Mario Kart Wii: The Good Times Thread (WiFi)

Mario Kart is now out in Japan, Europe and Australia and will be released in NA in just 3 days. I think it’s time a MKWii discussion/wifi thread was made~

So far I’ve only finished three cups in 50cc: Mushroom, Flower and Star. 50cc is insanely slow and I am really hoping 100cc/150cc pack a bigger punch ;-;.

I don’t have time or money for new games at the moment but I want to get the new Mario Kart kinda. Hopefully it will be much more like MKDS and not at all like the shitfest that was double dash. Also You can unlock Captain Falcon’s car (and then use it with a Captain Falcon Mii to pretend you’re THE MAN HIMSELF), which is really reason enough to get the game.

Just a heads up:
The first Competition opened up today. Basically it’s a VS match against 11 CPUs and your goal is to get the fastest time possible. You can only race on one track: Mario Circuit (Wii) and it’s been edited a little.

Go compete and submit your times, it’s fun.

i got my reserved copy the day it came out and haven’t been able to put it down! the only thing i dont like is out of all the track remakes, howcome they had to put so many damn GC tracks in it? if i wanted to play the GC tracks, i would put the DD disc in.

otherwise, very awesome game, online works excellent, we will have to do some number exchanging here. I just wish they would have redone more SNES Tracks.

I would but I can’t seem to find a connection for my wii and my laptop doesn’t like using the nintendo wifi adapter I have cause lol vista sucks and my desktop is dead and not here right now.

What the hell. Where is the Mario Kart love? I’m having a blast with it, personally. All criticism aside, this one is worth the price of admission for the online functions alone.

I played it at a friends house and it was just as good as I remember the N64 one to be. Didn’t bother to try using the wheel though.

EDIT: Come to think of it, I didn’t try battle mode either, which has been the other criticized area of the game.

I love Mario Kart Wii just as much as I love Smash Bros. Brawl, and Mario Galaxy!
