S.S.T. (Sega Sound Team) Band Discography

The S.S.T.BAND (S.S.T.バンド- translated as S.S.T. bando, SST abbreviated as SEGA Sound Team) was SEGA’s official band from 1988 to 1993, specializing in rock versions of soundtracks of SEGA well known arcade games. Consisting of six members, the band consisted of members that includes, keyboardist Kimitaka Matsumae and Hiroshi Miyauchi, guitarists Koichi Namiki and Jouji Iijima, bassist Shingo Komori, drummer Takehiko Tanabe. Miyauchi and Komori would leave the band in 1990 and be replaced by keyboardist Takenobu Mitsuyoshi, bassist Masato Saito. Tanabe would leave the band in 1991 and be replaced by drummer Hisanori Kumamaru. They played songs from SEGA’s video games for collection albums and in festivals.

Usually, some of these albums that were released would consists of two especially recorded versions of the game soundtrack and the rest would consist of the games original soundtrack. After the band members went their own ways, they would find themselves involved in other SEGA projects. Mitsuyoshi would be responsible for the soundtrack to Virtua Fighter, Daytona USA and the two instalments of Shenmue and Matsumae would be involved in SEGA Rally and Virtua Fighter 3.

This is….an act of god. I spent sooo long finding each of these cds, esepecially the live one. Even tho I have them, It’s awesome to see this in one place. I’ll dl them for the higher bitrate anyway.

One cd I still can’t find from them. The Strike Fighter SST album, seems to be nowhere in sight. As for the live dvd, parts of it were on youtube at one point, and they released a dvd which I think is on amazon jp, haven’t seen it for downloading anywhere.

Actually, both Vol 1 and Vol 2 would be needed. I’m pretty sure it’s just an arrange album of vgm that is credited to S.S.T. Here’s some links to the vgmdb page(that site is also GREAT)

Edit: It seems like there are alot more albums that the Sega Sound Team composed, so I’m not sure if the S.S.T. Band and The S.S.T. is quite the same. If I’m going for a discography for the band, I don’t think I need Sega Arcade 80’s, because that was made by the sound team, and has no music by the band themselves, though members of the band belong to the sound team. The sound team put out ALOT of music.

Please, please I want that Strike Fighter Soundtrack.
