Greetings to any MK music fans out there. NucleaRaptor here, though I also go by Shuriken,T-rex and a variety of other names, depending on where you know me from.
If you have any comments, questions or suggestions concerning my rip,my AIM nickname is sladetheraptor.
I’m pretty much always online,so if you want to,drop me a couple of lines.
Feedback is very much appreciated. =)
If you manage to identify any of the Unknown tracks, please let me know right away.
If you notice anything wrong with the rip (typos, hiccups, etc.),no matter how small, let me know right away so that I can fix it.
The purpose of this release is to provide the MK fans with the most high-quality and the most comprehensive Mortal Kombat soundtrack rip to date. That’s why I nicknamed it "Omega". =) It’s the biggest and most ambitious rip that I’ve ever worked on.
I’m extremely anal when it comes to MK music, but I’m also a full-time college student, not to mention a lazy fucking bastard, which is why this beast took me over a year to make.
Sorry about that. =) I hope the end result was worth the wait.
Keep in mind, however, that my ripping technique is extremely primitive.
I record the video as I play the game, then rip the audio from said video and edit it.
Therefore,it’s impossible for me to record certain tracks like, say, the Konquest cutscenes without the interference of all of the sounds and voices,as there is no way to eliminate them in the cutscenes.
I did my absolute best, but this rip is not,and I repeat,NOT complete and is subject to improvement.
If you are a ripper and are willing to contribute to this project by ripping the tracks that are not properly represented here directly from the game itself,I would be immensely grateful.
THE RUNDOWN:
DISC 1 – BATTLE ARENAS
http://www.megaupload.com/?d=CLT2LAYD
The heart of the soundtrack. These are the tracks that play during one-on-one fighting.
I was a bit reluctant to include the Nethership,Hell’s Foundry, the Sky Temple and the Falling Cliffs tracks, since they really belong in a Deception soundtrack rip,but I decided to rip them anyway for completion’s sake.
DISC 2 – KONQUEST
http://www.megaupload.com/?d=W06M6FP2
You’ll find the background music from Konquest mode in here.
Tracks 22,23 and 24 really belong on the Miscellaneous disc. The reason for that is that I haven’t actually heard these tracks featured in the actual Konquest mode. These were found by dmkf when he ripped a bunch of sound data from the game’s code. They are, however, variations of some of the Konquest tracks, and as such, are placed here.
A little note about "Reptile variations" – the reason I named them that way is because of that distinct use of flutes. Throughout the series, the tracks featuring those flutes are usually the Living Forest tracks, which most of the time happens to Reptile’s turf. Hence the name.
DISC 3 – MOTOR KOMBAT
http://www.megaupload.com/?d=4MMRRJQ1
Pretty self-explanatory.
DISC 4 – BONUS – SHAO KAHN’S TREASURE CHEST
http://www.megaupload.com/?d=HMKDGCOC
Ah,the most meaty and delicious part of this rip. =)
This is the reason why this rip took so long to make.
Now this requires a bit of an explanation.
Here, you will find miscellaneous tracks that don’t fit anywhere else. Tracks from menus,Kreate-a-Fighter mode and others.
But that’s not all!
You will also find some completely new tracks, previously unheard before. A lot of these were found pretty much by accident while ripping the sound data directly from the code.
Quite a big portion of this disc is devoted to unique tracks featured in the Konquest mode cutscenes. In particular, tracks 12 through 47 are all from Konquest. As I mentioned before, there is no way to eliminate the sound effects and the voices during the cutscenes without muting the music along with them. There was an option of significantly reducing the voices to a near hiss, but the few people I talked to about this seemed to have decided against this solution. Therefore,I decided to record them as is. You can still hear the music despite the voices.
I also included recordings of some of the character endings from the Arcade mode. These particular endings also have unique music. Some of them feature cleaner samples of tracks from the Konquest cutscenes. Unfortunately, most of these end abruptly (the endings are only about 40-50 seconds each, after all) and feature the narrator’s voice on the background, since I’ve found no way to get rid of it.
A lot of the endings share music.
For example, the track labeled as "KAF Ending" also plays during Havik’s and Mokap’s endings. The reason I chose this particular one is because it’s the longest of the three and therefore, represents a more complete version of the track.
Finally,I’ve also included the recordings of some of the character Bio Cards from the MKA Special Edition Disc. Again, there was no way to get rid of all the sounds and voices, but you can still hear the unique tracks used as background music. Many of the Bio Cards feature music taken from Deception and other games in the series. For the most part,I have tried to exclude those and only leave the ones that have the music unique to Armageddon.
ENJOY!
Thanks!
That was going to be my next project.
Now,MK:Special Forces is the only MK title that I don’t think has ever been ripped in any form. It’s on my list of priorities, though I’m not even sure if it’s worth ripping.
BTW: Anyone know where I can get a rip of the announcer from Deception/Armageddon? I’d like to have recordings of the announcer speaking the characters’ names.
I read how did you ripped the music, but let me tell you there is a easier way, with better results: I supose you have MK Armageddon for PS2, so you only need 2 things (and that is for all you rippers too):
– An RCA audio cable like this (you can find it in any store, but make sure you are buying a stereo cable and not a mono cable)
– A music program (I use Cubase SX 2, very easy to use and practical)
Plug your RCA audio cable into your computer sound card! Next link your PS2 RCAs audio cables (http://img.mercadolivre.com.br/jm/img?s=MLB&f=65766763_7761.jpg&v=P) into the RCA audio cable! Now you have a conextion between your PlayStation and your computer! And that’s it! Go to your computer’s control panel/sound and see the mixer (this http://www.domenech.org/homebrew-sdr/sdradio-windows-wave-in-mixer.PNG)! Enable your AUX track and you begin to ear your PlayStation sounds in your computer! With a program like Cubase SX, you can record the AUX track sounds, or "what your PC is listening".
Result: Better quality and less work! Any doubt, just say it!
Hope it helps ๐
Thanks for the advice,I’ll definitely try it.
EDIT: http://forums.ffshrine.org/showthread.php?p=1088948#post1088948 MK Mythologies Soundtrack
A request if it’s possible: is there any way at all to rip the intro movie’s music, as in just the music, with no voice or fighting sounds in it? At all? It has been done for Mortal Kombat Shaolin Monks, so it can’t be impossible.

The fuck? o_O Where? How? Unless the developers were nice enough to stash the track used in the intro inside the depths of the code, there’s really no way it should be possible. Link to the Shaolin Monks intro track plz.
But yeah,I would love to get a clear rip,but with the way I’m doing my rips,it’s just not possible. All of the sounds and noises are a part of the actual video,so fiddling around in options does nothing. Though if I actually learn how to rip to music files directly,I might be able to pull this one off. I’ll keep you guys updated. =)

‘Twas from this thread: Thread 43570
I think you posted there before. The intro theme was in the file I downloaded (not sure if still there) and it was pretty much flawless, no sound effects of battle or nothing, just music. ๐
And I understand. Hope you or someone is able to rip directly at some point. I’d love to have just the MKA intro music.
Can you upload it,by any chance?
20 Choose the file you want to upload
