Do you have the soundtrack rips of the Sega Master System or Game Gear Jurassic Park, and the Game Gear Lost World?
To clarify (because it’s confusing):
The Game Gear and Sega Master System Jurassic Park game are the same. Same music and everything.
I believe there is a Game Gear only copy of The Lost World, though.
the Operation Genesis soundtrack had just what i was looking for!
yeas
I love you.
thanks!
I am the biggest Jurassic Park nerd ever, I love it oh god
I’m already downloading a ton tonight but I’ll be coming right back here tomorrow for the movie scores+OSTs.
read the first page.
So nvm then x)
What do you mean?
He wants these as FLAC Lossless files.
And no, I don’t think any of them are.
Speaking of which, any updates whatsoever?
I have a donation. I’ve got the Jurassic Park "AMIGA" game OST. Unsure if complete, but it’s here:

Sadly I have no time at this moment to rip and edit all the material I can get my fingers on. I fear you have to trust all the other Editors right at the moment. Sorry, but my work has (almost) completely taken over my life ๐
With Jurassic Park i think he used the conductors score and replicated missing moments and with TLW he cleaned them up a bit better. i’m not sure how.
With Jurassic Park i think he used the conductors score and replicated missing moments and with TLW he cleaned them up a bit better. i’m not sure how.
I have movie trilogy score in FLAC, I need OST’s from Game The Lost World and Warpath in FLAC, but maybe somebody else needs movie score in FLAC ๐
He used a sound editor to even remove as much of the sfx as possible. Oh noes… t-rex roar echo… end of the world?
I think to expect it to always be clean is outrageous. I get that you’re all kids here but most of us grew up with having to deal with tiny occasional sfx or quality issues with rips… and frankly, if that’s all that we can get at the moment, that’s all we can get… I’d rather deal with that than nothing.
He also did a War of the Worlds edit which is SUPERB, using the 2 Disc set and pulling music from the special features just to get clean music and find alternates and unused music and lost cues… he goes all out.
It’s kinda rude when it gets posted without thanks to him and his work, when a whole disc is omitted for some reason and people complain because theres a tiny bit of sfx…
In one word: spoiled.
Also if you’ve had this set for a year, then this isn’t the updated version.
This is the new edit based on the conductors score:
Part 1
Jurassic Park , grate movie, grate sound
how to thank you dude? you’re my hero!
Would it be possible to fix that one? ๐
I would be really grateful!
The triumph theme was in TLW also…. just not epicly…..
and TLW had alot of music that was better as the first

Ooh. I have an edited TLW complete score with no/little sfx. Hows this in regards to sfx? I’ll give it a listen though.
I just tried the file, and it doesn’t seem to be working. Do you possibly have it in 320 kbs?
The data is in FLAC format, and some of the track names are quite long.
But, this set is getting passed around a lot, and I am saying that it is not a "recording session". I refer you to the Harry Potter recording sessions recently posted. A recording session would have NO fx from the film, but they can include conducters speaking, chair and paper noise etc. The complete score and recording sessions being discussed here are the exact same recording, both dvd rips. I am merely pointing the fact out. The source I got this set from a while back was unaware of it, and was happy to have it pointed out. I am not criticizing the uploader, just pointing a detail out to him.
I am well aware of the work it involves to rip and edit even iso scores. I appreciate that. I have nothing against the recording. Fx are , as you say, inevitable. All I did was download it, check a couple of tracks, realize I have had this set for a year, and deleted it. I don’t listen to rips, as FOR ME, no recording is better than poor recordings. But, that is just me, and it is easy enough to just delete the file. No big, and I have thanked the uploader for his effort.
Also, not a "kid", but thanks for the com[pliment. ๐
To which are you referring, if I may ask?
———- Post added at 06:34 PM ———- Previous post was at 06:32 PM ———-
There is no complete with no fx? All are dvd rips….
Yes, but I minimized and edited out major sfx the best I could. That’s what I meant.

and TLW had alot of music that was better as the first
That’s true. If I remember correctly, Williams apparently used a recording technique for the first film’s score to give it a cleaner, brighter sound, emphasizing the brass (and the trumpets). For TLW he dulled the sound to give it a more ominous, jungle-y feel. I personally prefer the first film’s score, but TLW was very good too. To each his own!
I like both scores, I love the last few tracks, where it gets more orchestral like the first score,
also, I "brightened" the sound of TLW to be more like the first score, here is the link (http://www.megaupload.com/?d=H4AGOUK1)
its very good I think, it makes it sound less muffled

No.
But I have the 7.1 rip of JP and TLW, and there is more clean music than before!

I’ve recently, with the release of JP on blu ray, redone my Jurassic Park score edit. This means better quality rips and fewer sfx. Right now, there are really only a few cues that have ANY sfx… the thunder in "The Approaching Storm" is one example where the entire cue is clean except those moments. Same with the Rex chase where echoes of the roar can be heard but is otherwise clean.
I also noticed I was going by some out-dated slate titles and I’ve updated my names.
I hope you all enjoy this new edit!

Scratch that, I found all of it. BINGO! I’ll make new thread later.
Thanks for the info nomad/IndyJones. I guess we’ll both be waiting for the kind soul who has these scores to re-upload them. Sorry about your computer. If you had treasures like these scores on there, it sounds like a terrible loss.
The only loss I cry tears about are the Indiana Jones and JP soundtracks, because unfortunately these were the only scores I didn???t make a backup of. With the other private scores, I was able to find track them again over the vast wide of the internet.

The Game score "Jurassic Park : The Lost World (Complete Score)" by Michael Giacchino had already gone in early 2010 when I downloaded them (or I chose not to download it ?). It was commercially available anyway, and can be found elsewhere. The Game score "Jurassic Park : Sega Genesis – Rampage Edition" was never actually posted here.

It wasn’t posted here in FLAC, so cannot be re-uploaded.
Why cant be re uploaded?
It is simple english. If you marry for the first time, you marry. If you marry again its re-marry.
A file is first uploaded in a thread; subsequent postings of the file are a re-upload. You do not start with a re-upload.
A FLAC version of this has not been posted, so it cannot be re-uploaded.

Goodmusician, is this the same edits as you had done previously?
I dont’ think I ever uploaded this version. My older ones are very close/ similar but won’t have the new iTunes tracks in it nor the iTunes alternate takes which are on disc 2. I also redid the entire edit (technically) using the clearer sound of iTunes tracks. This is the most up to date version I’ve made including a newly mixed/cleaned "The Trouble With Dennis" which was never quite this clean before.
I know I’d posted a version close to the iTunes release, I think just replacing the rips with the new tracks, but after truly studying the iTunes release I went back and redid a lot more.

And Jedisaurus, I have pretty sensitive ears, I can post a DVD rip if it helps, but it’s not there… from my understanding the DTS track used on the original DVD is the same from the theatrical release but maybe its not… here’s the DVD rip of that section at least.

I know for a FACT the blu-ray 7.1 release and the subsequent 3D release is a new mix. I don’t have those handy at the moment, but I’m certain its omitted there too. I’ve never compared to the VHS though, so that might be different (and if it is, it could mean that the original is different too)
I tend to listen to disc 3 anyway heh
Spielberg, having to leave to Poland to film ‘Schindler’s List’ had created an edit of the film before effects and this edit was sent out to continue the production. Williams’s edit of the film included a slightly longer "Raptor in the Shed" or "Hungry Raptor" sequence originally.
George Lucas kinda helped Spielberg by taking over the project State-Side while Spielberg would see updates via a video connection. At some point, the sequence of the Raptor in the Shed was cut down by about 30 seconds and the music, possibly due to the edit and possibly due to the cue he wrote being considered tonally off from the rest of the film, was removed and replaced with tracked music. William’s had no time for re-scores due to work on ‘Schindler’s List’ among other projects so there was no opportunity for Williams to go back and work on Jurassic Park again. This may be why it’s such a short score but also why there are no real alternates.
But when you mentioned hearing that fanfare, I was like "hmm" because I’ve always wondered at what point exactly did that sequence get cut down; at what point in production was the music changed? It had to be late in the schedule, after William’s had already recorded the score. Spielberg had "locked" the film when he went to Poland, so for this change to occur is somewhat of a bigger thing too.
But anyway, if you ever do find that it was something you had heard, let me know!

wow. thats fascinating. Love inside stuff like that! I’ll definitely rewatch and get back to you. When I saw it in 3D I listened for the score carefully.

…and I thought I caught some things, that little cue being one, but I will just have to watch JP again when I get home from work. Oh darn, I hate when that happens ๐ haha
Disc 1 should be pretty faithful to the film cut although I did notice that I accidentally put the full "system ready" on disc 1, not the edited down version heard in the film…
ALTHOUGH This time I DID correct the film ending to "Eggs in the Forest"
Disc 1:
1. The Trouble With Dennis
2. The Great T-Rex Chase
Disc 2:
20. Burn it All (from Backdraft)
But the 2 tracks from Disc 1 has the most affect for me.
Oh…Ic…but I don’t find that Disc 1 had the corrected Film finale and end credits sequence. If it was Disc 3 then maybe you may find it a bit of the film but slightly unused part of the track between grant looking at the pelicans and into the sunset. If you listen carefully to the film and the edit, Goodmusician’s version had actually skipped the part where grant looking at the pelicans. So, I had edited the track to sound more like the film version.
https://mega.co.nz/#!PEVigQaI!UzbofmMmKFVGquAGB05pyEhk6E9RMq7Petb2Flk RkAU
If you wish to hear the credits as heard in film, it’s on disc 1.
Same with High Wire Stunts
On disc 3 is the full track. Listen to "end credits part 1" and at roughly [1:11] to [1:17] will play the descending piano/flute part omitted in the film, which instead cuts to the big swell. The omission/edit is just before the final cut away from the flying pelican to the full shot of the helicopter which moves from left to center and off into the sunset. This is moments before the fade to black and the credits roll. It’s a micro edit in both the film and music. Originally the credits and fade out were a few seconds later.
Watch again and listen for that and if your film has it I wanna know where you got it hehe
And I’ve heard other edits of JP before and some are good, some are bad. It’s what got me into making my own edits years ago honestly. I was never satisfied with the JP edits I downloaded so I set out to make my own.
That’s what started it all for me really lol
Twas just a reference, to that guy (WilliamTaylor1969) who was complaining about "MAJOR FX!" when you first did your edit

Thanks so much.
I think this is the best topic to share this. I’m a huge fan of the JP series, so also the music from JP.
When I bought the Lost World score in 1997, I was always wondering why there were some tracks on the CD, not included in the film.
(Yes, this time the other way instead of music from the movie not included on the CD :P)
One of the tracks from the regular CD was track 12: Ludlows Demise.
A part in the movie that probably was edited at a later stage because the music appearance was to loud.
I thought, let’s try to edit this scene how it should have bin edited when John Williams delivered the score.
This is a rough cut from the movie, so the quality is not the best. I tried to keep the SFX, and remove the music.
Enjoy this clip, I did my best on it without good programs to edit.
If I can give a little insight, that cue is technically not an alternate but rather IS the music Williams wrote for that sequence. The music heard in the film is tracked music from the original full credits (hear partially in the film). Just a technicality.
When I synced mine, I pushed the music just a hair earlier than yours which I think is closer to the way Williams wrote it BUT I’ve noticed that the way Williams writes film scores is usually in sync, but the way it’s used many times is slightly OFF that sync… perhaps to not over-heighten the sync points. Films like A.I. and Jurassic Park even come to mind where the cues are pushed moments late or early to keep the sync points from being too robust so If the cue had been used, they would have synced it the way you have it I bet so I don’t think you’re wrong at all heh Your closer to what we would have heard in theatres had it been used heh
Good job!
There are a few videos I made for TLW but most of the unused music is difficult if not entirely impossible to really replace due to the amount the film was edited. For example, the full "The Hunt" cue is still too short for the extended sequence heard in the film (which may be partially why it’s not used in the final film), so you’d have to edit it down. The cue prior to that for when the InGen hunters arrive is much longer than whats heard in the film, but the sequence is cut so short.
Also our knowledge of the score has grown since the videos I made. Certain cues I had surmised were alternates were not (despite how well they worked as such! lol)
Anyway, great job on your video edit ๐
The music they are playing over the sound system is parts of the Lost World Score that aren’t on the soundtrack… For instance, the whole underscore for Eddie giving Sarah and the others the rope was playing, also the jungle drums cue that plays over Roland losing the tranquilzers into the gun, AND the little jungle drum underscore that plays with Ludlow discussing the San Diego theme park. I asked some employees and no one knew about the sound system…
If anyone knows an Islands of Adventure Jurassic Park employee, you might ask about the sound system playlist or something like that…
I did, however, go in with a digital recorded and record the music from the speakers. I had to go back because the first time I only got the left channel and then I went back to get the right channel. I made a rather extensive edit of The lost World using it too. I may have to reup.
dont suppose anybody has it?
also is there any more music missing from the Warpath score?

Is there a complete score to the Lost world yet? with quality comparable to the Resurrected Jurassic park score?
I second this ๐
Me too!

I think that the ambience are a part of the music score. I have been trying to rip this game for a couple of days now and i found that every ambient noise repeats at the exact same time in sync with the music. I might be wrong but in that case the ambient track is the same lengt and loops the same place with the music.
EDIT: Sorry, i thought you meant Warpath.
I also discovered that there is a lot more music! each level of the game has at least 3 stages of music (more and more intense when someone is closer to loosing)
Aproximatley like this:
0-10% Health loss = Track 1
10-70% Health loss = Track 2
70-100% Health loss = Track 3
It’s not layered instruments either, because for every track shift, it starts from the beginning.
But i also found another track which made me give up the whole ripping prosess, because after playing the recording back i found another track different from stage 1,2 and 3. I was finishing off the battle to chose another level, then this eery creepy theme kicked inn. like a different track if you are dominating the battle or something. I haven’t been able to figure this out yet. I think the ONLY good solution to this is actually converting the STR audio files inside the game. This is where i am stuck. And i need help :S i have tried all the sugested programs to do so but i am unable to play them. Anyone up for this task? There are some great underrated music here composed by Michael Giacchino. I was also surprised to learn that this game uses smart music coding to play at different stages of the game. Depending on how you play.
I also found similar musical cues which is also used in the lost world PS1 game. kinda cool!
I sent you a PM. I’d like to hear what it sounds like ๐ good idea.
I have another idea too. What if you synced it with an audiobook? That way the listener could follow the story with the appropriate music in the background. People read at different pace. So it might not fit with everyone who is reading.
But you mentioned it’s not meant to be heard with the book. So is it one long suite then remixed to fit the books content? Anyway im curios to hear ๐

My edit is cut into tracks (62 at the moment) and yes, for the most part it could be played while reading, but some tracks would not fit nicely, with long silent spaces or very short ones. The whole thing is about 5.5 hours long. Not everything, every moment in the book is scored, but most of it is. I do not have the audiobook of JP or TLW so I cannot at the moment splice in the score. A cool project that would make, no? Maybe later. So thats a little more of the project. Any other questions or comments please let me know. I also did not post this in its own starter thread because I did not want this widely distributed. I hope everyone understands.

I gotta give you some credit. That sounds like a massive undertaking. Good Job! I’d love to hear a Lost World version.
Have any of you guys heard a radio theatre dramatisation before? In the country i come from it was quite popular in the 50’s and still is. I found out that BBC did/does it as well. (yes I have heard of War of The Worlds) but it’s a bit different from that. it’s not like listening to an audio book or watching the films with no picture. but a fine mixture of them both.
This is probably semi off topic and should probably get it’s own post. If it is i apologize and will remove this post. But I’m interested in experiment with that a bit. Try to make Jurassic Park or a The Lost World Radio dramatisation based on the movies or novel. use audio assets from the movie as well as other sound effects to explain what’s going on, non visually but with sound. And maybe use an audio book as well. What do you guys think? anyone interested in that? or perhaps a colaboration project? ๐ just throwing an idea out there.
(i blame jedisaurus for getting me intrigued on this idea, haha)

Please can somebody rip me the background Ambience from the Lost world Ps2 Game, not the music just the background sfx ambient tracks!
You mean the PS1 game? I am actually currently working on that. Unless you mean Operation Genesis (The only JP game released on PS2) it’s quite easy as the ambients are stored as .ogg files in the game directory. Easy to grab if you own the game.
TLW PS1 game ambients tho is nothing spesial. If you like the ambients then you generally just like the sound of jungle birds and crickets in general. In the game it’s rather low quality and easy to make yourself in HQ. Just add a T-Rex roar every now and then. But hey, not criticizing your nostalgic feelings for the game ^^ I’ll let you know when I’m done.
If possible, I’d love links or info on where those are at. Thanks in advance!
The Lost World, unfortunately, exists most completely in the version I was able to cobble together. Between film rips, recordings of the music playing over the speakers at IOA, and the album, there is a version available. The sheet music is available so I have considered doing mock ups of the missing material but have lacked the time.
Jurassic Park III is pretty much fully available (that we know) via film rips, the promo, and the album. I can say guess that there are still some parts missing, but no way to know entirely for sure.

Thanks ๐
Thanks ๐
What version is that exactly ?. And bear in mind that this thread covers a number of different titles. If it is nowhere to be found, how do you expect anyone to know what you mean ?.
Right, my mistake…I was referring to the Jurassic Park 20th Anniversary edition in 192khz / 24 bits…It appeared very briefly in the forum, on another thread, but unfortunately the link is long dead. The 96/24 is frequently re-upped, so if by any luck, someone was fortunate enough to get it in time, I’d be very grateful for a link !
Warpath Soundtrack
Playstation Lost World Score (Retail Version)
Operation Genesis Score
Trespasser score?
or anything by Dean Evans? (Chaos Continues or The Dos/Amiga Game score)
would do anything for these amazing sounds!

Besides the original John William themes used in the new score, did it have that JP feeling to any of you?
Personally i Love the Lost world probably the most of the original scores, but i can’t say the new score has that many memorable JP touch moments musically to me. It’s a good score, but a bit dissapointing when compareing it to the others IMO.
I felt the Ingen soldier theme however was spot on tho. And the music referance to the lost world PS1 game score Giacchino made was brilliant!
Williams scores hold a spot very dear to me. I love how he writes, how he accents movement and tone and emotion, and the very sounds he uses.
Jurassic Park was fresh for the time. It had his 90’s sound but like ‘War of the Worlds’ was an amalgam of so many other sounds and for a score that, unlike ‘Schindler’s List,’ was produced in a bit of a crunch and with no time for revision, I find ‘JURASSIC PARK’ to be an amazing triumph for the era.
The Lost World still wins supreme for me for it’s colors, textures, sounds, and scope. It is bold and big and takes large strokes and really paints a wonderful canvas that still harkens back to and touches on JURASSIC PARK.
Jurassic Park 3 is not high on my list of film scores, but it is passable. There are certain cues (mostly the Pterosaur sequence ones) where the music is truly well crafted. Other moments, you can tell the rushed and haphazard production hindered Don Davis ability to deliver much more than filler. The score suffers from being in the footprint (see what i did there? lol) of John Williams and tries very desperately to use William’s…perhaps due to the lack of time to truly develop his own score past a four note Spinosaur motif and a family theme that feels tonally out of place with the rest of the score.
Jurassic World, however, is another animal entirely. Almost like the iRex it’s a little bit of everything: Jurassic Park, The Lost World, The lost World Video Game, some moments that sound almost like Operation Genesis and even a moment that sounds just like a cue I wrote for Prime Survival… the score is not without it’s comparisons.
What the score IS without, however, are memorable themes. Giacchino has never been one of my favourite composers. His orchestrations always sound like they’re voiced incorrectly, they come off as jovial, inappropriate emotionally, or even FORCED emotionally. I WONT’ say they’re bad! They are good… but they are not the well crafted, insanely detailed, meticulously analyzed and thought out scores that William’s has the ability (and perhaps the respect and time allowed) to deliver.
Giacchino’s score also does some odd moments where the score becomes almost… almost like concert music playing over film. One instance is the pan up to the island and the familiar "Theme from Jurassic Park" playing through the scenes up until the reveal of the park in operation. This sequence is NOT a montage and yet the music plays as if it is. It’s almost reminiscent of 2001 and how Kubrick used existing classical music over the film (in space and with silence otherwise) to create the mood while in JW, because there is dialogue and stuff going on, the music almost fights for attention against whats happening and it pulls me out of the film. There are several moments of this.
One issue with the film is Claire. She is the reason the park runs–with no qualms. Masrani is running around having fun while Claire meets with investors, checks in on the control room, handles security issues, begins marketing meetings, handles…everything…
If ANY person in the film deserves a theme…it is Claire… one that connects to, plays with, and is strongly enforced by the "Park is Open" theme… but we don’t get one. I say a theme because think of Princess Lea… she has a theme but why? She’s barely in A New Hope. Why does she get a theme and not Han?
The answer is context. The film doesn’t have time to give context or explain who everyone is or why they are important, but we are explained emotionally how important someone can be and this emotional explanation… informs the audience that ‘this is a person of stature and respect’ even if we don’t know why. The SAME should have been done for Claire.
Owen gets a ridiculous fanfare before he runs in to the paddock to stop the "raptor squad" from making lunch of the other park employee.
The piano for the Dying apatosaur does nothing for me. The solo horn for the door to the old VC was too predictable….
The iRex music works well I think… but almost gets overplayed. It’s memorable and does it’s job so I can’t complain really about it.
There are a lot of moments that feel… haphazard…like he wasn’t sure what to do and just did what he had time for and moved on.
There are some cues that are good! The pterosaur music was all brilliant. Every last bit. It even has a William’s feel to it and it spot on emotionally.
Some of the quotes in the film almost seem obligatory… like William’s quoting ‘Der Rosenkavalier’ in A.I., it was a stipulation he quote this and that and so he did in ways that were appropriate but short.
The frivolity of the source music works perfectly so no issues with that, but in all, i feel like the score could have been better and the film deserved a bit of a stronger score in some moments.

anybody got the track titles for warpath jurassic park?
The soundtrack was never oficially released and the track titles are confusing. I don’t think there’s any true tracklist, but i have seen some versions use the name of the dinosaur for each of the level as the track title, or you coul’d use the name of the level. But there is a lot more music in the game currently not available. Each track has at least 3 versions and there are some other themes as well missing. Been working on ripping it myself but haven’t had the time to finish it. So many bugs and errors..

SO glad to hear someone finally say what I’ve been saying for years. Your analysis of JP4 is spot-on. Giacchino is the most overrated composer in Hollywood, today. Nothing against the guy, personally, but most of his scores are just awful. I don’t understand why he is so celebrated (if you can call it that). Well, if not "celebrated," he’s certainly busy — and gets huge gigs. So much about his work seems off: The writing, the orchestrations, the mixes. Yet, he gets one big gig after another. It truly blows my mind.
Anyway, thanks for sharing your honest (if also tactful and respectful) thoughts. They are echoed.
