
So, that’s what my complaint is. Kirby is one of my favorite characters of all time. He was rightfully a force to be reckoned with in 64 Smash. I want his power back! I want his fsmash that comes out in a split second and hits like a speeding truck. I want throws that can actually be used. He doesn’t need to be a broken superpower again, but man. If Kirby sucks in this game, I’m going to destroy the universe.

Well, you can say that, yeah, but to deal with Kirby, since he’s one of the lighter characters, therfore he shouldn’t be very slow, take advantage of that. I really like to use the L and R buttons to play, and jump a lot when I need to. Yes, Down + B sucks (I only like when COMs can use it). If he does suck in Brawl, then experience will have to take over and you have to tolerate. Lol, Kirby does have a good suicide attack, but I always see DK more of the one that loves using throws. I don’t always use throws with Kirby, I use the more Special or Aerial Moves. Oh, and the Dash one too. I managed to beat three level 9 COMs teamed up against me, handicap 9 to 1 (I was 1), three lives with Kirby through a sneaky strategy (Lol, it’s very funny, that’s what I like best about Kirby’s thing there).
Don’t forget his awesome grab-up drop.
(I can only play as Marth and Ike uses a two handed sword which means he’ll be slightly slower)
Also has anyone heard anything about Captain Falcon being in Brawl?

That’s nonsense, or at least so far. There has no been official reports Roy and Marth are gone. If there is, link it here. And C. Falcon, I can’t prove, but he probably will be in Brawl considering his was in the previous ones.
It isn’t awesome, that’s part of what sucks so much about him. It can actually be broken out of before you get a chance to even use it.

No offense, but if you think being able to outwit and kill 3 computers with a "sneaky strategy" has anything to do with Kirby’s viability in multiplayer, you really don’t understand what you’re talking about. I suggest doing some reading at a serious Smash community like Smash World and you can get some idea of what the strength tiers are and, more importantly, why. Check it out, watch some videos on Youtube, and you’ll start to see how upper level play works. Kirby can’t hold up in it.
Yeah, you can see I didn’t read them. I’m not as focused on Smash because no one else really plays as in I don’t have as much competition around me, I just play in leisure time. If you insist though, I’ll check it out, if Smash has some sort of inner system similar to Pokemon’s, then yeah I’ll definitely remember this. XD
Maybe I can play you once it comes out.
As for an "inner system," if all you really mean is that at an advanced level of play there are a lot of specific terms and techniques, sure… that happens in pretty much any competitive multiplayer. People usually refer to it as "the metagame," although I’ve never liked that term. Basically any game that a lot of people play multiplayer will have a very serious metagame in which all the best tactics and most advanced discoveries are kept up to date.

I like using the term Metagaming in Pokemon more. And yeah, that’s what I’m meaning for an inner thing, all right, thanks for the heads up.
Who do you plan on using in brawl?
Maybe I can play you once it comes out.
In Melee, I am very attached to Ganon, he was slow, but strong, very strong. I am also good with Link and Dr. Mario, but a lot of people are skilled with Link and I don’t know about the Doctor.
I think it was said somewhere that any characters featured in the first two games will be in Brawl. I think.
Since I can’t play as anyone other than Marth.
