Yup. It’s a great soundtrack alright. The actual title is "Technosoft Game Music Collection Vol. 15 ~ Best of Thunder Force". I downloaded it from the Galbadia Hotel a while ago. Does this rip here have a different bitrate than the on at GH?

Oh, and the first four tracks are from Thunder Force III, not II.

It’s a waste if you ask me. Bitrate is a big deal to me, now, because I want to hear each instrument in the track loud and clear, unlike in many poor, low-quality rips (anything under 192, IMO). Just a personal preference of mine.

Violent Storm and Gaiapolis are two perfect examples of not being able to hear instruments loud and clear.

Yeah sure, it sounds perfect when listening to it on a computer but, try listening to it on a CD Player! You’ll notice alot of instruments in it don’t show up properly! Regardless if it IS in high quality! 320 does NOT sound anyway superior then 192 quality! I don’t care if there was 10 uploads of a certain album on here with different bitratings on them, it would ALL sound the same!

How he or she COMPOSES the song is what really matters here, not the bitrate. Motoi is one example of hearing wonderful instruments loud and clear.
( Though, Mario Tennis sounds like it was composed in a goddamn small room )

I actually tested a song with different bitratings ( One being 128 and the other being 320 ) and burnt both of them on a disc. They both sound EXACTLY alike! One does not sound any ” Louder ” or ” Clearer ” then the other! ( And as I stated above, this goes for real instruments, not just chipsound )

I’ll tell you what I believe. I believe that there is no such thing as a high or low quality rip! As I said on my first post in this thread, as long as you got the music, your great to go! ….. unless you want to provide me proof of a
” Low quality ” rip, then private message me. If not, I disagree on what you say.

Thats of course if you listen to Video Game Music on a CD Player. If not, then just ignore what I posted.

high quality headphone & the bad thing for me it’s that i hear the little distortion in the background (especialy for the treble) & yes, 320 is clearer with my hp (headphone)

Yeah, distortion can be annoying at times but, I have a program that can make my music louder and still maintain the great quality of it!=)

all the soundtracks and cds i have are in mp3. and it is a very strict rule of mine to have everything in mp3…

Technosoft music, like this here, is great for road trips, or just for driving very fast. If I was a pilot in the Navy, you already know what I’d be listening to most of the time.

I was expecting that. It’s basically the same Tehcnosoft cd releases with one extra. wow. 1 extra. that really makes up for wasting money on something already released. They could at least made like SuperSweep did with Donpachi and Dodonpachi 2 cd release of all in game audio, which was not released. There was plenty of unreleased material.
I feel disappointed with these. :/

Being a box collection is cool. And I do see how it will fit for you as a collector, specially when Thunder Force music is so well accept even to these days. But they could have used a bit of imagination. So some games, like MAD STALKER were released digital it’s X68 soundtrack version. At least a kind of secret key where you could access their database for the other in game arranges. I don’t know. I am just saying they could offer more then 1 new arrange, if they wanted it.
