Just out of curiousity..
By "requests" do you mean "Requesting scores you already have" or "Requesting that you rip a music game you have not ripped yet" ?
Also Does Gary Schyman count? Because his Destroy all Humans scores are amazing (Especially The Big Willy Unleashed score which I can’t find anywhere). that’s it, i’m looking foward to the next batch of scores

Even I convert the sound files to MP3s and used the Goldwave program, the sound quality is still off, but I don’t know why? I also used it for X2: Wolverine’s Revenge, but the same thing happen, no change in sound quality

Thats because if ogg vorbis is the sourcefiles of the rip than thats the quality your gonna get even if converted, unless if the original was lossless wav, than you can convert it and change the quality, if source files are in oggm then its no dice.

I’m working on that dl. Since my internet filter blocks MegaUpload, I have to use a slow premium link generator in order to dl it. At only 70 kb/s, its gonna take another hour to dl the second part. 🙁

I know theirs a PC version so that would probably be the best rip, and yes the Bioshock radio drama is still comming but due to recent launches of media I’m involved with, probably wont surface till sometime in the summer…

If you own Crysis there is a pak file you can extract to get the music. The hard part is organising a listenable tracklist and merging the start-middle-end parts of each track.

This rip is merged 😉 The tracks 223 and downward are only small clips there was nothing to combine, all other are combined (start,middel x2 (looped),end).

Battlefield 2 Modern Combat, yes this is the full version which has all the multiplayer music, it was a crap job but its done and complete.
Def jam fight for NY, Another easy ea soundtrack with instrumentals included.
Heavenly sword, its a line in rip but a good one too.
Note i as planning to add three more rips to the batch but its too late and i don’t have time as megaupload gave me problems all day.

From another Jeremy Soule fan. Have you ever done a comprehensive rip of ARMIES OF EXIGO? It uses encrypted .ork archives, but I do know that the game uses ogg vorbis according to dlls. There has been a previous rip, but I think that was a line-in one (some sfx and short running time). Perhaps it needs someone with hex skills, and Im noobish in that area.

Lost Via Domus: This is the full complete rip of the bigfile that kataah did, another excellent job by him. PC version is 113 tracks, no line in here.
The Incredibles: Heavily requested by IM24CTU, this is dvdricks version, quality is average but its the only one that exist for ps2 version.

Speaking of ps2 games im currently trying to rip the new iron man game for ps2 and 360, 360 uses xma so no go on that, ps2 version is multichannel so im awaiting until either kataah ma souk rips it or i wait to rip on PC or PSP.

Turok> This is complete but couldn’t get complete filenames so i just tagged them with the bigfiles name, average score.
NFS most wanted> I ripped the score only and its much more organized than ricks rip, love paul linfords work on this one.

Tried ripping iron man for both ps2 and psp but both are crap to rip because both use adpcm interleaves especially psp which doesn’t use atrac3 but a ps2 adpcm variant with an interleave which is unknown, mgiht look at the pc version when it gets released.

Splinter Cell – Essentials> very easy ubi stream system ss4 variant from psp, it did not use atrac, but easy nontheless, alright score.
Fast And furious> this is the psp version which is various songs, pretty cool j-pop tracks, no score though.

Hey OrangeC, I’ve got a question. Did you use for PC ripping program called "Dragon UnPACked 5, and if so how do you extract and covert the music from the original files to MP3s or OGGs. I have the unpacked files of both "The Incredibles & Batman Vengeance" but the problem is that the files are 669. How do you decode them?

Those are not the files, which is hence why i don’t use dragon unpacker. its only for simple oggs or wavs in bigifles and the incredibles is much more complex, plus im busy with two other ubisoft games beowulf and red steel.

Why don’t you try to find out how to rip it yourself, thats how i managed to learn how to rip games, stop assking other people to do things for you like converting oggs or ripping files, You can request a game and then hope to se if i get around to it but don’t post the files and ask me to rip them, find out how to rip them yourself.

Okay finally updated
Got two mark griskey scores and two cris velasco and sascha rips
Beowulf> which was damn hard, had three different types of ubi stream codecs and even some false headers, damn hard
Prince caspian was easy wavs, alright score by mark griskey one of my favorites
Then there are iron man and teenage mutant ninja turtle rips both by sascha/velasco and griskey You can thank kataah for those and me for sharing it.=)

Well thanks for that – I’ll work something out by listening and picking out themes for myself, along with the one you mentioned.
As for Mass Effect, I skipped it on the 360 and just bought it recently for PC and I have to say that I’m enjoying it immensely so far – it’s immersive, technically impressive, and the story seems to be quite deep. I’m still playing through it, and by the looks of it it’s not something that one finishes too quickly, but from what I’m seeing so far I definitely recommend you try it out. 🙂

Heres another update.
Secret Agent Clank Goddamn this was a hard rip because the at3 files were encrypted so i had to use a third party decoder for PSP really slow and time consuming
NBA Street scores> really cool jazzy hip hop soundtracks with instrumentals
GRaw 2 Oggrip, was easier with the ubidecoder gui, might not be perfect like kataahs but its smaller to download an some stuff have been fixed. haven’t had much time for this though.
Wall-E, cool little easy score from PSP again, other versions were crap to rip.

Sorry dude, old website and game formats have changed since time, plus the only way to properly rip the incredibles is to figure out the interleave of the APDCM files, but its not so easy, hence its a lot of time and hard work and i don’t have that. Otherwise theres line in rip.

Any chance you might be willing to have a stab at Ninja Gaiden Sigma? The only rip I’ve seen of the new tracks isn’t clean (has the "select" sfx at the beginning of each track). I have the game, if you need files from it to pick over. The music is apparently stored in a .AFS file ("music.afs", if memory serves) but no utility I’ve found will read it.

(xbox:MAPS.SM2,Music_Birmanie.SS2,Music_Common.SS2 ,Music_Georgie.SS2,Music_Usa.SS2and PC: STREAM.SS2).
All files are completely extracted and that was a crap job especially the MAPS.SM2 which contain the main theme. Both versions are the same
(xbox and PC) but it looks like that the Ps2 version use a completely other file structure and i have heared that the ps2 version has a few bonus maps.
The stream.ss2 is from the pc version. Every track has 4 segments. The only way to combine these segments correct was to compare these music parts with a line in rip, so i worked with Joe Bloggs line in rip.
His rip has also a few other tracks than my rip because his line in rip was from the ps2 version so it looks like we have two different versions but it was enough to figure out which segments comes first.
There is also a other (rip) which has 27 tracks this rip is a remix version or maybe a promo or whatever. This rip has much more orchestra tracks without sfx but the original ingame orchestra tracks plays only when a movieclip plays with sfx, no way to get this sfx out of that file. Anyway this (rip) has also not all ingame music.
by the way you can extract the stream.ss2 with zenchs ubi extractor. Only the pc version. I have also compared these extrated files with the archive -> all files are correct extracted

Enclave was quite a surprise. I downloaded, knowing it was a dark fantasy action game back when the Xbox was still new. The music was surprisingly well done – it’s no Darkness, but a whole lot better than I had anticipated.

Hey Orange. Listening to Splinter DA and noticed that some tracks have a clicking sound as almost the track is skipping. I’ve downloaded twice just to make sure that it wasn’t a bad download. Still there. It is only on certain tracks though…. Was wondering if you were aware of this? Could it be the software I’m using (I-Tunes)? This has never been a problem for me before. Besides that awesome rip and thanks for the hard work! 🙂

Here is another update ive been working on before the forum went down.

Splinter Cell 4 Double Agent (Wii/PS2 Gamerip) – Michael McCann
This version of SC4 is different than the xbox360/pc version and its the same as the GC/XBOX versions, 360/pc had a different dev than the ps2/xbox/wii/gc version which is this one, it has different music variations and is much easier to rip since it never had 7-8 channels but only 4 channels for each level track, rest are somple streams, the main problem was it has a crap symbol rate mostly 2800hz and 29000hz but some had 32000hz, was crap to figure out all of them.
98% of this rip was from the wii but one other set of layers didn’t show up on the SS7 wii stream so i had to look in the PS2 versions SS1 stream and there it was. This is slightly better quality than kataahs version and has more tense cues. enjoy!!

The Wii rip uses the same score as the 360 version. If not more since there are no pre-rendered fmvs and every cutscene is shown in the game engine. These music tracks are in the package too!
The track "data pp00055" for example is the music during the Empirical mission. Absolutly marvelous rearrangement of the Star Wars theme by Griskey and my favorite track of the whole game.

This took a bit to figure out.
Game used a 6ch IMA ADPCM FMOD variant in a FSB container from the PC version. so i had to decode uncompressed wav and split the channels with audacy, so this is a layered score, but also include full mixes of the tracks.

Are there differences between GRAW2 X360 rip and GRAW2 PC rip? Except that the PC rip is considerably smaller.

Thank you very much, OrangeC! I was just wondering, how did you rip Cold Fear? I tried it many times myself but I could not find a program that could open it… I have to admit, I am a bit of a noob at game ripping. If you could tell me I would appreciate it very much, if it isn’t too much work for you of course. I really like this composer – Tom Salta. I know I may be sounding greedy, but I also heard that he composed Full Auto 2: Battlelines, and I heard a sound clip of one of the tracks that he composed for that game on his website, and it was awesome. Seriously, this guy is amazing. Therefore, if it isn’t too much work for you, I would also like the Full Auto 2: Battlelines game rip. I would appreciate it very much if you could do that. Thank you.

Okay for cold fear it uses FMOD IMA ADPCM 6ch, wavs packed into the FSB containers. what i did was use fsbext from luigis tools page to extract the encoded 6ch wavs, then used FMOD music player ex to decode the wav into uncompressed riff still 6channels, these now uncompressed wavs have three layers of music tracks into them with each layer having two mono channels, So i simply loaded into audacity which supports mutlichannel files and merged all mono tracks into stereo and extract eatch layer to uncompressed wav file.
About full line auto maybe in the future i look into that because tom salta is a good composer.

You know, there’s not much I like about Funnybunny, but there’s one thing that I must admit. His music taste is pretty good. I definitely would agree on his choice of Haze, and maybe on Dark Sector – I don’t know if it’s good or not. But, if you have time, I still think that Full Auto 2: Battlelines is the best choice. Tom Salta is probably one of the best v-game composers ever, besides Sonic Mayhem and Cris Velasco or Jesper Kyd. I won’t prod you for these soundtracks, but I just have problems ripping them myself because 1) My rip would probably be crap. 2) I can’t find these games in any stores near me, and I don’t want to go on Amazon. 3) I simply don’t have the HDD and processor needed to rip audio music from games. As I stated earlier, I won’t prod you for the soundtracks, but I would appreciate if you could upload them. I don’t want to become another Funnybunny. D:

Not only is there over 3 hours of 60 piece orchestral goodness…each piece of music was recorded individually by section…so that the percussion, brass, winds and strings sections can be mixed in real time by the music controller system. Ugh…just freaking wonderful.

Oh no! Dead Space got delayed! The PS3 and 360 versions come out tomorrow and Windows on the 20th. We’re going to have to wait again…
And by the way. is anyone experiencing problems getting on to gamingforce’s forums? There was some like ad or something on the forums and wouldn’t let you in. There’s some weird music playing in the background too…. I’m not sure if this is the right thread to post this in, but I know that you have made a Syphon Filter Logan’s Shadow rip. I’m not asking you to post it again. I’m asking for help. Your rip was around 500 megabytes in MP3 files, I think? I just ripped the at3 files with a grand total of about 50 megabytes. Am I missing something? I also found .skx files titled MUSIC. I ripped the audio files for Full auto 2 battlelines and they are in .at3 format. However I can’t convert them in HDMRenderer. I have and can convert other at3 files, such as the Logan’s shadow .at3 files. For some reason, I can’t convert these. Can you help me, Orangec? I can post a few sample tracks for you.

The different music that is featured on Paul Haslinger’s website for Far Cry Instincts Predator is actually the music from Far Cry Instincts Evolution for the XBOX. Far Cry Instincts Predator for the XBOX 360 features both Instincts and Evolution from the XBOX as one complete game. In other words, the Far Cry Instincts Predator game rip that OrangeC made has both Instincts’ music and Evolution’s music in one nice package.

Um… well… I’ve never heard of it…. Maybe this would be of interest though… for the .snu file.
If the file is sent as an audio file with any three-character extension it may be a dictation file where the extension is the dictator’s initials; playable by BCB Voice Systems software (see ??? extension). The file could likewise be a dictation file in TrueSpeech format. Use Windows Sound Recorder and/or Media Player to play these back.
And is it possible to just rip the audio files from a PC game’s iso? Or do you have to install.

In the Audiostreams folder, and search for the files that start with MX name, those are the music files.

The different music that is featured on Paul Haslinger’s website for Far Cry Instincts Predator is actually the music from Far Cry Instincts Evolution for the XBOX. Far Cry Instincts Predator for the XBOX 360 features both Instincts and Evolution from the XBOX as one complete game. In other words, the Far Cry Instincts Predator game rip that OrangeC made has both Instincts’ music and Evolution’s music in one nice package.
This is exactly what I said. Because no one sane will record whole new score for exactly same games with a bit better graphics.

About Dead Space. I’ve just finished it and it took almost 18 hours for that even on the medium difficulty level. Anyway, I don’t think that the score is that important, I mean there is nothing to listen while you are not playing the game. The music is in the game for specific purpose, to build up the tension at sertain moments in the game and because of that tracks are short. There is no tune, nothing for you to remember the soundtrack for, in my opinion. This is simply one of those soundtracks that works perfectly in the game, but you wont be listening that music otherwise for sure.
Then again I could be wrong…

For the Logan’s Shadow rip, how did you put the short streams together into longer streams? For gapless playback with no pauses in between streams. When I play them in Windows Media Player, there’s always a pause. Does KM Player or some other player fix that? WinAmp? I could use Mixcraft to literally put together the streams, but that is about as inefficient as you can get. Is there a quick, easy, and painless way to do this? Sorry for the inconvenience.

I know how to rip and open PS3 isos but the problem is that the file themselves are encrypted hard, which means i cannot access any content in them or find anything in a hex editor.

Actually I just played threw some Christmas Missions on the PC version and there were some new songs I haven’t heard before. Plus I checked the games "music.lst" file and the were more entries in there than I remember from the PS2.

You said earlier that there is an AUDIOSTREAMS folder in pc game installer isos off bittorrent. As far as I can see, there isn’t one of those folders. The only folder is the autorun folder. The biggest files are the data.cab files. I can’t open these files, though. The only way I can access the stuff inside is to install the game. Is there another way to access the stuff inside the cab files without having to install the game? Thanks in advance.

Not all PC games have the same folders and structures, BTW convert your FAT32 HD into NTSF.

Not all PC games have a folder called audio streams. you have to use your judgement and figure out where the music is stored.
And yes PC version of denied ops uses a PS2 ADPCM vairant thats not decodable yet.

Well obviously the audio files are gonna be compressed into those cabs and if you manage to get them out fine, but if for some reason they dont work or are weird in a way, then your out of luck unless you install the game.

I agree with your thinking, Orangec. Any sane person with a good hard drive should definitely simply just install the game. It’s easy and foolproof.
The thing is I don’t have a good hard drive.
I have to scramble and save every bit of hard drive I can. I can’t convert to NTSF without losing all my data and I can’t afford to buy a new external hard drive. If I had a good hard drive, I’d friggin install the game for sure. But for me, life’s not as easy. I can’t use the easy and foolproof way. I have to use odd, hard, stupid, and sometimes nonworking methods to get past these obstacles. Like this. It takes a longer time to get the audio files, but in the end I can save my hard drive space.
I wholly agree with you that installing a game is an easier and a better way to get the files. But in my case, I can’t do that. So I have to use my dumb way.
Now let us end this argument and get on with what we need to do.

Just got myself the "007: Quantum of Solace" game for the 360. Lovely oldshool shooting game. A mash between the original Goldeneye and a tinsy bit of Gears of War.
And the soundtrack is absolute majestic! I didn’t expect much and was more than pleasently surprised. Christopher Lennertz did an outstanding job! Its in the top 5 of best soundtracks of 2008.
And I adore the theme song!!! They remixed the original Bond theme and spiced it up with lush vocals by Kerli.

The 21 bin files are playable with the VLC media player and contain all SFX, voice recordings and music from the game. I tried to extract the bin files without any luck but I was able to record the new Bond song with an audio cutter. Its not perfect but it will do for now.
Maybe OrangeC has an idea how to extract the files without any quality loss?

I’ve heard that the Far Cry 2 soundtrack was fairly uninspired outside of its game setting (where it works very well) except for certain tracks like the menu theme, those ones with African vocals you were mentioning, etc etc.
Is there any way you can put up a "best of" kind of deal with just the tracks in there that you consider keepers? I would do it myself except that I don’t feel like sifting through such an unbelievably huge amount of files just to find the good stuff when you’ve already heard it all and know what you’re looking for.

Already extracted using a simple extractor, files are in MP3 stereo format, but the sfx and voices are in mono.

Yes this EA ADPCM is headerless and therefore its hard to reverse engineer. Not even FFMPEG can decode it.

I have looked at that also and it seems to use FMOD however its comboned with a different compression scheme, PS2 version might be easier.

Same with Red Alert 3 right? At least there was a official release in the collector edition or something. It’s an okay score. Not as good as the RA and RA2 soundtracks. By the way do you know if Mirror’s Edge uses XMA yet? It hasn’t come out yet so I might be a little premature in asking that.

Im almost certain it does.
Assassins Creed (Gamerip) – Jesper Kyd (Kataahs Rip)
Finally kataah has ripped this score, not easy heres how he did it.
Yesss the game. Worked damn long on that rip.
They really went out of their way to hide the music.
The main stream file contain 90% of the music BUT around 70 tracks are headerless ogg tracks. The header are stored in a different container which has an LZO compression. There is no ID of each header fragment. The only way to get the correct header is to scan the file for the ogg serial number
of each segment. I used Turfster .Forge extractor to decompress the file which contains the header, big thx for his great work, and to Zench for his tips and tools.
To the rip: Creed use an extremely variable stream system with lot of beginning and ending parts. Its nearly impossible to compare the rip with a line rip because the tracks can be really different. Anyway i have extrated 99% of the music, maybe a few ending parts which are shorter than 5sec are not in this rip but the main music should be there.

I have an easy solution for you.
1. enter the random code and wait
2. after the DOWNLOAD button appears just right click on it and COPY SHORTCUT / or LINK, however
3. open a new browser window and paste the link there
4. EDIT the section where it says "(Gamerip%7D" to "(Gamerip)"
VIOLA!! 😀

Crysis is an epic score with electronic elements. It’s similar to the Warhead rip, which is much smaller.

Spider-Fan, I’m doing that as I speak, in preparation for uploading the ***ULTIMATE*** Burnout Music Collection, which will be a thread with links to ALL the Burnout Music. It’s not some mismangled one either, all the tracks are organized, named, and will even have Album Art!
Speaking of which, I wouldn’t mind a minor rip of a particular track from Burnout 3. It’s the music that plays when you win a new car (it has an alternate version in Burnout Paradise called Bettie’s Last Voyage). All the other uploads is just licensed EA Trax, and the Title Music is also on B:P as the track called Ozone. A quality rip of the original game would be much appreciated also.

Damn. Thing is I’ve already recorded all the Bonus B3 Tracks from Paradise (along with the B1 tracks which are slightly different from the original tracks). Maybe if OC replied, or you could hire the game? Or maybe buy it, it’s one of the Downloadable 360 games, PLUS it should always be in any Burnout fan’s collection.

However B-Real’s part is cut off, so this is the remix of it and you won’t hear the full version of the song in the game. Also I have no idea where this track is originally from, what album or soundtrack. Can’t find anything about it at all.
Now for the fun part, all other songs are by Ill Nino. Oh man, Machado (Lead Vocals) is so damn different on all these songs that it effectively confused me to think that this is some other band.
And I think I know the reason for this, because all these tracks on the whole rip are for at least 10 seconds too fast. Or not, I’m not exactly sure.

god damn i???ve searched the whole internet for weeks for the FRACTURE score from tilton and giacchino and still nothing. is it so difficult to rip? its one of the greatest gamescores out there, massiv orchestral action a la starship troopers with strong themes and tons of great action music, but nobody cares?

Okay, you all may think this redundant since Galbadia has it up on its list, but as the sites still being put back into sync and I’ve already tried ripping it myself, gripping it and downright almost putting a boot into my computer to get it to work, I figure I’d ask here. I figure it’d be good to have this rip somewhere else just in case this ever happens again. Yea I even used the search function, didn’t work.

Finally update time!! been busy the past month and also these rips take a lot of time to complete.

This game had a really crap stream system with a 400 interleave on all tracks, it was also crap at finding the ending points for most of the tracks. also some sfx were mixed into the bigfile but i managed to avoid that.

Dead rising for wii used simple brstm tracks. So i just decoded them with vgmstream which is a winamp plugin, mainly for gc/wii formats.

128 was what CDex output it as (GoldWave doesn’t like the wavs output by the ripper, and MP3 auto conversion in the ripper is 128 anyway). Subway Showdown was one I had a bit of trouble with anyway, I tried to get that recurring bit out but it seemed when I ripped the entire WAD that actually possibly went there, so I left it in…

Thank you so much for providing the links OrangeC, and thank you Kataah for providing the rip. It’s gorgeous, perhaps one of the best PS2 rips I’ve ever heard. There’s so much music here that I don’t remember from the game — it seems like there was a lot of stuff on the disc that never appears (unless the PS2 and PS3 versions have fundamentally different scores. Who Am I? sounds quite different on the PS2 version.)
Out of curiosity, has anyone come up with a good set of track names for this rip? I’m trying to name tracks that are familiar after the names they’ve got on the official soundtrack CD, but there’s much more here than what’s on the CD.
honestly, this is one of the best video game scores I’ve ever heard. So rich and thematic. Love the use of leitmotif and the Mystery of Bulgarian Voices.

Also, on the main page it says Secret Agent Clank was uploaded in ogg, which is pretty much the main format we rippers use to avoid quality loss, not mp3. Since orange is pretty busy at the moment and also has computer issues he probably won’t be able to reupload Secret Agent Clank for a while, let alone convert it to mp3. There are plenty of mp3 converters around the net you can get for free. 😉 I recommend Xilisoft’s Mp3 converter, works like a charm for me.

Well MP3 is very lossy and has uneeded blocks at the start and end of the tracks which is crap when you have looped tracks. Also if you have a good sound card you can very notice the difference.
Like i said quality is higher>500kbps.
With vgm music these days getting more complex in sound why go for outdated 320vkps mp3, not sound the same as ogg.
plus it saves a few mb’s.
But like i said before you don’t have to download the rips if you don’t want to.

Windows media Player can play OGG. You need to download plugins for it to work though (Google OGG codec or OGG plugins, you’ll find what you’re looking for)

Finally update time, been a month, had a lot to do and my main PC died so i have to use this one which is crap.

Finally here is dark athena, contains remade versions of butcher bay tracks, Gustaf did it again!! with high 48hz rate>great quality.
Game came with surround tracks but those have to be recompiled in AC3 for in order to be surround, have not find a proper way of doing that because the separate surround tracks i cannot find which channel is which. will work on that and post the ac3’s later.

Hell yes! Great update! Actually I did rip Aeon Flux and will post it, it’s actually finished already. I looped and edited the tracks I think, or at least the ones that needed to be.I’ll probably post it sometime later this week so you can choose which version you want.
Will grab Athena, Wheelman, and FEAR2. You’re awesome.
Ripping those new Sony games like Retribution and Shadow are a pain in the ass. I just went through a terrible ordeal ripping Socom Tactical Strike which also used those segments.

OrangeC, I would also like to make a request.
WRATH UNLEASHED, a PS2 and XBOX game from LucasArts. It really does have a phenomenal score, and it really does deserve to be released to the masses. Someone else had done a rip, but it got deleted, and the individual left soon after.
