How do you defeat these damn things? I’m at level 19 and I’ve learned that if you don’t defeat a monster the first opportuinty, you’ll miss out on it.

I’m about to come up on the Salamand Entite in the Ogir-Yensa. So far, I’ve tried everything. Physical attacks are ineffective, magic attacks are a hassle, and Quickenings only take a quarter of its HP. I’ve learned that it takes at least one person to get the quickenings going. But once I’m targeted, I can’t switch out members. What do I do? Help!

well the entites are the big ones right, they are harder then the elementals by far and for me it only seemed like physical attacks were only worth doing later on when you get much stronger weapons.

The problem with these guys is that they have only one type of elemental magic that can damage them. if a weapon you use has a specific element to it and the entite is not vulnerable to it he will be immune to that physical attack.

Entites like to eat low leveled parties for breakfast so stay away for now.

Agreed. Even at level 60+ these guys can give you a run for your money. The upside is that they tend to stay neutral.

The level of the Entite is actually what’ll throw you off.

You should not try to tackle them at only level 19, for they always are level 45. They are immume to all elements, except the one they are weak to. They absorb their own element and have above average defense stats.

Either defeat them with weapons that are strong vs their element, or have a decently strong party.

Small note, if you see them, never ever cast magick near them. They will attack you (this includes healing magick or anything that is beneficial for yourself).

When I don’t feel like fighting them, I turn my characters’ gambits off, just to be on the safe side.

I’m trying to get the Mardu to come out now. I think he’ll come out when its lightning. But its taking forever to get the lightning scene. I do know you can change the weather by zoning between sections, yet I don’t know how to do that.

Oh and any information on the Sylphi in the Ozmone plains will be helpful too.

Zone right from the first screen of Giza (coming out of Rabanastre). Keep zoning until you see heavy lightning in that section. Make sure you run towards each end of the area as it sometimes appears at the far end.

The Sylphi one comes out when the weather is overcast (grey skies). It’s on the screen before the entrance to Golmore jungle.

I have the guide. I’m talking about an in-depth guide about the Bestiary. Where to find the monster, when it appears, and how to defeat it.

The guide is notorious for lacking any specific information on the weather changes and the entites. Teimoshi is correct.

If I were you, I’d wait until I was at least at level 40. They are truly evil beings. >=(

I think I killed one with a Vaan & Mateus tag-team. I gave Vaan an ice sword and healed Mateus by attacking.

buy platinum armour, equip save the queen and KICK IT’S ASS! i LOVE fighting those things!

Didn’t think Entites had special circumstances for them to appear. Never encountered such difficuly personally. Only needed the Salamand Halycon for Balthier’s second best weapon.

Got the WyrmHero Blade.

Fudged the Zodiak spear chest in Nabudis.

Guess you need those other Halycons for Holy/Grand arrows and whatnot but it’s not all that great.

Just the Sagittarius Bow and Staff of the Magi, latter of which haven’t successfully hunted down yet. But then I sold the game awhile ago haha!

Still have the memory though.

you won’t miss out, either. an entite in the westersand appears like, ever 3rd time you go in there.

i’m guessing the guy who posted the thread is still in the beggining phase of the game.

there’s no need to rub zodiark or the wyrmhero (which even I don’t have) in his face just yet.

eventually, you’ll get to a level (around 35-40) were fighting entites and elementals is no problem. more fun than it is anything.
