I’m more interested in the KH titles on that list actually… And FFVSXIII. But that’s supposedly only 1.x% complete, so what are they gonna show anyway? But yeah, another FFVII game… WOW! Who saw it coming? Oh well, it’s just a rumour. TGS is only a few days away, so I’ll just wait it out before I get my hopes up.

I’ve seen Square-Enix’s ‘official’ line-up on IGN, which makes me suspicious of this list: it reads more like a dream come true. You can see the list here:

Still, like the article said, there could be some surprises. Although the combination of FF7, KH and SO4 would be enough for me to go down and put a deposit on a PS3 tomorrow.

Also: sorry to put the FF7 remake idea in the dust, but S-E has confirmed that there are no teams working on one at the moment. If there is a title called Endless Crisis: FF7, it will probably be a prequel, like Before Crisis and Crisis Core. Maybe it’s even a game that uses the PlayStation Eye, like Before Crisis uses the cell phone camera? That would be interesting.

Oh well, I guess we’ll find out soon. 🙂

Although, even if this list is true it still wouldn’t make me want to buy a PS3. Way too pricey at the moment imo.

I really doubt that is credible. Until SE officially say so, I’m gonna assume it’s a rumor.

SE recently criticized Sony on there marketing. In simple turns, "You suck at marketing the PS3". I honestly believe SE will not commit to a FF7 remake for the PS3 until they see how well FF13 and FFvs13 does. SE did say the FF7 franchise will be around another 10 years so that’s plenty of time until we hear anything.

jeux-france has let me down plenty of times imo.

On the other hand, rumor, due to the secret ending of Crisis Core, suggests an FF7 remake.

As far as I know, Square announced that there is going to be another FFVII game (why square, why?) but they already said that a remake wont be coming.

Btw, have you guys noticed that Cloud is not a main character in any FFVII game except the original? Or its just my idea?

FF XIII, FF V XIII, and Star Ocean 4 are real. The other 4 titles we don’t know if they are real yet. In the future a Kingdom Hearts 3 probably will be made, but the Kingdom Hearts team IS the Final Fantasy Versus XIII team, so if it’s true, then the new KH3 game is only in initial early development. I expect FF V XIII to come out in Japan in Fall 2008 and Usa in Spring 2009. It’s probably not too early to get some initial ideas/development out there for KH3 but I doubt they are working hard on this game. I’m most skeptical about the new FF VII game. I’m not sure if this article is real.

I’m hoping that they announce a Xbox 360 version of FF XIII and FF V XIII.

Square Enix’s Tokyo Game Show presentation is currently going down in Japan and we’ve got the first details on the trio of new Kingdom Hearts titles.

Kingdom Hearts: Birth by Sleep for PSP looks to be a single-player adventure in the vein of the PlayStation 2 iterations, though not "Kingdom Hearts III." Birth by Sleep’s protagonist was not explicitly named in the presentation, but he looked an awful lot like Zack of Final Fantasy VII/Crisis Core fame.

Kingdom Hearts: 358/2 Days for Nintendo DS appears to star Roxas from Kingdom Hearts II, but its main draw looks to be four-player simultaneous play using members of Organization XIII. It will be in full 3D.

Kingdom Hearts: Coded is a mobile game, likely for Japanese cell phones. It stars the familiar cast of main characters from the original Kingdom Hearts (Sora & co.) and seems to be set between the first and second PlayStation 2 titles.

Each title is said to have a time-related theme: Birth by Sleep is "the distant past," KH: 358/2 Days is "time of the other side," and Code is "time has gone by." More as it comes!

So, we now know that the lineup from the first post, from a leak, is false, but it turns out that it appears partially true so I don’t know who leaked it and why they would give out false info. So now let’s see what Square does!

i know its been a few weeks since somebody posted in this thread but….

i am about 90% sure that they are remaking FFVII for the PS3 because Crisis Core was selling really well in Japan….again, i got this from a source that was not from square enix so sorry if this is not true…

I`m still hoping, that only yet, it`s not true.. Soon maybe, really soon it will be a good thing, but now, Square, would just fuck it up…

Endless Crisis is a rumor that was proven false I believe. I believe a remake of FF VII will come out in a few years. Not sure what console it will be on or what team will develop it.

They released older FF’s for PS 1 but they weren’t ready to remake FF 7 and ended up releasing them again for GBA, they still weren’t ready I think so now they are releasing them for PSP and DS. I wonder what they will do? I wonder when a FF V DS version will be announced.

Of course they’ll remake it. The press and the fans keeps on asking them the question every time they have the chance. So they’d be stupid to ignore the demands.

The question that remains now is: when will they do it?

I think they’ll finish the remake of FF IV, then do FF V for DS, then FF VI for DS, then they’ll release the FF VII remake, but I am not sure what console it will be on.

By that time, I wonder if they’ll put it on DS(which is in the same league as PS 1) or maybe the next Nintendo handheld console will be out(which will be in the same league as the PS 2) and that will have it, or maybe they’ll make a big time remake and go all out by putting it on the PS 3.

FF IV for DS for Usa probably will be out in Spring 2008 for USA. Maybe Spring 2009 for FF V and Spring 2010 for FF VI and Spring 2011 for FF VII? Gah, that would be a long wait!! 😀

I think that the best thing we can do is to wait for the truth to be uncovered… Because sometimes when you have too many hopes and they all broke up it`s even worse than to do not be expecting anything at all…

The Kingdom Hearts stuff sucks. I don’t have any of the platforms. Poop. I guess all I can hope for is Kingdom Hearts 3 for PS3.

Kingdom Hearts 3 for PS 3 will probably be announced later, the KH team is the team for Final Fantasy Versus XIII. I expect FF V XIII to come out in Fall 2008 in Japan and Spring 2009 in Usa. We could get an announcement of KH 3 during the middle half of 2008 at one of the big game shows.

Given the track record SE is on now, a remake of FFVII is inevitable after they finish the remake of FFV and FFVI on the DS (to follow in FFIII and FFIV’s footsteps).

FFVII: Endless Crisis might not be so much of a rumor… Remember the secret ending to FFVII: Dirge of Cerberus? I wouldn’t be too surprised if there’s (yet another) FFVII spin-off. I mean, wouldn’t you want to know more about ‘G’ and his connection to Weiss..? o_O

Another FFVII spin-off might not be all that bad, ya know? It’s a heck of a lot better than FFX-3… Or even FFVIII-2: 90210 style (because you KNOW that’s what it would be like since there’s nothing else left in the world to fight besides one another in a knock-down, drag-out drama..) 😛

No matter if it’s a sequel or reinvention, FF7 on the next gen would be pure coke. I’m an FMV-head, so seeing the WEAPONS in better graphics would do enough for me (I could search youtube for those, though). Turn-based has (finally?) become played, so a new fighting system should be used/introduced

What the hell is Endless Crisis? Are they refering to the game itself?

Endless Crisis FFVII on a loop. Once you beat Sephiroth and the credits roll, the game goes back to the opening cinematic and you start over. Also there is a mechanic implemented that doesn’t allow your PS3 to shut off or quit the game.

This site is notorious for pulling random things out of their butt… When they heard about FFXIII, they came up with ridiculous rumors to talk about. The only reason I would dare to believe it is because 5 of those games ARE actually coming out… For FFVII, the team is busy working on XIII, so I’m seriously doubting anything will come from that. And they never did say whether they were going to make a third Kingdom Hearts game for the PS3…

I don’t know if there is going to be a PS 3 FF VII remake, but they are working their way through remakes of FF’s for PSP and DS

First they re-released FF IV, V, VI, and Chrono Trigger for PS 1 in late 90’s/early 2000’s. Then in the mid 2000’s they re-released FF I through FF VI for Gameboy Advance. Now stuff is being release for PSP and DS…

A Final Fantasy 7 remake seems to be the biggest demand on fans’ lists these days, and so original director Kitase speaks about the possibility!

After a quick mention of his most recent title, Crisis Core: Final Fantasy 7 (which he produced), he goes on to talk about the demand and possibilities of seeing as remake of the iconic original.

"My feelings are that if a remake were to work well then all the core members of the original team must be reassembled, all the artists and designers.

The problem is that, although all of us have an idea of what a remake should be and how to do it, organising such a thing right now is logistically very difficult. All the different members are now involved in very new, very large projects like Final Fantasy 13 and those projects are going to take a while.

Maybe, when all those games are finished then we can look at doing something like that.

Of course, that said we came up with the idea for Crisis Core in just two days. It was a case of ‘this is what we want to do, so let’s do it’. So, you can definitely expect the probability of something spontaneous happening at some point, but it’s hard to predict."

So there you have it folks – it is indeed still a possibility, but a rare one at that. Maybe, after Final Fantasy 13 is completed, things might move foward…

Suprisingly, I’m looking forward to that more than many of the games on the list.

I think they should let it die peacefully as aforementioned however that’s not going to happen. Square has already succumbed to the demand. They would be foolish not to listen to the fans. I agree that they should reassemble the original team.

Im sick of hearing FFVII thats all I hear about FF7 this FF7 that I Hate FF7 with a passion. I hope that there isnt a remake I mean whats the point in a remake if u can just go play the game for the PC or PS1. Im not a fanboy I just hate FF7 & everything relating to it. The game has been milked for a while enough times already. I can see a Preqeul for FF8 though.

1. movies (like advent children), or
2. game for ps3
But, i just don’t want SE to release kingdom hearts for ps 3, I can’t buy it, it’s to expensive!!!! (I very like kingdom hearts ^^)
