Crash Bandicoot: Mind Over Mutant

Here’s the thread for the new Crash game. It is set for release in North America on October 28, and on October 31st in Europe.

So, has anyone heard news about the new Crash Bandicoot game ?
Its name is "Mind Over Mutant", and that’s a sequel of "Crash of the Titans".

Recently, a few screenshots have been revelead on Crash’s main site, Crash Village (http://crashvillage.com/).

I think/hope a screen of character models will be available very soon on IGN.com. And Trailers for that game will be shown at the E3.

Why does people thinks that only Naughty Dog could make good Crash games ? Radical Entertainment has made two very good games for now. I am sure it will continues in that great way !

Because every Crash game that is worth playing was made by Naughty Dog. The series sucked horribly after CTR, the last Crash game made by Naughty Dog, that ought to tell you something.

Crash 1 = Awesome
Crash 2 = Best Crash Game
Crash 3 = Awesome
CTR = Awesome

Crash Bash = Worst Crash Game
Crash WOC = Shit
Twinsanity = Average

Sadly, I am almost sure that this will suck just as bad as Crash of the titans, and Crash games will continue to suck.

You are free to have your opinion, The Master, but I am not with you. People have to give a chance to others teams who make sequels of Naughty Dog’s Crash games. This isn’t nice to consider that Naughty Dog is the master, only because they’re the father of Crash. I loved every Crash games I had since 1996 (I have 10 games among a total of 14). And the next game seems to be better than any other past game ever !

I gave them chances, I got Crash Bash and WOC and I thought they sucked. You can like them if you want, I just think they’re a disgrace to the classics that were actually good.

I don’t just like naughty dog because they were the fathers of Crash, I like them because every Crash game worthy of mention was made by them.

Anyway it looks like Crash games will never have what they did 10 years ago, and it saddens me to see the series go up in flames like this.

Same with Spyro too 🙁

Okay. But you should buy Crash TwinSanity, this game was considered by almost every fans as the better Crash game after Naughty Dog’s era. However, some others thinks that Crash of the Titans is better than TwinSanity. You should try these games, you know. They’re really better than CTR, Bash and Woc !

I don’t agree with that. I loved the first one, and the original crash team racing for PSX was amazingly addictive. But Im not so keen on the more recent ones to be honest.

You are not nice with Crash. He’s quite a funny video game character, you know. There’s not only Link, Mario or Sonic who are the best characters. Crash, Spyro, Lara Croft (etc …) are also as great as any others characters. I think they’re better (that’s my opinion after all).

True, Twinsanity was one of the better games, however there was just too much for it to live up to to make it any good. It was average at best.

However, some others thinks that Crash of the Titans is better than TwinSanity. You should try these games, you know. They’re really better than CTR, Bash and Woc !

CTR was my last crash game to play and yes all the first few were pretty awesome. I was sort of intending to try the new ones but I might give it a miss after that lol.

CTR was probably the best in terms of gameplay, even if the were some really annoying glitches, such as the tracking missile that would, for no apparent reason, veer off course right as it was about to hit your opponent, and those ‘black holes’ that you could occasionally fall into if you went down a hole, which would leave you in limbo between the chasm and the track, able to drive and steer normally but not actually move.

But in terms of sheer addictiveness I have to admit it wins.

TwinSanity I thought would be poor, as its immediate predecessors in the series (such as Crash Nitro Kart) were quite a step down from even the PS1 games, but I was pleasantly surprised. The gameplay was nice and slick, original, and entertaining, and the scripting was hilarious, even if the whole ‘aliens from another dimension’ plot idea has been done zillions of times.

I haven’t played Crash of the Titans yet (stupid university destroying my gaming plans) but hope to buy it or at least try it over the summer.

Incidentally, I liked Crash Bash. I admit, the multi-minigame titles can divide opinion a lot, but I thought there was a good mix of things to do. I especially liked the pinball minigames which are just the sort of thing that you can play over and over and not really get tired of. Story kind of sucked, but then again, who plays Crash for the stories?

I am a huge fan of Naughty Dog especially their work on Jak and Daxter, so unfortunately I’m inclined to agree that Crash unfortunately died in the arse when Naughty Dog was out of the picture.

The problem with Crash Bash is that there was about 12 games, and it was too easy even when I was 10 years old.

And the clones didn’t help much either.

It is generally fairly easy, but that’s not a problem if you do multiplayer, which is where the game is strongest. Also, I think some of the minigames are suitably difficult on Hard COM mode, notably the pinball and tank minigames.

ok crash is cool most of us can igree on that like the master and gholies so get used to the new crash and anyway i heard that naugthy dog is still making games or at least something but we all have to admit crash rules!

and the master crash might be new but clock the games first no matter how much you hate it and we all know most pepole love crash bandicoot as i said before so i like the new games better than old ones no offence

I am totally with you, InsaneStar7. Radical has made two great Crash Bandicoot games for now, and I am sure next ones will be better yet !

I don’t think so. A lot of fans bet it too. MOM will get a good rate, and is perhaps better than Crash 3 …

Yes, I watched the demo from the Comic-Con 2008. The game seems very great !

Anyway, it has been confirmed that Crunch and Nina Cortex will be in MOM.

And four character models were shown at the "Crash & Spyro Day", in Italia. Check Crash Mania to see them.
