3) From what I’ve researched, the music in the US version is different for the only reason that Sega wanted to try and make it come across as a "special edition". The reason the past music is unchanged is that it was made as pcm audio instead of redbook audio.

thanks, i knew that much, but i was under the impression that hataya and ogata composed the redbook audio portions of the jp soundtrack and not the past bgm, because the compositions sound nothing like the other tracks they did. i dont mean quality wise either, the music just sounds so.. different. but thanks anyways.
you cant play or rip the past bgm as we’ve already said, theyre pcm files.
