Tidus: (narrating) From the first time I laid eyes on him, I never did like Seymour… But you know, some of the things he said that day… They made a lot of sense to me.

Yuna: I hope… I hope I did okay.
Lulu: You did very well! They’ve reached the Farplane by now. But… no tears next time, hm?
Tidus: (narrating) I wished there would never be a next time. No more people being killed by Sin. No more sendings for Yuna. Everyone stood there watching her. It was strange, and somehow… horrifying. I never wanted to see it again.

Both are very good. I really liked the humor on the first one, which is why I nominated. But Seymour.

(BTW, I wonder sometimes if there are some people every once in a while [none of the regulars, of course] who don’t know exactly what they’re voting for and think they’re voting for a character. It might be a smart idea to give each quote a title, as I did when I did quotes a while back, I.E. "Not Something a Maester Should Say.")

I dislike 90% of FFX’s spoken lines. The quotes I happen to like best aren’t even relevant to the plot, save for very few exceptions.

Seymour was a horrible character in my eyes, along with pretty much everything he said, while the Dialogue between Tidus and the Al Bhed at least made me chuckle a bit.

Seymour made this quote full of win. His couple lines of nonchalance toward Wakka’s protest of machina usage were kickass, and something a devious Maester of Yevon should say!

Titles for each of the choices are not really necessary, I feel. Each quote is presented again in its entirety when it’s its time to be brought up for a match.

If someone can’t decipher that this rumble pertains to quotes at the moment, and are basing their votes off of an erroneous judgement that a quote is just accompanying a character in a "FFX Character Rumble," then they’re not making an effort to grasp the concept of these type of things.

On the flip side, I don’t wholly take issue with your suggestion, Agent. Regardless of my past statement, I could see where some members would get that idea. For instance, an earlier edition of the rumble in the Final Fantasy IX section gave you the opportunity to vote for whichever duo you preferred, and quotes were provided to showcase the relationship between each of the characters in a duo.

Titles would be smashing, but The Master could simply implement "Quotes" at the beginning of this rumble and every so often as a reminder, to avoid any confusion.

I meant that it gets to another page in the thread, and perhaps some people that don’t realize what we are doing don’t see the original battle posting and think they’re voting for a character or character pairing. In other words, yeah, each quote is fully presented at the start of the battle, but somebody comes in and doesn’t know what we’re doing and doesn’t realize what they’re voting on.

No, I understood where you were getting at.

Well, If certain people are only looking at boldface names without bothering to check out what they’re voting for, then they’re just being inexcusably silly, since it’s common knowledge to, at the very least, peek at the beginning of a round to be conscious of what you’re choosing between.

Not to sound harsh, but I don’t believe for a second you should feel obliged to hold someone’s hand if they’re not making the small effort to head to the previous page to gain a full understanding of what’s going on.

I’m also of the opinion that it’s unnecessary because I’m giving the members here the benefit of the doubt.

The transition from the actual event to Tidus’s POV was smartly executed. Lulu’s encouraging words to a teary-eyed Yuna made the strain a sending could have on a summoner, especially a newly appointed one, evident. And concerning Tidus’s opinion of what he had just witnessed, it pretty much sums up how most in his position, an outsider, would feel.

Seymour’s lines have once again won me over. He, at first, displays trash-talking at its finest. Then, he earnestly informs the group of his plan to "heal" Spira, in a most batshit means at that!

I’m aware there’s more to Ronso’s Warning, yet I can’t seem to view it as nothing more than a couple of Neanderthals poking fun at someone, whom they regard, as lesser. It’s generally quite irksome.

Come to think of it, I’ve been sounding like a Seymour fan so far, and that’s hardly the case. You people have been choosing the dialogue where he’s at his zenith! =/

Also, regardless of anything else that’s been said, I don’t think that Baby Boink is the only one that’s irritated. I think we’re allowed to expect a reasonable update, and I think we’re right to expect it to be more than once a month. Once a week is fine — anything more than that is pushing it. At a monthly update rate, we’re going to end up having an edition that takes over a year, and that’s really not good. If you’d prefer to just have someone else do it, because you don’t feel like doing it, that’s all right. But I don’t think it’s unreasonable for us to expect at least a once-weekly update.

Final Aeon. Compared to the random Kimahri soundbite that is ‘Shut Up’, it’s far more of a defining FFX quote.

Also, I echo what Agent said about the rumble, and if you’re just going to cunt at us about it, then fine. But we’ll keep pestering you until you change it to something reasonable, so unless you want to have this conversation every time you update it (and often in between updates), I’d advise cutting the update gaps to something like a week.

Which you just proved, by being even more reactionary. Now, enough! Like you said, you’ll update it more often, and that’s the end of it, unless you revert back to once a month or something.
