Sorry I have to dissagree there, Every game has it’s faults but to say that each game has got progressivly worse is a very harsh statement imo.
After the original BO, we had Soul reaver which I think is one of the best games i’ve played, followed by SR2, which to me is the best one in the series, In-depth story and gameplay.
Then BO2, more of a prequel, not quite on par with SR2 but still good enough to provide hours of enjoyable game play, then finally defiance, which to me, gave a very ‘devil may cry’ feel while playing which I loved, and a fantastic continuation to the story which has left every lover of the series hungry for a good ending.
Thing about LOK is that the games are driven by the story, which for me, makes a fantastic series and one which I am very sorry to see, come to such an uncertain and undignified end.
There have been rumors about a sequel on the net for a while now, and I really hope those rumors are true, there’s much I’d still like to know.

Yeah Defiance Ending was indeed a total "Meh…", but it makes sense in it’s own way. Legacy of Kain series is a really good one, kind of unpopular, I don’t really like it’s gameplay, but my brothers tend to play it a lot, I enjoy the storyline while they play the game. I don’t know if there’s more room for a sequel for this game. Storywise I mean…
Great game.
Didn’t mind the end much, but I could go for a remake of BO2. It’s a little sucky that it’s technically the last game. They screwed so much stuff up.

Blood Omen 2 took place after Defiance as far as the storyline was concerned? Did not know that. Interesting.
I hope there’s a sequel. Future Kain finally becomes the Scion of Balance at the end of Defiance and his story after then is yet unscripted. I think he’s supposed to restore the pillars at some point.
Probably no Elder God though… No one can replace the late great Tony Jay.

Just what I was thinking. He had "THE VOICE", that reminded me that they’re trying to revive reboot, what are they going to do with Megabyte?, whatever that’s off-topic.
Indeed we need a new Legacy of Kain title, for the sake of that awesome storyline.
But it did loose itself.
Went into the deep end with the plot.
You’re right when you say that Audron became a tool of the Hylden, but allow me to clarify things a little better:
Defiance brought up the events Blood Omen 2, but is still the last chapter, story-wise. The Hylden Lord that you face in Blood Omen 2 is the same Hylden Lord that possessed Janos Audron in Defiance. BO2 is part of an altered timeline: After you kick the possessed Janos Audron’s ass, the Hylden Lord flees and use the poor guy to feed the Mass you destroy in BO2. Without Defiance the events of BO2 would never exist, therefore that game doesn’t have any relevance for the story.
Anyway, as for Tony Jay, a good sound engineer could manipulate almost any voice to match his perfectly, provided the actor can properly mimic Jay’s inflections.
