to nite i looked into your eyes
i see that im not there
i tried but to no avail
so why even try
The reason is the passion i have for you
and every time this feeling shows up and stop
to listen if your not there.

Total crap. Unredeemable in every way.

Why do people persist in posting uninspired tripe like this? No one likes reading it, and we only bother out of morbid curiosity.

Admittedly, my knowledge on what differentiates good and bad poetry is pretty limited.

But couldn’t you at least have done a grammar check and given it a real point? The impression I get is that you had the start of an idea, but rather than choosing to take the time to explore it properly and bring it to a conclusion, decided to just stick down the first few sentences which popped into your head.

I typed this on a PSP, so I kinda expect it to look like crap.

Would suggest studying some poet works (assuming you haven’t already), to see the different kind of ways they’ve expressed their ideas and putting more practice in to improve your writing style and develop it further – ideally with a word processor. 😉
